I recently tried to purchase a Daytona via Chrono24 from a US dealer. The advertisement stated "original box and papers"
I called Chrono a number of times and they advised,
1. Make sure to the check the watch once it arrived,
2. Ensure I was 100% comfortable,
3. The escrow account allowed for the 14 day refund policy,
4. The dealer had sold over 1,000 watches via Chrono24
5. The dealer was viewed viewed as trustworthy.
6. I even checked out the dealer as they claim they have been collectors since 1946…….
Based on that I proceeded and completed the wire transfer. After a few days I decided to check again and make sure that the card shown in the picture was the actual authenticity card.
More fool me. After I specifically asked the dealer they advised it was a warranty card not the authenticity card. So the "original box and papers" were not included!
I cancelled the transaction. I called Chrono24, in Asia and Germany and asked for the "payments" department who advised my payment had not reached their "MangoPay" account at Barclays (?). However my bank Commonwealth advised that the monies had been received and that Barclays are waiting for confirmation to return the money. The lady in rhe Payment Account was very helpful and assured me I would receive my monies back ….
So is this 23k down the drain, or will they honour their policy, what they have committed (verbally) and return the money? They say 5 days for an international wire, but that does seem long as most other wires I have received are 2 days. Maybe I am wrong ….
The watch was never shipped and order cancelled 1-2 days after the monies were sent. I also lodged a claim via my bank.
Has anyone had a similar experience and how did it turn out?
I can hope that Chrono24 honour their policy.

Overall great transaction. Couple of things for anyone purchasing. They cannot split the cost over two payment types on the website. I had to call to put some on a wire transfer and the rest on my credit card. I had to wait for the wire to go through and then give them my credit card. For the credit card, they asked for a picture of the card and my driver license - I am sure to cut down on fraud. Overall this only took three days to complete but just be aware.
Platform is fun to use.

I had great experiences with my first three watch purchases—all new. As long as the SELLER is a good person, things go well.
I received my watch defective or damaged. My watch did NOT match the photo in condition. The seller was an absolute jerk and immediately accused me of damaging it myself. It went downhill from there. It was a brand new watch.
I had payment stopped and refunded (credit card) and will be going around and around with C24 now.
DO NOT RELY UPON CHRONO24 FOR ANY HELP!

The seller will then ship the package fully insured with signature required. Once the buyer receives the package, they have 7 days to report an issue. As long as no issues are reported, Chrono24 will automatically payout the seller after the 7 days (it typically takes a few business days for the bank to recognize the payout).
