I have decades of experience in online sales... I have more years than that selling watches. I decided to list a watch on Chrono24, as I was excited to try a new selling platform.
I sold a watch, and the buyer paid. I mailed the watch, and the tracking soon stopped showing details.
2 months passed, and the buyer was naturally getting impatient.
After the buyer requested a "refund", I asked Chrono24 for help. I was attempting to find out what recourse I had if the watch was lost. They suggested filing for the insurance on the watch if there was a problem.
I refunded the buyer... 2 weeks later, the buyer received the watch in his mailbox.
I have absolutely no recourse. I cannot open a claim, and I'm out a $500 watch.
I feel like I was backed into refunding this purchase, and Chrono24 really offered no practical advice on the situation. I was unfamiliar with selling on this website, and as unlikely as they may say it is, I lost a watch. Good thing it was not Rolex.
They are a multi million dollar company, and their attitude seemed indifferent. The reply messages seemed canned and unhelpful.
