Chewy's reputation is marked by a strong dedication to customer service, with many customers praising the company's compassionate response during difficult times, such as pet loss. Positive sentiments frequently highlight the quality of products and the ease of the auto-ship option. However, several reviews express frustration over order cancellations, misleading promotions, and delivery delays, indicating inconsistencies in service reliability. While many customers remain loyal due to positive experiences, the recurring issues with customer support and transparency suggest areas for improvement to enhance overall satisfaction and trust.

2 months in a row 4-5 days not knowing if food is coming, when you call they have the same excuse it's fed ex fault. Ordered again on the 5 they still aren't sure If it will be here on the 10th. On top of it ordered 3 dog cots, instead of packing together they came in separate and one was busted open⦠called about the missing food. Still nobody cares its same like last, well it's fed ex fault and we have a contract with them and after it expires we are looking for another carrier more responsibleā¦. Are you kidding you me, that's not my problem. My problem now is it's 6:30 getting home from work and now I have to go to the pet store to get food for my dogs because I'm leaving to go out of town in 2 days for work. Horrible they use to be great now they are useless
1st I got my package stolen. Chewy resent me the same package with no extra cost the very next day. Then, one of the products didn't work out and they refunded me my money and told me to donate it to a local animal Shelter or family that might need it. This company goes above and beyond. I would never think a company would do such things. Will continue to purchase from them.
They always have what I need in stock and I appreciate the free shipping on orders of $49 or more. These days it's hard to find pet supplies at brick an mortar shops so Chewy has saved my butt more than a few times. The fur babies always seem to know when a Chewy box arrives.
I ordered twice through their pharmacy for life saving medication for my dog. Both times the medication was late by about 2 weeks. When I call to complain they only want to give you overnight shipping. I had to purchase the medications both times from my vet before chewy could ever get them to me. My order was made correctly and with plenty if time to get to me and still no medication. They refuse to reimburse me for the medication purchased from my vet because they were too late to get my order to me. They blame you for every problem they have with the order even the shipping. If you don't care if your dog lives or dies then purchase life saving medications from chewy. If you want your dog to have the meds and live go to another reputable company that cares. Chewy doesn't care about your pet or you.
Unfortunately, Chewy.com isn't what everyone says it is! Their Autoship service is very lacking! It is never processed on the scheduled day. This time it was processed 3-4 days early resulting in my bank account being overdrawn. This has happened in the past so it isn't the first time. This time luckily I was able to call them and have the shipment canceled before my bank charged me overdraft fees. Last time I wasn't so lucky. I have to say I'm not impressed!
By far the worst place to buy fish and reptile supplies. Even though they have a variety of supplies. Theres not enough sizes to choose from. Its hard to find the good supplies. The quality of products (freshness) are a hit or miss. But the worst thing about them is their shipping. They do not care one bit about how they package their supplies or prepare it. It is so easy for the contents to be damaged in shipping. Not only that. Shipping takes forever. Weather your pay for it or not. My order was such a hassel and headache. It ended up getting lost and damaged in shipping before it ever reached my house. So they had to ship it back. My pet fish and reptile had to go without. One of my fancy goldfish died because of it. I cant recommend them after all the pain and heartache I had to go through. It was my first and last time me doing buissness with them. Their shipping process is just too unreliable.
Fairly new to Chewy but the experience I've had with their website and customer service so far has been very pleasing!
They are priced very well with their pretty products and they offer things you can't get at other pet stores. Gotta go check it out!
Needless to say this is where I will be purchasing my pet supplies from now on!
We received a cat condo recently that came with bed bugs that we saw come out of the box. Chewy is refused to fix the bed bug infestation even after sending multiple pictures. They caused the bed bug problem shouldnt they fix their problem. This just proves chewy doesn't take responsibility or care about their customers. Now they are taking down my reviews because they don't want to lose business
My son bought me a $500 gift card n since I can't find it in my email I can't use it. I gave them all the info except for the pin #. N I was told no I need my son to call. My son is sick. Not happy! I shopped at chewy all the time.
Rav review!.
If you ever need pet supplies I HIGHLY recommend CHEWY.
Nala was diagnosed with ME 2 months ago and we had to start ordering her food that was about $75 a bag. So we ordered from chewy to get the subscription discount.
On the day Nala passed we had a brand new bag of food delivered. So I called and told them we would no longer need the subscription. They gave us a FULL refund and told us to donate the $75 bag of dog food in memory of Nala.
As if that was not kind enough I come home today to a flower bouquet and the sweetest note from Jennifer at CHEWY.COM.
This my friends is Customer Service and a beyond amazing company
I have been using chewy for a few years for all my pets. Recently my dog passed away and a couple weeks later in the mail is a pet portrait from chewy.com. It was a picture of my dog and I couldn't be more thankful for chewy for doing that. It was meant to be.
I'm usually too lazy to write a review, but I've been ordering food and what not from them for a couple years and recently was the second time I called customer service and I am amazed at how great chewy is. First time I called because a package went missing and they made the process super easy and quickly got me the replacement package. Second time I wasn't happy with the quality of the cat tower (it's very nice but too light and my 20 lbs cat makes it fall over when he pounces off of it) instead of making me go through the return process they arranged for me to donate the cat tower to a local shelter and get my full refund. ( I'm super happy I get money back and shelter kitties get a gift from chewy)
And on top of all, I work crazy hours and it's a pain in the bum to find time at a decent hour to call any kind of customer service, but chewy is available anytime! I called them at 2 am and the representative answered almost immediately.
Worse company ever, lie to you on pick up, only found out from a manager after the fact. Made us have to drive to FedEx to drop to huge items off for return. Made us miss an appointment with zero care and why because their incompetent employees lie to you and have no clue what the hell their doing!
My husband and I lost our furbaby (Kahoku) on Saturday 1/15/2022. However, we had purchased a few items from Chewy prior to his passing. The day after he passed, I received some of the items we ordered. I called Chewy and spoke to Adam (I'm sorry I can't be sure of his name I was a sad due to our situation and not thinking clearly) about possibly returning those items. He was sympathetic and patient he said it was ok and he made sure all our recent orders were credited back to our card and cancelled our auto shipments. Today 1/17/2022, my husband received a vase with flowers and a nice sympathy note from Chewy. Even though Kahoku is no longer with us, we will have another companion someday and because of their thoughtfulness and caring we will always be loyal customers. Thank you for your kindness and support during this difficult time. #chewygivesback (trying to post to their website)
After my delivery showed delivered I called and they immediately resent item. To my dismay it happened again, that's when I realized the address was typed in wrong. After walking down the street to get my package from my neighbor, his lying $#*! denied receiving any packages. I called customer service again they resent 2 of the prescription cat foods my poor sick cat has been waiting on and refunded me some money. Needless to say they went above and beyond for a mistake on my end!
If I could give no stars I would! This company has the worst customer service! I needed to get my dogs heart medicine and after the RX being mailed and faxed twice they still never got it! Spoke with 6 representatives all gave me wrong information. If your animal needs medication to live DO NOT trust this company!
WE live remotely in the mountains, we relied on Chewy to deliver out dogs medication. Fedex left our dogs medication at our gate instead of leaving the medication in the container located at our gate. We had hurricane force winds for days so the package blew away. We have been trying for a week to get our medication. Three different people at Chewy informed us its on the way, still hasn't shipped. They don't care about your pet. We cannot rely on Chewy or Fedex to do there job. I will pick up my dogs medication at the vets.
My order has been moved back three times now and I can't find it in a store, so I'm having to feed my dog other food while chewy and their shipping partners try to get the order to my house. Not very happy with the shipping.
We have been using Chewy for quite some time. They have an excellent turnaround time, competitive prices, and can schedule for repetitive orders (auto refill). They have such as great variety and is a one stop shop for your pets.
I had been using chewy for over a year and it was great and then an auto-ship placed an order 3 weeks too early and it was delivered. I then had to wait until the $200+ order with all of my dogs medicines arrived to return them and for them to even process a refund. This process took me 4 phone calls, 3 transfers to managers and supervisors because of errors on Chewy's end, an accumulated 2 hours of my time over a period of a holiday week and beginning of the month. An inconvenient drive to FedEx and customer service saying they started a refund 5 days prior to them actually starting the refund process. The fact I received nothing for the auto ship error and the time and frustration I spent with this I suspended/deactivated everything, which will further cause me more inconvenience not having delivery. I would advise everyone that uses Chewy to never use there auto ship and watch out for every transaction. For such a large company you would think they would have better ways to manage issues like this.
Answer: No trouble at all. They have the best customer service/replacement/refund practices I've ever encountered. By all means, contact them again if you're having an issue.
Answer: If you are having trouble returning an item, call Customer Service and ask them to assist you. My understanding for returns is any item can be returned, even if it has been used you may return it within 1 year of original purchase. Their Custom Service is available 24 hours, 7 days a week. So, if you work odd hours you don't to wait until Customer Service is available.
Answer: Because they make it a point to lie and deceive their customers... I will NEVER use them again!
Answer: Ever thought of reading the FAQ posted on EVERY SINGLE COMPANIES WEBSITE to answer your own questions? Companies post these FAQ's for a reason. Too bad people are too lazy to read them. Then you scream at the reps you speak to due to your own stupidity levels in NOT READING A COMPANIES POLICIES. FYI it is a CONSUMERS RESPONSIBILITY to read those policies as the company already knows their own policies. FYI shipping from the USA to Canada cost customs fees and taxes which are NOT refundable and if you chose to return an item you will will incur these fees again and YOU are responsible for paying for them not the company you do business with. International shipping also requires proper documentation to get packages through customs. Not every USA company has the man power to deal with this enormous amount of work nor do they wish to deal with the headaches involved with shipping outside of the USA. How so many of you Canadians do not know this information is mind boggling.
Answer: Because they have free shipping over $49. It is FREE OVER $49.
