They upload the wrong answers consistently and when you ask for a refund because it was not helpful, they say they will and then 2 minutes later another agent pops up and says we cannot honour it. Everytime I got it, they had uploaded the wrong answers and choppy language in the answers with lots of typos. It looks like the people who answer are not verified either. Terrible company as you call them and waste time with them but they will just say they cannot do anything and they hard a hard refund policy so it appears that they know they are a scam.
I havent been a student in 2 years and figured my subscription lapsed when I didnt update my billing or renew. BUT they bill "your bank" so they have access to allllll your renewed credit cards and do not notify you when they update the payment. I was billed for 2 YEARS without a single notification or email. Yes i know a lesson learned to check your statements, but $15 a month just slipped below my radar. I checked the last confirmation I ever received from them was my initial subscription over 3 years. They are unethical for the sneaky autosubscriptions and access to your bank and credit cards!
What ever you do, never ever subscribe to this website. They won't give you refund even though you haven't use it for single sentence. There is so many useless thing and not the one you want
I find it to be of an unfair practice (abuse) to not provide clear disclosure and ensure that your customers are properly informed with terms & conditions(hidden). I spoke with a representative on today (Amanjed) out of Santa Clara, CA. I advised her of an unauthorized transaction (a 12 year old) within minutes of it occurring( via my financial institution text alert). Amanjed further advised that there was nothing she could do as far as refunding my account, nor was I allowed to speak with a supervisor; I was further advised to use the unauthorized services for the remainder of the month due to Chegg policy. Also, when initially questioning for the address of the company Amanjed proceeded to instruct me to perform a google search. This is very un-business like and very unfair to any customer as to when services are to be extended/rendered. I am very dissatisfied with the outcome of this incident on today and would like to receive a follow up.
Very disapponted from this "educational" platform with majority of answers are wrong and they have no interest on any refund! This is a horrible way of doing business! Education without integrity is horrible model of business!
So they're not lying about anything technically and the platform idea is good but the business moto is a scam.
I tried the website for an exam that I had, and I bought the subscription hoping to find some answers or get some help. They don't offer any good solution mostly, the people answering aren't real experts, they copy answers from other similar topics and put it up in your post and then beg for up-votes. Worst of all when I figured out what a huge scam it is and I tried to contact the support to get my money back after a couple of hours, in true scammer spirit they denied it.
Long story short if you're trying to test the water and see if it's a good app or not, take it from me, it isn't...
I ordered a statistics textbook from Chegg. Part way through my semester I discovered it was missing multiple chapters and repeated other chapters. The large chunks of missing materials made it impossible for me to get the information I needed for class - information I paid for when I rented the book. I called to have the book flagged so this doesn't happen to anybody else. I asked about a refund but was told I was out of the 21 day refund period so there is not anything they can do. Nobody reads an entire textbook in 21 days. If they can just send partial textbooks and not make it right, I would highly recommend using a different company.
I canceled my Subscription on June 30,2022, but they said that it would take effect on July 30,2022. That means that I am still subscribing for the month of August as the charge today would be for next month (August). If you're planning on using Chegg, please don't, or if you really want to use their services, make sure to cancel it early.
They informed to the university about the questions that I posted on their website. I didn't even copy anything from that horrible website but I still got F for posting the questions. They even provided the IP address to the university. DO NOT TRUST Chegg, they will sabotage you. Does university can give F to the students just because he/she posted the question online?
They give you 20 questions, and if they answered wrong they don't refund it they only refund 3 questions. I had 10 questions that answered wrong and they didn't refund it. I paid for nothing. DON'T WORTH IT!
Chegg claimed that I shared my account 15 times in 6 weeks and keep suspend my account and never refunded my money. After everything I tried, reset account, allow Chegg to use my location etc… I followed every steps they advised me to take and today they suspended It again 3 days after I spoke to a supervisor who granted access after she determined that the account was not share. This company is fraud and I will contact BBB and my state attorney tomorrow. I need all the money I paid to them back plus reparations fees.
Where to begin, can't select zero stars, the option isn't available, just like Chegg's site. They make sure their customers have the fewest options possible. Prepare for a user experience that will make you feel like you're an infant. Want customer service chat? Too bad. You can TEXT them! Is it obvious/easy to find? *sigh*... Want to set your primary payment method? You gotta call or text. Want to remove a payment method? Call or text. Want to find support pages? You're better off googling what you need with Chegg in quotation marks so you can navigate their site because within it, you will be lost, there are infinite dead-ends and non-intuitive pitfalls. I can't tell you how many times I've tried to navigate their site, only to remind myself I am stupid for not just trusting Google to get me to the right place instead. Whoever designed this site is the actual antichrist. You may be able to find a place to sell your soul in their website, but you won't find any reasonable site functions otherwise without a chat. For a company that has exploded and revenue of 776.3 Million dollars... you would think they'd offer their customers ya know... a customer service chat? The ability to manage your payment options? Not being repeatedly given a tour of the site if I'm away for a little while? Not repeatedly getting inundated with two-factor authentications? In short, Chegg is a necessary evil for Engineering students. This is one of the many reasons I'm looking forward to graduating. I can't wait to dump Chegg because it is actual hot garbage, so is its support.
On May 23, my daughter cancelled her subscription. On May 25, we were charged for another month anyway. She called customer service and was told she didn't click the last button to ensure the cancellation went through. So she cancelled again. This time she got a confirmation that it was cancelled. Unfortunately she didn't save a screen shot.
Today, June 25, we were charged for another month. She went back in to the account and all indications of the cancellation were gone. This is outrageous. The subscription was CANCELLED and someone at Chegg clearly reversed the cancellation to charge us again for a product we no longer use. Is this what happened in May, too? We gave them the benefit of the doubt then, but it seems clear now they must be scamming God knows how many users this way.
We cancelled AGAIN. This time I have a screenshot. I'll update if we get charged again or if they refund the 2 charges made after the original cancellation, as I have requested
This company is a SCAM... once you sign up, cannot get rid of its billings... disputed with company, then suddenly restarted the billings... promise to stop again... restarted... been six months... complete SCAM and likely FRAUD... not using its services, but continue to charge my credit card...
I HAD a subscription service with Chegg for a while but have cancelled the service because i requested a refund of 1 month fee because I was not using during the summer months, the fees are automatically charged. They refused; customer service refused along with the Manager. (they say he was a manager) They kept me on hold for 20 mins before finding someone who could help me. This is ridiculous and NOT good service. I have notified my College and other blackboards in my area.
I am highly disappointed and do not recommend this service! The rating are already horrible, i should have followed the standard and not use this service.
I cancelled my subscription back in Nov. 2021 and then received an email today that I was charged for the subscription which I don't use. I unfortunately slack at checking my account because my life is busy. Today when I received the email I logged into my old Chegg account and noticed that my subscription had been reinstated back in April. So I have been getting charged for 3 months without my knowledge or consent, I contacted customer support and they said that there is nothing that they could do and could not explain to be why my account was being charged after I cancelled in Nov.
My only explanation would be that when I spoke to a Rep in Nov. That they only paused my account and didn't actually cancel it as I had requested. Now I'm out $75 for something that I don't use
I paid 100.00 for a terribly worn textbook and an ebook that i cannot access. There is a problem with my password- no matter how many times I change it it says its wrong. The one time I got in it said I have no history of payments or books- which is bull. This place is a rip-off and should be shut down.
Not helpful at all! Don't waste your money on here. Customer service is inconsiderate!
Hi
I subscribed to Chegg, and each time I pay after 10-15 mins I get email says my transaction declined, and I paid four time but nothing happened. I am not getting my payments back please tell how can I get payments back and how do I remove my card details from chegg account.
They guys are not responding to my mails or chats
Answer: Half real half scam wil work for a day or 2 then lock you out
Answer: The monthly money is for an additional service. You can opt out of it at the time of your order. Supposedly. Check other reviews. Many of them say they were still charged after canceling the service. My best suggestion is to stay away from Chegg if at all possible.
