I gave one star because I had to. Chegg is not an honest company. I rented two books and when it was time to return I called asking for a return label and was told one was coming to me. It never came so I kept paying for extensions. I am disabled and live on a fixed income. The person I spoke to said a label would arrive. Waiting for it to come again never happened. Today they tried to bill me to buy their books. I contacted PayPal that corrected the situation. Books still here waiting for the label. Students beware, Chegg is not the company to do business with. They already made over 161.00 and still no label.
If you use Chegg, no that they will report your use to the college/university if contacted. They will hand over your information to the college/university for violation of their honor code or academic dishonesty even though you paid for the service. They will hand you over and throw you under the bus. If you use their service, they will contribute to the detriment of your future.
Chegg is not good at first it was okay but after a week I cannot even sign in. Don't waste your money
I would give it zero star. I never share my account with anyone, but I got suspended for something I do, such as forgot to logout the first device before login the second device, forgot logout the VPN, searching from browser instead from Chegg. Those kind of thing it is very easy to forget. The first few times they are willing to re-instate for me when I call. Then they refuse to re-instate for me. So I was out of service for 2 days. If Chegg want to prevent account share, why rule-obeying people like us has to suffer. Chegg logo is " Student first". That is funny. Aside from that. Many solution in Chegg is not as well explained as in Slader. Unfortunaly, Slader does not have as much data is Chegg. My advice is use Slader if it meet your needs. Don't spend money for Chegg unless you have to.
I tried to used their services because they seem to be very popular, their advertisments are everywhere, and Google rnaks them high. But! My experience was not as good as I hoped. My question was not solved properly and within a set period of time. Dissatisfied
Worst customer service. They have no idea what they are doing. They charge your account but doesn't provide service
Their stupid tracking system sucks. I use my work and home computer and it always says I reached my max limit. They are so greedy. They are constantly suspending my account.
I ordered a book and it took 2 MONTHS to get it- the class had already stared 3 weeks in and then I received the book after many emails- not returned.
Then I signed up for the online service. DON'T WASTE YOUR MONEY! I've had to verify my laptop (in my home always so same wifi, same laptop... the only one I own) every time I sign on! Then THEN if I sign on more than twice in a month i get a message that I've "already verified my maximum amount of computers for the month" so I can't even use the service! What the actual f*#@! WASTE OF TIME AND MONEY!
I subscribed to Chegg, sold by their ads for tutoring, and academic resources - like test banks and guided answers. All of them are useless. I am a STEM major at a competitive university, and their resources are almost always 100% incorrect. The ones that are correct, however, are not guided and they expect you to copy the online answers and turn it in. Also, they will work with your university to track you down via your banking info and IP address if you copy and cheat, so don't do that (word of advice). So, Chegg's online questions, are incomplete, with wrong answers. Let's try their tutors, shall we? I have tried to work on worksheet problems with their "accredited tutors" only to find them humbly admitting that they really don't know what to do and that Chegg pays them even if their answers are WRONG. Yes, Chegg does not vet their answers AT ALL. Chegg is only useful to people who think they can get away with copying answers that show work, and may get them partial credit. But, they also track every single click on your account and will turn over all the info they have on you, like IP addresses, and banking information to the universities if asked. This ensures that whatever you do on Chegg, whatever is viewed, even specific questions, comments, etc. will be viewable by your school's judicial services. This is one of the "third parties" that Chegg will share your information with, if asked. At my school, the judicial officers regularly comb through who viewed any posts on Chegg pertaining to anything worth credit in a class since that does constitute cheating. In my opinion as a pre-med undergraduate at a competitive UC, Chegg is a waste of time and money.
They SUSPEND accounts for NO REASON! They suspended my account for shared usage when I did not share it with anyone. They even REFUSED to REFUND my money! NEVER USING CHEGG AGAIN!.
Please use alternatives such as bots on discord which provide chegg answers for free, this is a waste of money honestly.
I would give this company/site zero stars if I could. They are a greedy, toxic, disgusting company who preys on peoples money and need for help on homework/studying. Bought this and tried to use the features but it suspended me after claiming that I had too many accounts open/devices. IT WAS MY PHONE. Useless piece of crap company. Good for absolutely nothing! Save your money folks.
They offer 4 weeks of free Chegg Study when renting an ebook. Nope, not if you have had it before. Yet says nothing about it in the terms and conditions. Cancelled ebook, got my money back and rented from the bookstore. Last time I ever consider using Chegg.
Seriously I do not understand how they are still in business. They will still your money I promise you that!, and they have the worst customer service ever BY FAAAAR!. My books just despaired on me for no reason in the middle of the semester and they never answer my questions right. One star is even too much for them I wish I can give them negative five starts, not just ZERO.
FOR ANYONE SEEING THE "DEVICE LIMIT" BUG READ THIS:
How to get around it:
1) Type in question in the search bar
2) Find desired answer
3) Click and scroll down as fast as possible(A mouse makes it easier)
4) You should see some of the answer if scrolled down far enough before the screen freezes
5) If there as an image as an answer right click it and save it to your computer (Open it to view the answer)
6) Crtl+p and scroll down the pages(Most of answer should be there)
7)Repeat this process for all of your questions
I hope this helps. I have no tried it on MAC or mobile. Spread this message to help everyone get through their classes!
So, Chegg is notorious among college students, and professors are frankly lazy, which is why this site exists. I say they're lazy because hundreds of schools use the exact same homework in each course. The issue comes into play with the answer accuracy. It's awful.
I paid for this service last year during midterms to help me with some of the busywork. Turns out the textbook questions and answers were only 70% correct. This is awful, and for $15 per month, no way. This was consistent in multiple textbooks. My chemistry textbook was the exception, but questions were still not accurate, erven if they did create a valid framework to work off of.
And here's a big dinger on the questions. You can vote on how helpful the answer was. A question answered FOUR YEARS PRIOR had 200 downvotes and 10 upvotes and is still there as the only answer and advertised as available. Stay away.
Customer support is where it takes another bad turn; absolutely no refunds for any reason. Couldn't get the money back from my bank either because technically their terms of service to explicitly prevent refunds, but if you can't use the service, then they should give you your money back.
Stay away; yahoo answers was surprisingly more helpful.
Waste of money and most definitely my time. 2 hours tonight on the phone with customer service trying to resolve some bug which appears to be clearly due to Chegg's new greedy two devices per month roll out which came with lots of problems. Every time I log in (FROM THE SAME COMPUTER!) I receive a notification that I have reached my maximum devices and that only two swaps are allowed per month. Customer service cannot fix the problem but they have no issues getting that payment! Still unable to use the service. After 4 attempts with Chegg going through the steps to fix their so called BUG, I now receive account restricted. I have logged in and out and changed my password 5 times and cleared my browser and history and added Chegg to the cookies and still nothing. Trying to complete and assignment tonight by midnight and once again Chegg you are a waste of my time.
Do not use this company! My daughter rented books from Chegg and when the books were not returned they charged my credit card over $800. When I called I was told they tried to charge her card (the card used to rent the books) but there was not enough funds on hers so they charged mine. My card was on file from a transaction from years prior and they were told numerous times to remove it. Still fighting this with them and my credit card company 3 months later!
I ordered 4 textbooks in hopes of receiving them the first week of school. I ordered the books August 22nd. It is now September 6th and the books are still "pending shipping". I attempted to cancel the order 4 times already and have not received an email or any other indication saying that I will be refunded the money I spent on the textbooks. I am so disappointed and worried about how I will catch up with my school work without my materials. STAY AWAY FROM CHEGG PLEASE
I started my chegg account in 2017, I kept it open and closed on and off until April 2020.
In 2019 I started getting duplicate charges every month to a credit card I don't look at the statements. I found this out in April when I went and looked at the statement.
Turned out SOMEHOW a duplicate account was made of mine missing just ONE letter of the email. $250 of charges that chegg will NOT refund. I did not create this account, I have had the same account open from 2017.
This is insane!
Don't trust this website my debit card was being charged extra and my bank transaction show people using my money purchase item from amazon this showed this website sell ur personal information and this website does not provide a clear answer solution.
Answer: Half real half scam wil work for a day or 2 then lock you out
Answer: The monthly money is for an additional service. You can opt out of it at the time of your order. Supposedly. Check other reviews. Many of them say they were still charged after canceling the service. My best suggestion is to stay away from Chegg if at all possible.
