Scammers supported by airline company and the govt of canada. Stole my money by saying airline has not refunded them the money but when i talked to airline, airline said, they did refunded to them to give it back to their consumers. Now they are telling me to forget about the money and dont be a $#*!
Cheapoair literally stole my money, that too, in a Covid situation. Never go with them. I booked a roundtrip ticket to India from the US in March, 2021. I was supposed to leave in May and return to the US in July. I booked my tickets through CheapOair, and they told me that my airlines were ‘Qatar and other'. My tickets were from Des Moines to Chicago with American Airlines, and from Chicago to Doha with Qatar airlines. Due to the severe Covid outbreak in India, I could not go. It was not by my choice; the US had banned travel from India; so, I was forced to cancel my trip. CheapOair didn't want to give me a refund. They were deducting a lot of money, so I took travel credits instead. The ticket was priced around $1400 already (not so cheap), and they charged me a penalty fee because I proactively canceled my tickets. (Even though it was a real severe Covid time and the situation was so bad that I might have died or carried the virus to my family if I went). They are the most inconsiderate people.
Now I'm going in December, and I have booked my tickets through CheapOair since I had travel credits ($1400 that's stuck with them) with them. I've been cheated by CheapOair with the amount of money they've charged me. On top of the travel credit of $1400, CheapOair charged me an additional $1236 for the round-trip tickets. So, I'm paying $2656 in total for an economy class round trip to India from the US, plus the cancelation fee. This is an unreasonably high price, especially because I'm leaving on 24th to avoid the high prices before that, and I am a student. The reason CheapOair gave me was that the pricing has to be through American Airlines, so they cannot do anything with that, and it's up to American Airlines and that's how my pricing will be if I want to use my travel credits
Answer: I would not use Cheapo under any circumstances. Look at the 698 (!) complaints at the Better Business Bureau website. They hide under the name Fareportal, which is the parent company.
Answer: Don't use them. Book through the airline. I paid to select my seats, then a week before my flight they put me and my companion in the middle seats in different rows!
