We used to regularly use CheapOAir.com. We recently tried to book a trip and were quoted $3,000. I called in with a question and they said they could do the trip for $2800 to help out. The phone was hard to hear so he got my call back number and called me back. As he was processing my card, we get disconnected and he never calls back. I call back about 2 hours later, and I'm told my trip went from $2800 to $3800! They wouldn't honor the price so I got pissed and told them never mind. THEN, I jump back on their website a few days later and I see my trip is not $3k again! So I call in, verifying everything before I book. This time the guy says he can do the EXACT trip for $2900. I say go for it, then he goes, "oh wait, now it's $3200". I say "well I have your website right in front of me and its $3000. He says "then book it there", so I do. He asks for the CONFIRMATION number, which I give him and he says, yeah, that's going to be $350 MORE than I had a confirmed trip booked for. No other reason besides "The price went up". So I have a booking number with a $3k price tag that is useless and they are now charging me $3300. I have to go on this trip so they have me over a barrel. The worst experience I've ever had. Keep in mind he said "the automated system comes up with the pricing and its not always accurate". Well, this company is owned by Travelocity, which also owns Expedia and other sites. You'd think that they would have that part of their business nailed down by now. I will never book with any other companies under the CheapOAir or Travelocity family of companies ever again.

You call in to customer service and they jerk you around after you received a booking confirmation. They told me I owe another $350 after I had a confirmation number. Sleezy and shady practice. I will book elsewhere from now on.

To whom it may concern,
On Dec 10,2022, I called CheapOair to cancel my tickets and become aware of their requirements. They told me you can cancel tickets and have a credit to buy new tickets until September 2023. I agreed to cancel the tickets and paid $100.2 days later, they called me and said that they had missed some parts of the updates from Austrian Airlines and you have to buy tickets now before the date of tickets (28th of December). They checked the prices and told me that I need to pay around $2500 more for new tickets.
I told them that I don't have this money now and I made this decision based on their wrong information. They called me again and told me that Austrian Airlines will refund the money. Another day, again they called me and said that the Austrian airline did not agree to refund the money. This situation is annoying, just wasted time and money. After several times of calling and talking, they told me they will check and either refund the money or give me a credit until next September but, they never called me again and now I do not know what is the fate of my tickets. It is not fare. I am an international student and this money is huge for me. There is nobody to accept responsibility for this problem. CheapOair does not care about its customers.
It was quick and knowledgeable. The connection line needs to be clearer, however.
My Husband and I are still ill with long Covid, I was able to move the flight date 3 times and each time paid extra. Now we are still ill and cannot fly and I can no longer change flight dates. Thus I lose all our money invested in this Cheap Flight well over $2000 cdn.

Answer: I would not use Cheapo under any circumstances. Look at the 698 (!) complaints at the Better Business Bureau website. They hide under the name Fareportal, which is the parent company.
Answer: Don't use them. Book through the airline. I paid to select my seats, then a week before my flight they put me and my companion in the middle seats in different rows!
Answer: Security may not be an issue but they can cheat you by hiding information you should know. I would suggest to not use them and their customer service personnel are also worst I have ever seen.
