I received my Bearded Dragon Fri. June 5th and he died last night. When he arrived he was very low energy and wouldn't wake up. He wouldn't hardly eat anything and never drank water. He was a baby and we understand that sometimes animals just don't make it but what bothers us is we left multiple emails expressing our concerns about our beardie. We ask for someone to call us and we left our number and I called and left a voicemail asking, "please call me back". All we got was an email telling us to leave him alone and don't handle him and make sure he had water. Well after sending more emails in concern and never hearing back from them we took him to the vet where they kept him for 2 days, finally dying last night of malnutrition. Thing is we had him for only 2 1/2 days before we took him in and they said he was too skinny for his length and bones were fragile from lack of calcium. I see other reviews that are good ones so why was I sent a sick Bearded Dragon, and why didn't anyone call me back like I ask? If we'd have know he wasn't supposed to be acting like he was wed have taken him to the vet earlier and maybe they would have had more time to rehabilitate him. Let's see if they stand by their guarantee.
I recently acquired a juvenile blue axanthic iguana from cbreptile. Shipping speed wasn't as bad As some people are making it out to be. Once the iguana was shipped, it arrived very soon after. I was not very impressed with packaging. He arrived in a bag within a box with wadded paper as insulation and nothing to regulate temperature, so he arrived a bit cooler than what I would have liked. They did not include any paperwork either, not even an invoice or care sheet. Just a tiny lizard in a box. I'd also ordered the "big baby", which is supposed to be 4-7 months old. Mine is clearly barely 3 months if that old, maybe 10-11 inches nose to tail tip. He was also moderately dehydrated upon arrival, as you can see in the photo, which does not happen overnight or during transit. That was very disappointing and quite scary to be honest, it speaks volumes about their husbandry situation, I'm hoping it's a fluke thing. I am a vet tech at an exotic veterinary clinic, so trust I know what I'm talking about. I had to immediately soak him and increase humidity in his enclosure. He does seem socialized which is a plus, he is not scared of me at all and was quick to explore and eat some fresh veggies and fruit, once he had hydrated a bit and basked in the heat under the humidifier for a couple hours. I love him to pieces already, I just really hope his health doesn't suffer any serious consequences from this. My dad who ordered him for me was told they only have a 2 day health guarantee, (they say 7 days online) which I already found sketchy, so I went ahead and told them about his condition when he arrived. Just in case. He seems ok now but you never know with baby reptiles...
So cons: packaging, lack of information, questionable health of animal, possible incorrect age of animal, and short (and concerning) health guarantee
Pros: price, prompt shipping, responsive to emails, and absolutely gorgeous specimen that seems to have been handled and socialized previously.
I gave 4 stars for now, It may change depending on how they handle this situation, and I may or may not recommend them to others and/or buy from them again. Currently I'm still thinking a small scale herp breeder is the best way to go. But I am happy with my little baby blue iguana and love him already. Let's hope all goes well!
Placed an order on 5/08/2020 and have called multiple times. Still have not received my pet, hardly no one ever answers the phone. When I finally got threw to them they stated they had sent me an email that the reptile I ordered was out of stock and they could ship me a different one,(never received an email) that was almost two week ago still with no reptile. I ordered a panther chameleon for my 10 year anniversary so I am very disappointed in this place. So im out almost $500 without an reptile
I ordered a baby pied ball python and not only did he come super fast he was packaged very nicely. The little guy is very beautiful and warmed up to us a lot quicker than expected! I have and will continue to recommend CB to others!
My experience has been one that's up and down.
This morning I received my beautiful ambilobe male and hes absolutely stunning and just so sweet.
The only thing that bothered me a little is hes a little older than I asked for. I purchased a juvenile which is supposed to be between the ages of 3.5-6 months. But I received a 7 month old. So I received a young adult when I specifically purchased a juvenile.
I plan on keeping him because I'm absolutely in love and hes sweet as can be, but I wish they would have told me ahead of time that he would be a little older.
When I checked out, I put in the notes section which color combo i would like(i was hoping for ybbb) which I was told was out of stock. (I then checked on the website to see if the ybbb were out of stock and it did not say so.) So I would be receiving a rbbb. Which was fine, I wasnt super picky about the colors. But still frustrating.
I also purchased a mist king kit, which I wasnt informed about it being out of stock till after I already purchased it.
When I asked if they could do overnight shipping for it once they get them back in stock, I was told they would only do 3 day shipping.
So now I'm out of the misting system (that wouldve made his transition here much easier) for who knows how long.
I also wanted to say that his heating pack in his travel box wasnt very warm when he arrived. It makes me wonder how long he truly had been in the box waiting for shipping.
Overall, I love my new little man to the moon and back, but I wish they would keep their website updated with what items are unavailable and be true to what they're selling. When asking for a certain age, I expect a certain age.
FURTHERMORE- I PUT THIS SAME REVIEW UP ON THEIR PAGE AND IT WAS TAKEN DOWN. THEY ONLY POST THEIR 5 STAR REVIEWS. I WOULDVE POSTED 3 STARS BUT FOR THIS. THEY GET 2
I just wanted to say how great these guys are at what they do. Firstly, they have the nicest tortoises and bearded dragons I've ever purchased and I've purchase multiple from CB reptile over the years. Secondly they're care in customer service is so much better than you'd expect and lastly, they've got a great responsible shipping department! My animals always arrive age and sound and on time. I would give ten stars if I could. Big fan of cb reptile since 2010!
I purchased 2 tortoises for sale from cb reptile last month and they arrived the next morning, well packaged, healthy and active. Their customer service also was very good at answering all of my questions quickly.
Answer: I pick random reptile shops for the hell of it I trust anyone(it's a flaw)
Answer: The reason why you didn't receive any shipping information is because they are a scam company that doesn't follow their own rules. They may not even have the reptiles that they sold you and are waiting for them to hatch or will find them anyway they can without regard to the animal's health or the customers wallet.
Answer: Scam reptile mill company don't support them they don't care for their reptiles and defraud their customers.
