I purchased a $200 lululemon egift card. I was concerned that I did not receive a confirmation email. I reached out to customer service, and they were quick to review my order. It was a mistake on my end (typo). The gift card had been sent successfully upon ordering, and customer service was excellent. Thank you!
Sent a Starbucks gift card, then received an email stating the following:
We're sorry. We were unable to process your eGift Card order from Starbucks.
Settled charges will be refunded to the original form of payment. Pending authorizations do not represent capture of funds and will expire according to the policies of the financial institution.
If you have any questions or concerns, please email us at or call *******208 from 8:00 AM to 8:00 PM ET, seven days a week. Please refer to order number
So they charged my credit card, I know, still pending. Tried it once more, this time through the app - same thing. Seems that this is a common problem.
Cash Star is the worst payment processing company. Absolute SCUM.
The first 2 times I used this service it was great for Subway. I often give away gifts on a Social Media page. Last week 2 went through the 3rd was a bad email address, I immediately fixed the issue. The card was never sent and when I reached out again they told me to contact Subway directly. Today I received another answer from them instructing me to go to Subway online and use the contact us page... which I have already done. NEVER AGAIN.
I purchased an e-gift card for my son & daughter-in-law's birthdays from IKEA.
They never received the e-gift card but Cashstar immediately withdrew the $200.00 from my checking account. I called to cancel the e-gift card and requested a refund. Still no refund in my checking account. When I call Cashstar, I get some story about "they" will escalate my request for refund. But ask them who "they" are or that I want to speak to "they" and told that's not possible. What a joke! These brand name merchants should not deal with this scam company.
I'll never trust another store's gift cards again.
I purchased a Home Depot Gift Card via the homedepot.com website for $150 dollars. The recipient received it two days later - pretty quick! I thought. He tried to use the card the next day at a local HD - and was told "Sir, this card is invalid it is not in the system". He went to Customer Service "Sir this card is not in the system it may be fraudulent". Great, now my son-in-law thinks I am a cheapskate and sending phony gift cards as gifts! He tells me what happened, so I call the phone number provided in my gift card confirmation email *******365 - and after swimming though a terrible phone system I finally get a human on the line - albeit from Costa Rica. I review the issue, provide my order number - and am told this "Sir, that card has not even been shipped the recipient is attempting some sort of fraudulent activity!" - SILENCE on my end of the phone as I reign in my blood pressure. After 30 minutes of this nonsense - "Sir the card has not shipped yet" -- I hung up, tell my son-in-law the story and we agree to wait a few days. Two days go by I call again - keep in mind he has the card in his possession - and it still does NOT work. He tried a few days later - same result. I call again! Now I just ask for the "person in the room with the biggest title". Well, as you can suspect this did nothing for my blood pressure an dthey were useless in determining what the issue was. - "Sir, can you provide the last 4 digits on the card?" - "Why no I cannot it was a GIFT to someone else!" - "Sir the system is showing this card has not been shipped yet!" - Of course recipient has had it in his possession for almost a week now... so we wait a week. I call again "Sir, good news... the card has shipped!" - Yeah, no sh*t Sherlock -- "Is it active?" - "Oh Sir, we cannot tell you that from our system - have the recipient go back to HD and try again". -- Still does not work... needless to say now I have to get my money back -- this should take what, 10 phone calls? NEVER EVER EVER AGAIN will I order one of these online -- If I feel the need to give a gift card, I will shlepp to a store (it is 2020 isn't it?) and purchase one at the checkout -- or just go to LOWES...
Set up a group e-gift card for Home Depot through CashStar & had problems with contributions not being credited or payment denied. No good way to contact them except email which takes way too long for a response. Will never do business with them again & neither will the other contributors.
I am out $200 from purchasing a gift from this site, I recommend you do not use this site. They are a vendor and do not stand up for the consumer. Just take your money, I will be contacting the better business bureau.
I will rate this company a "1" because that is the lowest number available. I purchased a Home Depot gift card for my BRO's birthday and received confirmation. Four days later, zero balance and Home Depot could not find any information as it was sold by Cash Star. I read other reviews and have determined this is a common thing with this company. Had I known earlier that I was not dealing with Home Depot directly, I would never have purchased. Fooled me once - never again! JS! :(
Bad business! I ordered $500 home depot giftcard and when I used it. It doesnt work its INVALID. And you cant talk to anybody to take care of it. Home depot said call cashstar and cash star said call homedepot. ICANT BELIEVED THEY SENT ME AN INVALID GIFTCARD WORTH $500.AND I CANT GET A HOLD OF ANYBODY TO FIX THE PROBLEM.
I tried getting a Starbucks gift card and never received. There's no customer service and thank God my bank called me on the charges. They had blocked it as fraud. And now I have to go thru the hassel of new card. Bank shut mine down
Last night on the Brooks Brothers website I input my gift card number and went to finalize a purchase, but received a message saying the item was now out of stock. Later in the evening I picked other items and tried to purchase them, but the gift card balance was then zero. I called Cashstar and gave them the e gift card number and explained the situation. They said the purchaser of the gift card would have to call them, and hung up on me. This morning the email with the link to the e gift card is missing from my inbox. It is not in my trash folder, or archives, and I did not delete. I called Brooks Brothers and they said they cannot help me and only Cash Star has access to e gift cards. Buyer beware.
Home Depot card purchased online as a gift mailed to a family member. There was a zero balance on the card when the family member tried to make a purchase. Home Depot referred me to CashStar. After hours on hold with Home Depot and CashStar, both who say I have to talk to the other, there has been no resolution. I am out $50. Not a large amount but now I have to buy a new gift after the fact.
They stole $50 digital gift card. Effing robbed me. How is this legal? I hope they rot in a shallow grave.
Make sure you are not dealing with CashStar when you buy from a retailer. Many companies contract with them to process their gift cards. I didn't realize when I bought a Joann's gift card that they were the processor. The gift card showed up with a $0 balance and won't help me online because they say the balance is $0. Duh, Joann's isn't answering their phones and been a week waiting on their customer service. Trying to dispute with my credit card, but that is taking forever too. NO one is answering phones during covid.
I was on best buy yesterday because i wanted to buy a bike. Which cost $2168. I wanted to use 2 cards but didnt had that option. Called customer service and they advise me to purchase 2 ecard and that should do the trick. I then decided to proceed with purchasing the cards online. After 30 minutes of not receiving the cards, i reached out to best buy with my order numbers. They then told me thats not their order numbers. I argued with the rep who was very rude. Didn't help at all. I then proceeded to email and notice that it was best buy cash star. Boy oh boy, i got on google and read all these horrible reviews and thought i got scammed. I reached out to my bank immediately to have them refund me my $1000. However the claims dept was close. I was supposed to get my cards info yesterday. I woke up this morning and i received emails from cashstar with my cards. I immediately use them. Because i was afraid they may ended up stealing my card info. I give it a 3 star because the reps were rude and secondly, they took forever to send me my cards. But i am here to say they are certainly not scammers, since i got to use it to buy my bike. Its very disappointing thought that best buy reps doesn't know their own third party vendors.
I was ripped off by cash star and Best Buy for $800 gift card! Never do business with them ever ever ever
Bought my wife a $500 gift card for Chico's through Cashstar. My wife went to use it and the balance was $3.83.
We called Chico's and Cashstar. They said an online order was placed and shipped to an address that was not ours. Neither
Company will give us the order information nor refund our money. They are both worthless.
Wish I had read their reviews before buying the gift card.
Will never use Cashstar again nor will my wife ever shop at Chico's again. Neither company could care less about their customers
Purchased an online uber giftcard. Received an email that the transaction had been processed and would receive the e-card shortly. Instead, I received an email that there was a problem "capturing payment"(even though the funds had been taken out of my account) and that I had to call in. Spent the next 3 hours on hold being switched around to different employees who were all unable to help me. I finally received the giftcard more than 10 hours after I ordered it. I had to contact Uber for assistance, as every single person that I spoke with at Cashstar was useless.
I purchased an e-giftcard through bestbuy.com, the gift card was never delivered, this company will not answer the phone and somehow the call is always disconnected. They will not issue any refund and refuse to correct the problem, but had no problem taking the money out of my account immediately. Best buy can not fix any issues with e-gift cards and direct all calls to the scam company. With a reputation like best buy I do not understand why they would associate themselves with a company like cashstar. Cashstar, do the world a favor and go out of business, file for bankruptcy, and dont come back.
Do Not Deal With this Company. I bought a Texas Roadouse gift certificate and sent it to friends. Ordered the card on Feb, 6 2020 and they recieved it on feb, 10,2020. I got an suspicious email today 2/14/2020 saying the the card is unable to be activated. I called them and dealt with them for 30 minutes to find out the email is real and the card is no good. Offered me 10% of the card for my troubles. LOL I just spent 30 minutes on the phone with you and you're offering me $6. WOW thanks. Luckily my friends hadn't tried to use the card yet. What if they had shown up and ordered dinner and then found out the card was invalid? Only bright side is they refunded my money to my PayPal right away. Needless to say I will never do business with this comapny again.
