In my case I had the worst experience,we choose a vehicle submitted all the documents got approved paid down payment 5k and when we went to pick up the car it was bad they didn't even vacuum inside, bad tires when we showed it to the sales person they asked to give them some time to take care of it and schedule a another appointment after 4days and when we went after 4 days Guess what same thing they did not do anything of fix anything, why would you move an appointment when you are not gone fix anything except just wasting someone's time. Very unprofessional, would not recommend or buy anything from them.
First, it was just sign here, there the keys, your car is out front. No service. They put new tires on the vehicle but they weren't balanced so had to fork out $70 to balance them. Carvana suggested taking to the dealership under Powertrain warranty. Then while driving it started smoking. The oring on the oil filter had blown out because Carvana overfilled the oil. Also noticed the oring was dry rotted so looks like they didn't actually change the filter and oring. Scheduled under the 100 day warranty to find the other new seal leaks from the over fill. Carvana's response was that they aren't responsible. Don't buy from them. They don't actually service the vehicles or have incompetent maintenance. Contacted them about the costs and they stated they don't cover that and refused to escalate or allow me to speak with anyone. No different than the old school used car salesman.
I would give 0 stars if I could. Worst experience with a business I've EVER had. I bought a car from them via the app, and when I picked it up and drove it home, I realized it was a dud. It almost became undriveable on my first drive with it, so I turned around and took it back and explained everything to them. They have an exchange policy, so I decided to exchange the dud-car in for a new one. An employee over the phone walked me through the process and had me trust them. The next day, my bank account was completely empty and into the negatives, and my savings had been taken out. Why? Carvana double charged me on "accident". When I brought the problem up, they incessantly apologized and said they'd issue me a refund. It's day 5 of NO refund having been issued yet. They told me directly that they will NOT compensate me for their egregious mistake. So, my family and I have an EMPTY BANK ACCOUNT with half of our savings gone during the Thanksgiving holiday and Carvana doesn't care AT ALL. I am waiting for the refund to be "processed" after it has already been "initiated". This company is evil. They are what's wrong with modern day capitalism. They've literally destroyed our finances because of one employee's error. What do I do? I can't wait to hear about the day when this company goes out of business.
I have a really bad experience with carvanna I was told that I could not pick up the vehicle with because they cannot verify my documents so now I'm pretty much unable to get a vehicle and then the registration process that I was told I would get it with the registration from review, and I did one on the Better Business Bureau as well I was discriminated if you are African-American, do not purchase anything on them
This company is criminal. They took $790 out of bank account to initiate the sale. The sent my 15 pages of contract that like everyone else I didnt read. I didnt realize that if I didnt cancel in time they would keep $590. They said it was for the temporary hold on the car. How about the car didnt move so why should I pay $590. I can understand a fee but that is just criminal. They are taking advantage of people like me who in a desperate need of a car.
This was my GO TO PLACE a few years ago when I needed a car and was young and now; wow. I mean WOW I have to get a lawyer. I wanted to make a purchase. I went through the process and was ready for fees and so forth... Then Carvana had an error in their system and it took 3 days to get back to me. I canceled and decided not to go with it. Now being told an exception could be made it won't be for me because I did not cancel within 24 hours of the order date. Shipping is not refundable. Even if the cancellation was only due to their error, and was not known for 3 days of their processing...1200 dollars went along with root insurance money for a car I never even had delivered to me...The root insurance that they do not assist you with even though you go through them to get it...The mere fact that they said it was noted to speak with a manager for an exception and then they did not give it because of a 24-hour time frame that they could not provide information. Happy for all those it went great for them as I am sure people will continue to use them, just wouldn't count on it. If I could have given 0 and still written something because I read the stories and said Naw not Carvana, I used them like so long ago and it was kinda cool, NOW LOOK AT ME (smh). As this time frame is from 10/30 the day of trying to 11/2 the day I canceled. Waited for the refund, never saw it, and called in today; to a loss at such a time of year, can't even use that to get a car elsewhere. WOW. No, I will do everything I can to fight their business growing off of things like this no matter how long or hard. How unethical of a company to do such a thing.
I PURCHASED A LEXUS 11/1/2013 approximately 6 days ago and it was supposed to be delivered to my house and I got a called around 10am the same day of delver and cancel it because the DRIVER HAD CALL OUT so I went to PICK UP MY CAR from GAITHERSBURG LOCATION and I waited at least 30 minutes in a empty to room until I got up and look for someone.
Additionally, my car had a few discrepancies that needed to be repair or replace within 7 days returning policy however none of those things were repaired or replaced.
Today is MONDAY NOVEMBER 6,2023 and went to MINEKEN CAR CARE IN ROCKVILLE MARYLAND
WASTED MY TIME BECAUSE THEY WERE NOT APPROVED BY CARVANA TO REPLACED MY 2 back tires…. According to the mechanic report THE BACK TIRES NEEDED TO BE REPLACED ASAP BECAUSE THEY WERE CRACKED DUE TO THE FACT THEY WERE 8 years old however CARVANA DECLINED TO REPLACE THOSE TIRES.
CARVANA WAS NOT A GOOD EXPERIENCE FOR ME, I have a great credit report above 750 and I only went to this place because I wanted to try something different and new but I WOULDN'T DO IT AGAIN NEITHER I WILL RECOMMEND THIS PLACE TO ANYONE ELSE.
I'll start with this is not about the Detroit location but with Carvana in general.
I had the worst experience with Carvana and I'll highlight my horrible experiences below.
I purchased a 2020 Volvo XC90 just for reference.
1. Car was dropped off dirty while it stated it was sensitized. When I inspected the vehicle I found half a candy bar under the 2nd row seats. Which should have been caught when they vacuumed the car out. Also, the dashboard had a glue residue from the last owners who must have had a cell phone holder. All it took me was some goo gone and elbow grease to get the residue off which Carvana should have done before the delivery.
2. The car had a defective sunroof. Within minutes of driving the car I could hear the wind whistling through the sunroof. I tried to open and close the sunroof but no luck. When I used the car phone people on the other end could hear the wind as well. Not sure why Carvana would sell this car as if it was truly inspected the person would have heard the wind whistling instantly.
3. After these items I decided to return the car as didn't have a good feeling and then Carvana's customer service was not helpful at all. They told me they could come get the car 5 days later but I had to be there in person. Unfortunately I had to leave on a business trip for two weeks and couldn't be there but I can sign documents ahead of time or have an adult sign on my behalf. They said no so I had to drive 1.5 hours to the nearest location. When I did sign at the location it was three pages without date stamps but Carvana makes a hugh issue of being there in person without any explanation. Their team just reads from a script.
Overall I recommend staying away from Carvana. It was a horrible experience and I feel any dealership would have treated me better than Carvana. When I told them the issues it seemed like they didn't care or even put any effort into resolving the sunroof issue.
4 star review is a complete lie more like 1 star and that's being kind. Thought I purchased a car paid for shipping did my paperwork they rescheduled pick up 4 times via text. I had to call then to find out the car I want was no longer available. They would have strung me along until November 11th mind you I was supposed to pickup the car on 9th of October.
My husband purchased a car from there last year and within 3 months it started having issues. Within 6 months he had to spend thousands on repairs just to make it driveable. Just a few months after that he was quoted over $6000 more to make it driveable again due to engine issues which he'd been having since purchasing the car. He's put more money into this car than it was ever worth. When Carvana sold him this piece of junk the windshield wipers didn't work and the car wasn't even detailed. We tried trading it in and many told us they didn't even understand how Carvana sold us the car with the value being so low from the beginning. I would never purchase a car from Carvana and am still looking into a way to sue them. It's only a matter of time before we can join in on a class action lawsuit for this scam of a company. A company that can't stand on the quality of their products is worth nothing.
Several days ago, I attempted to buy a car through Carvana and have it shipped to a location where I could pick it up. I was planning on paying cash. When I was asked to provide insurance for the vehicle, I contacted my insurance company and had the vehicle added to my policy. The policy was to go into effect on the day I picked up the car. This is when the nightmare began.
First of all, I kept receiving emails and calls saying that I needed to submit proof of insurance and that what I had submitted wasn't good enough. So, I called my insurance company and spent over 30 minutes with an wonderful agent who put together a document showing that the car I was purchasing was going to be indeed insured. I then submitted this proof of insurance to Carvana. Several hours later, I received an email from this fraudulent company stating that my appointment to pick up the car had been cancelled because they had not received proof of insurance.
I was pissed, so I got on the phone to try to talk to a live agent. After waiting for over an hour to talk to a real live person, I was finally connected to an agent, and I explained how unhappy I was and demanded to know why my appointment had been cancelled. After looking into the situation, she said that the policy I had submitted had a start date but that it didn't show when the policy ended. At this point, I became so pissed that I told her to cancel the entire order because Carvana's business practices suck. She agreed to cancel the order.
Today, I received two emails from Carvana telling me that they were refunding my money for the purchase. These bastards took the money out of my account after I cancelled my order. I got on the phone with an agent from Carvana who told me the money had been taken out when I originally place the order, but she assured me it would be back in my account within 10 days! Ten friggin" days! When I asked if the refunded amount included the $590 amount I was charged to have the car shipped to at he
location where I was supposed to originally pick up the car, she said no. Carvana was keeping that money.
So, basically Carvana ripped me off and has been nothing but I pain in the $#*! to deal with.
We bought a 2021 Chrysler Pacifica and it had major hail damage and they know it. VIN: 2C4RC1BG3MR******* It is now back for sale on their website for sale an no disclosure on the hail damage. This is not ethical. We had to pay $590 to have a second car delivered not fair. It had way too many issues so it is going back also. Thought this would be a good experience. They are either not checking the vehicles or not fixing what they find. No way to talk to anyone in person.
Carvana is a total con artist at work. I agreed to a purchase and then cancelled the purchase after 30 hours. They did refund my purchase money but they kept the shipping fee even though they did not ship the vehicle. They said they kept the shipping fee because they had started the shipping paper work. I will never purchase a car from Carvana and I advise every one to stay avoid Carvana. Terrible customer service.
I decided to give this Carvana thing a try after having no luck with the local dealerships in finding a good used car for my wife. Every time it was the same thing, the vehicle I was interested in was sold before I could get there to see it. Then I found a vehicle on Carvana. I had my own financing with my credit union. Completed the purchase a scheduled the delivery. Carvana cancelled the delivery because they couldn't verify my loan. I rescheduled 3 more times all the while Carvana had my $5400 deposit. Each time over three weeks Carvana said the same thing, they couldn't verify the funds. I mean they even had the certified check for $22k. What more could I give them? I just wanted to buy a car for my wife. I finally had enough and cancelled the order. Now I have to wait 14 days for a refund. Really? They took my deposit electronically 1 hour after I completed the purchase and had it for three weeks! They told me they needed to verify the funds before they can issue a refund. WTF! I don't understand the way they stay in business and after reading the reviews and seeing they are banned in several states from conducting business I understand why. Steer clear of Carvana! Don't say you never were warned.
I ordered a car and when I went to pick it up they'd "lost" the manufacturer's charging and tire repair kits (you know, the ones they'd had in the photos on the website?). They replaced them with kits that were cheap and not anywhere near the value of the ones that had been photographed. Plus they didn't even charge the car enough for me to get home. No price adjustment of course. Steer clear of these pirates!
What a TERRIBLE experience! DO NOT pay the $100 to reserve a car from them and expect to receive the car. I did this several MONTHS ago and just found out today that the car is "no longer available". I didn't find this out by them contacting me, I found this out on my own. Throughout the waiting process, I contacted Carvana several times and each time I was told that the car was in the inspection process and that no other information was available. However, each time I spoke to somebody, they tried to sell me another car and tried to get me to cancel the $100 hold. I didn't want another car, I wanted the car I reserved! It is for this reason that, in my opinion, I believe Carvana is in the illegal practice of the old "bait and switch". I honestly believe that they never had the car that I reserved. Today when I spoke to someone I wasn't offered any type of resolution, just a "we're sorry". Their apology means NOTHING to me. What a HORRIBLE and UNTRUSTWORTHY company! No big surprise to me now when I see all of the class action lawsuits against them and the financial problems that they are having. I realized through all of my conversations that their customer service was a joke, now I realize that the entire company is a joke. I hope this helps others steer clear of them. There are plenty of other companies out there that I hope are better than Carvana. Thank you so much Carvana for the disgusting experience and for the complete waste of my time! Oh yeah, and now I'm told I have to wait another 7 days for my $100 hold to be released! Haha, what a bunch of clowns!
Carvana?...RUN AWAY AS FAST AS YOU CAN!
Absolute worst experience EVER! Please keep in mind that I DO write both good and bad reviews a lot but this review was a MUST!
I ordered my car online and was given a 9/1/23 expected delivery date. On 8/31, I was informed that upon transport, the side mirror had been knocked off and needed to be replaced, new delivery date was 9/8. On 9/7, I was informed that the car had not yet been repaired and that the new date was 9/14. When I FINALLY received my car, there was a HUGE scratch on the driver's side door, obviously from when the mirror was knocked off that clearly had been tried to be covered up. Carvana surprisingly did agree later to cover the cost of repair on the scratch after MANY phone calls and photos. After a full inspection, I was also told that there was seepage visible on the transmission (a very small leak). Did Carvana agree to pay for that being only the 4th day I'd had the car?...Of course not! Unless I sent them a live video of the transmission fluid literally coming out and hitting the ground, they would not cover the $1,100 repair!
Carvana is a joke! They hide things about their cars, hoping their customers don't find out. Their customer service is atrocious, and they love to pass you off to the next person because nobody seems to know remotely what they're doing. Notice how you can't write a review on their website unless they send you an invite to do so?! I'm returning the car but writing this to hopefully save someone a huge headache and a bunch of time! AVOID CARVANA! HORRIBLE HORRIBLE establishment that I wouldn't wish my worst enemy to endure!
We are a Carvana family. We were on our 3rd Carvana car last Saturday (9-30-23). 30 seconds into our test drive, our car did on the highway leaving us in a terribly dangerous situation. We immediately called South Austin Carvana for help; they put us on hold. During this time, they quickly processed our trade in. We were lucky that a stranger helped push us out of the way and drove us back to the South Austin Carvana.
After making us wait for over an hour, we were put on the phone with "Johnny" who told they own the van now, so we could feel free to but another car?!
The inspection was either very incompetent or purposely neglectful. These actions left us in a seriously dangerous situation and wrecked our day to day lives because now we STILL NEED a car and no longer have our van. It is horrifying how insensitive and short-sighted these decisions were by Carvana that day. This whole situation makes Carvana look like comic book villains.
They seemingly approved my loan application, took thousands of dollars from my bank in downpayment, and forced me to buy an insurance policy. I then waited for several days with no response other than that the delivery of my car was on track. They finally texted me and gave me 3 hours to complete some "extra income verification" by providing them with tax returns. When I couldn't do that, they cancelled my order and offered me no help on how to regain the money I paid for insurance. The "advocate" I talked with online - a person named Valentina - was also incredibly rude and blunt. What kind of car dealer takes your money and then refuses to approve your loan application?
Answer: "Customer Service"? There is no customer service. It's just email runaround and they sell the car out from under you without even telling you. And... they keep your deposit. It's more like customer DIS-service
Answer: Don't buy from them. The are just like used car salespeople. No difference! Rip-off!
Answer: I had the most amazing time buying a car through Carvana; I got a loan quikly, got my car in a couple weeks and the car is an awesome car; its all registered for me and I just got it inspected, passed no problem. My car only had 42,000 miles on it and rarley was driven. YES get a car from Carvana they are so great! My payments are super low too.
