We recently purchased a vehicle from Carvana on Aug 3,2023 for our daughter. It has turned out to be one of the biggest mistakes we have ever made in purchasing a vehicle. The vehicle needed new brakes, new rotors, new calipers. Also, 4 new tires were required as well as the 4 that were on the car were dry rotted. I spoke with customer service so many times and they have just given us the run around. All issues with the car have to be submitted to a third party called silver fox. It's all just a big headache. So disappointed and I really hope people think twice about purchasing from carvana. I know I will never do it again. The pictures below are of the tires on day 9. They went flat and silver fox would not replace them due to the 7 day return period was over, but the mechanic recommended they replace our tires on day 6 but they refused!
On July 25,2023 I purchased a 2018 Jeep Renegade. After driving it for a couple of days, I noticed a knocking sound from below the jeep. The wheels also trembled a lot when slowing down. I called Carvana and was told to take the car to the automotive shop and that my temporary warranty will cover any expenses. I did and the results were horrible. The auto shop took pictures of the car and sent them to me immediately. They advised I take the car back. The Jeep had tremendous salt damage underneath and was severely eroded. My rotors were damaged and the entire suspension was damaged. If I were to keep the Jeep, starting off I was quoted $700 just to begin working on the things that needed to be fixed. I called Carvana and told them I wanted to return to the car and the condition it was in. I was talked into swapping. I believe in second chances and I was told by an associate that "lighting does not strike twice". Well it did because on August 9,2023 my swapped vehicle arrived. This car had a whining sound when releasing the accelerator. It wasn't normal so I called Carvana and they referred me a shop to go to. I took it there (Pep Boys) and they said everything was fine and that the whining sound was probably nothing. That didn't sound right, so I took the car to a trusted auto shop, the one I took the first Jeep too and sure and behold, again found the problem. The Jeep was leaking transmission fluid from front to back. I was suggested to return the car because it was going to need a new transmission. Now mind you, the Auto Shop Carvana suggested (Pep Boys) told me the car was fine. I used my better judgement and followed my first mind. I was about to be stuck with a Jeep that I'm paying a note for, with most of it's time in a shop. Please inspect your vehicle by someone you trust and not who Carvana suggest. They all work together and it's sad that they tried to take advantage of me just for a sale. This was the WORSE car buy experience ever.
My name is Ebony Spivey and I brought a car from Carvana 2 years ago. The car was leaking/burning oil when I picked it up. The guy at the pickup location told me that it had an oil change recently and he thinks they may have spilled some oil. He made a claim right away and I took it to a repair shop they suggested. I went there 2 times before they stated Audi was the only place with the correct tools. I made an appointment with Audi and they diagnosed the vehicle with several problems. The warranty company finally agreed to pay the roughly $8,000 in repairs. It stayed with Audi for 3 months. I drove the car another 2 months and it cut off on the highway. Audi towed it in and stated they would make the necessary repairs. It stayed a few weeks that time. I drove it another month or so and it cut off again. This time Audi kept the car 14 months. I picked it up and it broke down again. I went back and forth with Audi. I paid to have it towed back in and again it was temporarily repaired. Now it sits in my garage. Meanwhile, Carvana was giving me the runaround like they were going to help me get a different car. They claimed that if the car wasn't drivable they would take it but couldn't get it from the dealership. I offered to tow it wherever they wanted and then they said the warranty company was making repairs so they couldn't take it. Then they said I waited too long. Yet I have proof that I was contacting them regularly and offering to tow the car wherever.
For a billion dollar corporation, Carvana sure likes to nickel and dime customers and doesn't negotiate at all. I ordered a car online and once delivered I discovered some mechanical flaws that would need to fixed. You get a worthless warranty in the fact that you can only use their preferred shop for repairs. In my case it was a tire and muffler place and the car was a BMW. The guy at the muffler place even said -this should go to the BMW dealership. But Carvana wouldn't budge and I returned the car. I was told that my replacement would cost 600 for shipping but they would credit me 300 for my trouble with the BMW. Received the new car which is great! A day later Carvana overdrew my account by charging me 700. I called and they told me my shipping was actually 1000 minus the 300. So now I have to return a car I love because Carvana won't swallow 400 dollars to keep a customer even though their representative didn't tell me the truth. I won't ever buy anything from them and you shouldn't either
I bought a vehicle from them in 2021. The check engine light comes on after about 4 months and turns out the entire engine needed to be replaced. Car only had 67k miles on it. Engine replacement was 18k. Biggest nightmare of my life.
The prices are way too high for every vehicle they sell. They don't give you bargains, and it is their policy and part of who they are to not sell you an older call or a model that may be less popular than others. From everything that I have researched about the company, it is not a nice company. Somebody has to pay for the fancy buildings, the sometimes free delivery, the cream of the crop auto picks from the cream of the crops used car dealerships, and their user friendly website, and that person is YOU! You have to be an idiot or a person with money that has to have the nicest used Toyota Rav4 available to buy from them. It's corporate capitalism gone very bad.
Although their customer service agents are kind, they create issues for customers purchasing vehicles by not being thorough and by misinforming the customer. The process of purchasing a vehicle through Carvanna seems easy enough on paper, but is inefficient and frustrating. When the agents make a mistake, it's the customer who suffers and is expected to adjust accordingly. Resolutions to problems that will occur are not reconciled easily and will be disappointing while wasting much of the customers time. The process of purchasing my vehicle through Carvanna has left me feeling defeated and unhappy at a time where I should feel excited about my new to me vehicle.
On July 14th, I was approved and told car was on its way. Pick up time was scheduled for July 25th. On July 23rd received a text that there was a transportation delay and car could be picked up August 8th. I sent a text today, August 3rd, confirming pick up on August 8th. Was told pick up time had been canceled and that I would need to complete a new order, without an explanation why, for either. I have all text and original contracts in hand. My suggestion would be to stay away from this company.
Brought a 2020 Nissan Murano from carvana. Had it about 6 months. Decided to sell it back to carvana which they said was fine because I found a more fuel efficient vehicle. Well after sending all my documents in they came up with a lie saying I need more documents because i had multiple names on the loan. Big lie I am the only one on the loan. They lied because they did not want to buy it back. Never again will I purchase from carvana.
Just paid off my van a couple weeks ago and have my title in hand. Now I'm selling and I got my CarFax report to get started. CarFax values my van at $21,670.00, so I assumed Carvana would knock about $1,000 off for their effort. Was kinda surprised when Carvana offered me $300.00. Yes, THREE HUNDRED DOLLARS! What a JOKE. Never going to their site again, for sale or purchase.
This company made an offer on my car which I accepted within 24 hours. They then changed the offer by lowering it $315 in the paperwork. I asked why and they said that I put more miles on it which isn't true as it hadn't moved out of the garage where it is kept. Then after confronting them again about it they said that they lowered it because they couldn't get the figures to work out properly otherwise. What? What a crock. I do NOT recommend this sketchy company who has illegal practices.
So. Be sure to literally get on the ground and check underneath a car if you are picking up a car. I did not and regret it. Someone literally taped our bumper on and of course the tape did not start to melt off for several days. You have seven days to let them know about this! Be sure to check and pull everything and get on the ground. We did not and now have a hanging bumper on a 2022 Infiniti that cost over $44,000!
Yep, I called carvana and this is considered "cosmetic" so it is not covered after the 7 day return policy. Note - I wasn't looking to return it just get off the melting tape and have them properly fix it. I don't know if the previous owner did it or carvana. If not carvana then they definitely did not do a good job of inspecting the vehicle.
On top of that several features they listed as coming with the vehicle - did not come with it. I could deal with those and upgrade later - but that's still not okay.
Tried to sell my car on carvana. What a waste of time. Entered in the required numbers including ******* miles, They said I had to put in *******. So I put that in. 2 weeks later I went to update the selling because it needed new brakes and was informed I had to put in ******* miles. I called the customer, which opened more than an hour later than expected and got nowhere slowly...
If you're thinking about buying a car from Carvana, look someplace else. I just got a car from them, went 10 days and took a trip, and it had a bad vibration. I took it to a repair center that they picked and found it had a bent rim. They sent it out for repair and when I got the car back, it still had a vibration. Took the car back to the shop, and now they told me it had a bad tire. Not only did they NOT find the bad tire, but Carmax and the insurance company (I got a extended warranty) told me it is not covered. Gave me the BS story that it was over the 7 days period, WTF, this is the way they treat customers? No wonder they are going under.
Their valuation was $48,800 for my 2021 Tahoe LT. I sold to a dealer for $58M and they resold for $63.
I started the pre approval process found a vehicle got started on the Carvana finance process. Submitted 6 months bank statements,3 months pay stubs and two years tax return. I'm a jr my bank statements, tax return nor pay stubs says jr. They accepted the bank statement and pay stubs but won't accept the tax return because it doesn't have jr. I called to confirm that the delivery date was still the same that's when I found out underwriting would accept my tax return for verification..
Carvana is an amazing concept in buying cars! No dealing with bull$#*!,, no pesky annoying sales people. It's real honest. You chose what you want and it dispenses it like a candy after depositing a coin!
Can't wait to get my Mercedes and Range Rover delivered soon!
I even bought a nice chunk of stock in it so you know it's good!
This was our first experience ordering through Carvana.com. We liked that they had competitive prices (best deals we found for mileage/year), and included pictures of imperfections on the car. The ordering process was all online and was pretty streamlined. The vehicle was delivered to our home (for a few) at the correct time. However, to my disappointment, the vehicle had a bit more scratches and dents than what were pictured online and the car was dirty! There were crumbs in the cupholders and storage spaces, splatters and stains of who knows what on the seats and arm rests, and bits of trash in the back seat. I described it as a dirty rental car. Additionally, as soon as we took it out of our driveway for a test drive, we could hear the rotors grinding. The agent who dropped it off attributed it to the car sitting on the lot for a while, but after a couple of more test drives the noise didn't go away. We decided to take it to a shop to get it inspected after reading online reviews saying that Carvana takes maybe 2 minutes to do an inspection. I'm glad we did: car needed an alignment, one of the wiper fluid tubes was leaking, cabin filter needed replacing, and 2 of the tires had a nail in them which would require a new set of tires. Seriously. If the 150-point check was completed, they should have addressed all of these issues. We liked the vehicle, but I could not believe Carvana would deliver a vehicle in such a dissatisfactory condition. Misleading information is what they published online. We returned the vehicle and got a full refund including the shipping fee, thankfully. We purchased from a local dealer for a higher priced vehicle, but at least they provide professional service and stand by their inspections. Stay away from Carvana!
Kept pushing my delivery time of the vehicle with no explanation and would not do anything to make it right.
Answer: "Customer Service"? There is no customer service. It's just email runaround and they sell the car out from under you without even telling you. And... they keep your deposit. It's more like customer DIS-service
Answer: Don't buy from them. The are just like used car salespeople. No difference! Rip-off!
Answer: I had the most amazing time buying a car through Carvana; I got a loan quikly, got my car in a couple weeks and the car is an awesome car; its all registered for me and I just got it inspected, passed no problem.
