TOTAL DISAPPOINTMENT
December 21, 2022

Total DISAPPOINTMENT! Just bought a new used car from Carvana (2020 Mercedes GLA 250,6347 miles) picked up the car yesterday, and upon trying to start car, push to start button won't work. The Carvana attendant was like "that's not an issue, just take it to the manufacturer, it'll be an easy fix" so went ahead and used key phob to start car, drove home that night and both key phobs stopped working, cannot lock car. Tried using the keyless lock to lock car from driver side door, but still car refused to lock even though car was turned off and on park. I'm having to go to bed with my car doors open cause apparently it's a piece of Junk! To think I paid over 36,000 for this, I was so excited when I got it, the color was exactly what I wanted, but now I'm just so furious and can't wait till morning to return it! The car makes weird noises when I drive and wobbles like it's going to crumble

Payments for a car that I can't drive
December 17, 2022

I purchased a 2013 Chevrolet Cruze in February of 2022. Had no issues and trusted Carvana to provide me with a great car that would last me a couple of years. I was wrong, recently I had to pay for new brakes, rotors, as well as an oil change. Which is fine that's typical maintenance for a vehicle. I was told by my mechanic that the car had patch work done in order for the vehicle to sell as well as bad wear and tear, and oil had been leaking in the engine previously before I purchased it. A week later the head gasket blows, I was informed by the mechanic to call Carvana. I call carvana and I am placed with an advocate and I inform him of my issues. He informs me that I am out of the 100 day warranty however if I'm able to provide documentation from a mechanic I could submit the documents via a link provided. I spent the past two days gathering the information just to informed by Carvana that they provided false information. As customer I am upset because I am now stuck with a car I can no longer drive and a car payment. Now my car will be repoed and this will end up on my credit. All because an advocate provided false information and made it seem like this situation would be fixed. Now that I have the documentation I'm being told nothing can be done for my situation.Due to the fact that I purchased the car in February mine you I've only had the car for 8 months. Had two different mechanics do diagnostics and both are stating that my gasket should not be blown and the damage was already done prior to me purchasing the vehicle. Now I'm stuck with a payment and am being told that I'm better off getting another car than getting this fixed. I owe close to 14,000 for a car that is not working and will cost even more to get fixed when the issue can happen again. I am at a loss for words by the way I have been treated by several so called advocates. Regardless I was provided the wrong information and the situation has yet to be fixed. I am being blamed by advocates when I have proof/documentation from a certified mechanic at precision tune stating the issues wrong with my car were prior to my purchase. It's no reason I should need a new engine within 8 months unless there wasn't already preexisting issues. Advocates were very rude and condescending regarding my issue, it was made like it's my fault. I have documents as well as proof of call where I was told to get information from a mechanic to send to Carvana. Now I'm getting the run around and nothing can be done. Yes I know of the warranty and 7 day guarantee but I was told by an advocate to submit documentation to prove the issues are preexisting which I've done. Yet nothing is being done to fix the situation. I recommend doing research on Carvana before buying a car, wish I would have looked more into the reviews prior to this.

I found just the car I was looking for on Carvana. I have used Carmax for the past several purchases and assumed this was similar - I was wrong. It was difficult to get a real person to help when I had questions. Each time I talked to a real person, I was given conflicting information from the previous person I had spoken with. Some of the issues:
1)I was first told I could use the sale of my car I was replacing to offset the sales tax on my purchase- I needed only to upload an official state Bill of Sale. Then days later I was told that was not possible and needed to be handled by the DOV. Fine, but give me the correct answer in the first place.
2) Carvana moved my delivery date three times. The last time I literally was on the phone with a customer advocate that assured me everything was in order and my car would be delivered in the next two days as stated. Less than an hour later I received an auto-generated email that my delivery date was moved to the following week. LESS THAN AN HOUR from being told differently. I had sold my car and was without for this period of time.
3) When I received the car there was no front license plate bracket. I live in Missouri and the car was delivered to Missouri and tagged in Missouri. Missouri REQUIRES a front tag. I was told first that they would pay for one, but the next guy that walked in the door said all they would do is drill two holes in the bumper and I would have to take care of that.
4) My vehicle arrived missing a rubber hood stop which was clearly visible in all of the pictures of the vehicle. Too bad. They don't cover or replace that. It was in the pictures and NOT on the vehicle.
5) They really want you to finance with them. I have excellent credit. They offered a rate of almost 11%! I financed at my bank for just over half that. They offered me 1/3 of the trade in value on the car I was getting rid of.
In conclusion - no - I would not recommend Carvana. Carmax was much easier to work with. While I'm glad I found the car I wanted, I will not use Carvana again and will not recommend them to anyone else.

In the year and a half since purchasing my Audi, I've had to put $7400 of repairs into it and it is currently at the dealership once again, for about $7,000 worth of more repairs. Bad motor mounts, torn bushings, oil and coolant leaks, clogged fuel injectors, the list goes on. The "84 whatever point inspection check" that they advertise must be a joke. Within 30 days of purchasing the vehicle, almost everything that isn't covered under warranty needed replaced (battery, brakes, tires, etc). I do not recommend Carvana to anyone. I'm fairly certain they buy auction vehicles and immediately resell them regardless of condition.

Carvana sold me a vehicle that had front bumper damage. They were not transparent. My new finance company, Upstart, paid Carvana $22,000 for a 2017 Honda Civic EX with 43,200 miles. Carvana's lack of transparency infuriates me. When I went to the Honda dealership today to sell my vehicle, the salesperson told me that damages were on the CarFax. However, prior to my purchase of the vehicle from Carvana. I ran a VIN check, and there were no damages indicated. Carvana was deceitful in their conduct by failing to notify me of the damages. I'm seeking monetary compensation. PLEASE DO NOT BUY FROM THEM. YOU WILL HAVE BUYER'S REMORSE.

Bad engine.
December 10, 2022

I bought a 2015 GMC Terrain it was supposed to be certified inspected and before I even made my first payment my GMC was running poorly. I put 9,000 down and the complete total was slightly over 20,000. It started making a loud sound and turned out my used/new vehicle was bone dry of oil. Oil in the tailpipe and oil stains under the hood. That's not something you think to worry about after dropping 9,000 down on a certified inspected vehicle. Sure my warranty covered it but who wants to deal with all the other butterfly affect problems from that bad engine? I requested my money back or a vehicle that's actually worth 20,000 and because it was after their 7 day test drive window they said no and I didn't even have it 4 weeks yet at that point. Don't trust Carvana.

Just bought my car two weeks ago, engine light came on day nine, on a newer jeep wrangler. Took it in under its warranty, haven't had the car for two weeks now. Major repairs are needed, and the mechanic said they couldn't believe they sold me the car in the condition that it is in. I am planning on suing. I've had to pay out of pocket for Ubers and bus rides, which takes me three transfers to get to work. When I called to ask about a deferment on the first payment, since I haven't even been able to drive it, they simply told me "no". And then, if I didn't pay, they would come and take the vehicle. Intake manifold gasket, plenum gasket, and oil pressure switch need repaired. What's worse, is that the warranty department haggles with the mechanics, trying to get them to buy the cheapest parts that would wear out within a year or so. Just found out they are also going bankrupt. I understand why now. Horrible experience!

Bait and switch
December 6, 2022

I landed on a vehicle on carvana. Put in the 25% down payment my credit rating which is above 800 and length of term. The result didn't come anything near what they were showing! So I called the 800 number. The lady said we don't negotiate interest rates! Even though they were 4% more then my previous three pre-qualifications! They don't care one bit! Guess that's why they're 6 billion dollars in the hole! They reported a 1.5 billion dollar decline last year! I guess all the new car sales are supposed to make up that money with finance charges! Even the dealerships don't charge the interest rates that they want!

They have just gotten too BIG. Everything was so complicated. I had an offer from them for my trade, which they said they had no record of. After HOURS going round and around, and them not allowing me to send them a copy of the email with the offer. I just had to establish a NEW account and request a NEW offer- which was lower than the first. Did you know that every time you ask for a value they send you a lower figure? So rather than standing by the first offer I had to use the second, lower offer. Which was only two weeks later but... then I found a car I wanted to purchase BUT, they couldn't bring me the car I was buying when they came to pick up the car I was trading. No, I would have to go to Richmond for the car I was purchasing. Even though it says right in their ads and on the website-" If you bought a car from us, we'll bring your new ride and take your old one." That kind of give the impression that they will pick up your trade in and leave your new car- don't ya think? Well that's completely NOT true.

So, I did what any self respecting American would do- I took my business elsewhere. Which I would suggest you do too.

Not so easy buying
November 25, 2022

My Husband sent in all the information, and ran his credit. Second day come we thought we was done with information except insurance. Next thing you know the monthly payment went up again, so customer service said we can cancel and take a look at other vehicles in more of our budget all our info was verified so we found another vehicle we like and try to purchase. Next thing we know the customer service rep was saying we had to start at the beginning including credit being run again. We hung up. Their process is not simple or easy and they change monthly payment amount over and over again. Go to CarMax or anywhere else but there

This place is ridiculous!
November 25, 2022

I'm in the middle of trying to pay cash for a car and these $#*!s can't even call me. They just chat with me for a second and then i get a robot again. I 'm so annoyed. The website also is filled with false information. Before I started the process the website said they would deliver the car to me. Once i said i was paying cash now all the sudden i have to go to a ridiculous vending machine to get the car! LIARS. Incompetent and dishonest.

Carvana sold me a bad car without proper inspection, their 150 point inspection is a Joke. Car hardly has 1000 miles more since I purchased, already have wheel issue, engine is wobbling and alternator just died. Now they are not helping me because I am few days out of 100 days warranty. Should have gone with dealership or local shop. Very bad experience, will not recommend at all.

I have bought several cars through Carvana & because the process has been so easy previously I decided to go back to them for the trade-in I wanted to do. The process this time has been the worst car buying experience I've ever had. And that includes AutoNation bait & switches. Their representatives didn't complete the 10-day payoff verification in the system after I sat on a 3way call w/ them. This caused me to have to go through everything again because not only did they cancel my order, I lost my delivery date & have to wait another week. Spent 4 hours on the phone w/ 5 different representatives yesterday & they won't do anything. I asked at the least they waive my delivery fee for the trouble. Escalation finally called this morning & offered $200 after 7 day trial period. Not even close to the delivery fee. I may as well have gone to a dealership if I wanted to waste 4 hours of my day. The point of Carvana is to be quick & not time consuming. At least a dealership would've given me coffee & a swag bag. Surely they can do better than $200 2 weeks from now. It's all their delivery trucks. They control the process. They can waive a delivery fee. They just won't! I'll never buy from them again. Might even cancel another order I have pending for my wife.

RUDE EMPLOYEE
November 14, 2022

We went to pick up our car that was purchased with a non-carvana financing. The location is downtown Atlanta right there off 85. The employee that did our check out was Lorenzo Moore. He was extremely rude. He was short-answered each time you asked him a question at the table and very impatient and clearly showed on his facial expressions he was not interested in being decently kind. Frankly, it was the saddest experience of my life! This man does not belong in customer service. He is killing the Carvana reputation ‼‼‼ Look for better employees, Carvana!

I will never do it again! I'm stuck with a car that has been in the shop longer than I have driven it. Warranty is a joke! Sent it to a Silver Rock Auto Shop and the shop put the shocks on backwards car still making the same noise since my purchase and I'm being passed around via telephone like an offering plate on the first Sunday. So Beware and always get extra coverage on any vehicle purchased by them.
