It was nice to do the purchase easily online. The customer advocates were all helpful. I have received two cars over the past month. While driving the first car on the first day, the low oil pressure light came on. Given I live in Northeast Wisconsin, my car would have had to be transported over 100 miles to Milwaukee in order to get in-nework service. They would not be willing to cover the 350 out of network deductible to have it serviced in my area. I asked them to cone and take car the back. This is so illogical. It had to cost them more than $350 to pick up the car and transport it to somewhere it was serviced. I dont understand this line of thinking.
I bought a second car. The buying and delivery process went well. I took delivery in Chicago so I can get service there. I had to take the car in to the shop for brakes and alignment work.
Clearly they do not implement their 151 step maintenance review before delivering their lemons. They hope buyers will not be aggressive and live with the repairs that need to be done.
My experience with Carvana has been nothing short of a nightmare.
First vehicle: I purchased a car with only 4,000 miles, and on the day of delivery I was told the engine had a knocking sound and asked if I still wanted it. Absolutely not!
Second vehicle: I purchased another car more than a week in advance and even paid shipping fees. The day before delivery, I was informed it had been sold to someone else! I was then told I wouldn't receive my refund for 7–10 business days—and not until after I purchased yet another vehicle and completed the 7-day trial period. Completely unacceptable.
Third vehicle: I finally tried again, only to be told on the delivery day that it had to be rescheduled a week later because they were short-staffed. I had to drive to pick up the vehicle myself. When I got there, it had far more imperfections than advertised, and there was no paperwork ready for me at all. Had the vehicle inspected for MY PEACE OF MIND and a tire needed to be replaced at MY COST while I am still under the 7 day warranty through Carvana. Multiple nails found in the inner rim area! Carvana is the ABSOLUTE WORST! I highly advise anyone to STAY AWAY! Every step of the process was disorganized, misleading, and frustrating. Communication was poor, accountability was nonexistent, and customer service was unhelpful. After three failed experiences, I can confidently say I will never use Carvana again and strongly advise others to stay away.
Fraudulent Misrepresentation and Bait-and-Switch I received a written offer from Carvana to purchase my vehicle for $17,000. Prior to my scheduled appointment, I informed Carvana that one of the two listed owners on the vehicle title could not be present. I was explicitly instructed by Carvana representatives to obtain a new title listing only my name in order to complete the sale. Acting in good faith and following their instructions, I obtained a new title solely in my name and attended the confirmed appointment. When I arrived, the Carvana representative refused to proceed with the purchase, claiming they could not accept the title in that form, and canceled the appointment. Shortly afterward, I was contacted by Jerry, a Carvana agent, who informed me that my original $17,000 offer had "expired" and that the new offer would be $13,500—a $3,500 reduction in less than three weeks. I have screenshots and documentation of both offers and written confirmation of the title change instructions. Carvana's conduct demonstrates a clear bait-and-switch and constitutes fraudulent misrepresentation, as I was induced to change the title under their direction, only for them to cancel the appointment and reduce the offer without justification. Their actions caused direct financial loss, prevented other resale opportunities, and resulted in liquidated damages I have suffered due to their negligent and deceptive business practices. I am requesting a formal investigation and compensation for the losses caused by Carvana's fraudulent and deceptive conduct.
I recently purchased my first car through Carvana, and the experience was deeply disappointing. While it avoids the hassle of pushy salespeople, the inability to speak with a real person until delivery was frustrating. My car was scheduled for delivery last Saturday between 11:00 AM and 2:00 PM, but it arrived late at 3:00 PM with no updates or communication about the delay.
Upon delivery, I noticed an obvious issue with the rear passenger wheel due to a faulty wheel hub, and the rear rotors and brakes were in poor condition. Despite Carvana's claimed 150-point inspection, these issues were overlooked. The one-week warranty only covered the wheel hub, leaving me to pay $500 out of pocket for additional repairs to ensure the car is safe to drive. The tires also need replacing soon.
I wouldn't recommend Carvana unless you're prepared to deal with unreliable service and unexpected costs. Buyer beware.
Carvana still has not filed state paperwork and I have not received my registration or plates. Its been 3 months. I paid cash for the car. In a few days my temporary plate will expire and I will be unable to drive it. I am constantly calling, chatting, texting. They tell me to watch for emails. Its exhausting. Meanwhile they call me with a recorded message to do something i did months ago. At the end of the message they prompt to hit 1 if you want to talk to someone but no one will answer. Never againi Carvana
This company should be ashamed of themselves. From terrible hubs to awful Executive Reps. This company has no integrity whatsoever.
Worst car buying experience ever!
1.) I found the wipers were bad: Had to replace them myself.
2.) Next the brakes were bad: Had to pay for part of the repair myself.
3.) Then the transmission failed. They had the car for a month. I had to pay for part of the repair. I had to pay for the rental out of my own pocket (as they only pay for 10-days max). Replacement transmission failed within days of the return. Out of 60-days, I only had the car for about 30-days. When I complained: They responded to me by saying I should have returned it within the 7-day return period. It took longer than that to discover the issues and find an in network repair facility. This has been a terrible experience and no answer in sight as to when I will get the car back.
We scheduled our vehicle pickup with Carvana over a week ago, making sure everything was in place for the assigned time—Friday between 5 PM and 8 PM. As it got close to 8 PM, we called to confirm, and the representative assured us the appointment was still active and that the pickup team should be on the way. As the time passed, no one showed up. The representative informed us there were no notes or updates and, shockingly, no way to contact the pickup team directly. All they could do was "add a note" in the system. Their system still showed everything was on track. This was the only day that both owners listed on the car title were available at the same time. We rearranged our entire day, canceled plans, and prepared everything in advance, only for nothing to happen. After waiting over an hour past the scheduled window, we finally received a generic text message stating the pickup team couldn't make it—and we were now rescheduled for the following Monday at a completely random time. That is not acceptable. Friday was the only day that worked for us, and we had been planning this for nearly two weeks. This was an incredibly frustrating and disappointing experience. We were left in the dark, wasted hours of our day, and now have to start the process all over again. I would never recommend working with this company after this experience.
I had an appointment with CarVana to sell my dad's car - he is in his 90's and is unable to drive and has dementia. I disclosed everything regarding paperwork as I filled it out. Carvana rep arrived and gave the car a thumbs up and we were ready to complete the transaction and I provided the paperwork- Title, License, Lien Release, Power of Attorney (POA) to conduct business for my dad- he is in nursing care with dementia. They would not accept a certified POA. Banks and everyone else do. It is necessary to handle business for elderly parents. Nothing was mentioned about accepting this legal document.
They told me the vehicle had to be changed to my name - incurring a fee and hassle at MVA. The MVA would accept POA, so this just becomes a real PIA.
I ended up going to CarMax who took the POA without problems. I just had to start the process over again. CarMax paid for a Lyft to get me home, so that took care of one of the concerns about selling there.
It hurts me to write this because I once had a good experience with Carvana. But when a drunk driver blew through a red light and totaled my vehicle, I tried purchasing from Carvana again. The insurance company totaled the vehicle, issued a payment to Carvana and I had gap insurance that covered the remainder of the loan. Carvana insisted that it never got the gap payment and said I would have to pay the thousands left over after the original insurance payment before I could buy another vehicle from them. Sorry, but I don't have thousands of dollars just lying around after a down payment to pay that off and for Carvana to issue a refund whenever it decides to admit that it got the gap money. I've argued for hours with multiple "customer service" people about it, trying to get the hold released from my new purchase, but to no avail. As a result, I've canceled the purchase and I won't go back to Carvana again.
This morning I tried to buy a truck from Caravana. I needed the truck today or tomorrow. I found the one I wanted in their system and it showed a delivery date about a week out. I reached out via chat and indicated I need it today and is that possible The Chat agent assured me that it was and to go ahead and order the truck on line. So I ordered the truck and they refused to change the delivery date even though the truck was available. The reason I was given is that they didn't have an appointment available to deliver the truck. Dumb business model! So I drove To my nearest brick and mortar dealer and paid cash for my new truck.
I like my purchase so far. However! The car looked great at the dealership. I bought it solely for transporting my wares to craft shows. The stow and go seating was a major selling point for me. When I got home, I tried the stow and go. That's when I noticed the flapper panel was missing from the third row seat. It forms the floor when the seats are closed. I called and got a nice girl but she was very vague about the process. Whose fault would it fall under. They said they would fix it. So I decided to detail the inside to see what else was missing. Anything that wasn't glued down under the third-row seat was gone. A floor vent, basically all the carpet nuts, ripper carpet from the carpet nuts missing, carpet pulled away from the wall and the shoulder strap holder. I got a call last night that started off good, however, it was a kid talking to me like I was his buddy. He was telling me they wanted to get this taken care of. Then the conversation turned to where I had to do the work. Submitting pictures. (which, they were totally aware of since I had sent all the information to the BBB.) Yet once again, I have to jump through hoops. Oh, and on one portion of the description it stated "Keys" in another it stated "Key" guess what I got? My point is if they did their job AS ADVERTISED, the 150 point inspection, they would have noticed all these imperfections and would have posted them. They only posted six. 5 were minor paint dings and 1 was a small fade on the passenger seat. I found Fries, soda on the walls, press on fingernails (gross!) and a lot of dog hair! Along with all the missing parts. Do yourself a huge favor: Inspect the vehicle prior to leaving the lot. Move seats, etc. Because the customer service at this company is not good. At least so far. You shouldn't have to reach out to a third party to get small issues taken care of. Take responsibility for your employees actions. They missed it, you failed to flag it. Fix it.
I have an almost new vehicle, only 10,000 miles on it for which carvana gave me a fair offer. I wanted to trade to save the sales tax. It took over 2 weeks for them to come up with a suitable vehicle for me to purchase and when they finally did I began the purchase. Of course by then the mileage on my trade had gone up but still under 10,000 miles. They reduced their offer by 2k. Are you kidding? I've dealt with them before and this is not the same company. They are blatantly trying to rip people off but I've been in the car business for years and it didn't work with me. I cancelled the purchase and I'm done with Carvana.
I had my first repair visit just a couple of days after the "7-day return" it was for cut wires to sensors on the cooling system. The repair shop was not close by and I missed work 2 days and $100 paid in deductible all before my first payment. Before the second payment, another repair visit, 1 day to diagnose and I don't know yet how long to fix! Major electrical issues! Lost pays and another 100 in deductible! I live in a small town I only drive like 5 miles a day so finding these issues already? Makes me very fearful of the future! I only pray I find all the issues before the 100 days! They said I could trade it in for another and guess what! My vehicle value for trade in is 7000 less than I paid for it 8 weeks ago! DO NOT BUY FROM THEM!
Carvana made an offer "good for seven days" and would not honor it, paying $400 less than the offer only about 36 hours later. They are not an honest company. Be very careful about doing business with them.
I see a lot more positive stories and reviews from using Carvana than negative ones but unfortunately this is an extremely negative one.
My girlfriend was purchasing a car from Carvana and was trading her current car in. She initiated the purchase on a Thursday with pickup/delivery set for the next day, Friday with a window from 2pm-5pm. After 5pm came and went with no car and no word from Carvana about a delay, she reached out and was told by support that the order had been canceled due to an issue with the bank. Fine. Annoying because no one told us in advance, she had to call in to find that out but fine.
She re-processed the order again for the same car with the same details. Now the delivery date was set for Saturday between 11am-2pm. Again, the car never showed up. She spoke with support numerous times and was only told that 'someone will reach out when they're on the way'. I even drove myself out to the Carvana inspection station (about an hour away) to find someone to talk to about this and was given no information other than they confirmed that the car she purchased was in the lot.
It's now Sunday and the car has still not shown up, no one from Carvana has reached out to us and the status on the app still says, "out for delivery", which is what it has shown since Saturday. Support is clueless, there's no upper management to speak to, money was taken from her bank account and she has been left with no car.
We are filing complaints with the BBB and are leaving reviews about this experience everywhere we can. Again, it looks like the majority of people using Carvana don't go through this but for us, this experience has been incredibly frustrating and upsetting and we will be sure to never use this service again.
CARVANA DROPPED OFF A MERCEDES BENZ IN MY DRIVEWAY WITH A BLOWN MOTOR! Did simple google search to see if I should be contacting a attorney at this point In time, and it seems I should. I bought a 2014 Mercedes Benz G550 G63 from Carvana on 9/21/2024 for $73,000.2 days after it was dropped off in my driveway the check engine light came on, and it has been to a mechanic 4 times in the last month, and this most recent trip to the mechanic, the bill is at $16,400 worth of work AND SILVERROCK WARRANTY AND CARVANA WONT PAY FOR IT! Serious engine failure work, steering components, tie rods, leaking oil and radiator leak, etc. I thought Carvana did a "150 point inspection". Ha yeah right!
Carvana just keeps telling me to call my third party warranty company Silverrock but they WONT fix the truck. CARVANA WILL NOT HELP, THEY WONT APPROVE THE CLAIM! I have no vehicle it is still at the shop - it's a blown engine it won't move! This whole experience is a scam. There is no way they looked at this truck before dropping it off in my driveway, this is insane! I have a 7 month pregnant wife and I'm without a truck to drive! They REFUSE TO FIX MY TRUCK!
Carvana is a joke. We have purchased 7 vehicles from Carvana. We found a different vehicle before any transportation or anything was done to the corvette ordered. We changed to a Land Rover. Delivery on both of these vehicles was weeks away. They refused to refund the shipping fee because it was not within 24 hours. It was 48. The customer service team was rude and provided little assistance. The manager sent me a response and immediately disconnected himself when I asked for reconsideration. I have a law degree and will be seeking remedies so others are not taken advantage of by this company. They will be headed down the same path as Vroom with thesr Business practice. I implore you do not give this company your money. They don't care about their customers only stealing your money.
Found a car that fit my needs.
All went well till I got to the financing section.
Was offered financing at 22%...
My credit score is in the 700 range, found this "offer" insulting!
Thanks, SETH
Beware of purchasing from them. They change things when it benefits them. They will literally give you inoperable things and make you run in circles knowing they provided you with false information. Maybe it's their tactic to waste your 7 day trial period so you're stuck with the trash product they knowing delivered.
Answer: "Customer Service"? There is no customer service. It's just email runaround and they sell the car out from under you without even telling you. And... they keep your deposit. It's more like customer DIS-service
Answer: Don't buy from them. The are just like used car salespeople. No difference! Rip-off!
Answer: I had the most amazing time buying a car through Carvana; I got a loan quikly, got my car in a couple weeks and the car is an awesome car; its all registered for me and I just got it inspected, passed no problem. My car only had 42,000 miles on it and rarley was driven. YES get a car from Carvana they are so great! My payments are super low too.
