Full story is in the picture. Short of getting a return and refund, I asked Carousell support to just remove my positive feedback to seller. They say yes, but did nothing. I asked them a second time. Nothing. I searched the web for a way to remove it, or at the very least to change it. Someone claims it can be done and shows screenshots of the process. But when I do it, the app looks different. Perhaps Carousell changed it? Seller even changed his profile picture and name. He was using his name earlier. Now he goes by "paris.co". I'm sure it won't be long before he changes again.

Update: And look what happened? Carousell removed that article as well. This is the second time. I believe it was the seller who reported me. The guilty one using Carousell as a shield.
Made a purchase with seller (irugs) but the product was nothing like what was advertised or shown - overpriced for such an inferior quality with trimmings and material that was not as promised. Seller refused to allow me to return even though he/she was unable to refute why the product I received was not what was advertised (note that I'm not some cheapskate expecting the product to be complimentary. I am willing to pay for the return; I just want this lousy rug gone and my hard earned money back). I sent unequivocal evidence of the side by side comparison of the actual product I received vs what was advertised, but now carousell support is saying the seller has also provided evidence and my report is 'invalid', thus dismissing all the photo evidence that I provided that clearly shows that I was scammed.
Part of the reason why carousell aids scammers is also because of their silly review policy, which only allows reviews to be posted within 14 days. The seller precisely exploited this loophole and only sends out the lousy rugs after 14 days, and now I can't get my refund and I can't even leave an honest review about what I think about the product quality. You need to look more closely to see that most of the reviews are about how 'friendly' the seller is, but who cares about hypocritical service if the product is crap. I was only deceived into buying as I thought the seller is trustworthy based on the many '5 star' reviews, and I pointed this loophole to the support team and they conveniently did not address it as well. As a active carousell buyer and seller, I am super disappointed and disgusted at carousell's response!
I am one of the first carouseller since its launch. Initially was ok. But eventually so many chinese scammers flooded into platform. So many counterfeit products so many issues. When I report counterfeit Carousell penalized me. For example When i was selling legit made in Germany product my items being removed another person selling the chinese knock off he get to stay even thou many people complained about him. Also harrasment and extortion is rampant as carousell helps criminals
Bad policies with the worst rating system that doesn't make sense
With so many seed funding, it's amazing how bad their product and customer service team is.
They are purely existing because they are pretty much of a monopoly, and Facebook marketplace isn't cutting it as well.

I hate having to even give a single star to this piece of $#*! website pretending to be an e-commerce site. There should be a zero or negative star rating!
This was my email response to a so called "Warning" email from the stupid Carousell Singapore team and their support! The idiotic Carousell support will just send warnings even though their buyers are full of $#*! & super $#*!ed. $#*!ed buyers who don't know how to use the Carousell system and does not even know how to "Make an Offer". Yet low ball at ridiculous prices (1/3 the listed price you know?!?!). Yet Carousell does not even bother to educate their $#*!ed buyers on how to use the system.
All it takes is for them to FORCE users to read nagging messages to make an offer if they want to send a 2nd or 3rd message. Instead, they let these $#*!ed buyers keep sending us sellers $#*!ed messages to harrass us - & bring down our responsiveness ratings if we ignore $#*!s who don't deserve any replies.

I DID NOT USE any " harassments, threats, vulgar language and offensive remarks" at all. He low balled with a price LESS THAN ONE-THIRD my listing price. But then he started to harrass me by MESSAGING ME REPEATEDLY calling me "TERRRIBLE" etc.
If they keep sending me harrasing messages even when I ignore them, then my account will be flagged as "Unresponsive" then who suffers? Its me who suffers!
You should send a warning to him instead for ABUSING me by calling me terrible etc. when all I did was ignore him!
I will post on the forums the screenshots until Carousell gives me a satisfactory answer.
Hi guys, please let me rant. I am so so so pissed off right now. It all happened earlier this morning, around 3:40am until now. I havent sleep okay. I cant accept of what had just happened to me.
I have been attacked by a few suspicious account while I was busy listing my items I wanna sell off.
Been loyal with this app for 5 years now, (got 89 reviews of 5/5 ratings from both sellers and buyers ;) have never had a single issues until just now. Just after I reported issues regarding the fraudulent attempt to my account then out of the blue, my account has been suspended. After all the hard work on writing those detailed descriptions, ( yes i love writing down long descriptions) Oh my god. It was so unfair!
Ive spent almost 3 days to get nice shots of photos, and try to get some interesting ideas on how to attract buyers and now it all went down the drain! I'm telling you my friend, put yourself in my shoes and see how pissed you are. I am the midst of looking for some cash, this my side business. I am no longer working because of the Covid and Carousell did this to me without any inquiries or any warning notice. It is such a shame! Lousy management team you are!
I am terribly frustrated and I need to CURSE right now. I am in the need of cash, i mean fast cash to get thru over this pandemic. Not gonna lie this app were reliable and used to be very helpful to me, but now reading at all the hatred from the ex-users i think i'm gonna say the same thing too GO TO HELL Carousell. BYE!
I bought an item from Carousell on a site for janinemiqui. I was asked to transfer money directly into her bank account. As it was a small amount, despite being cautious, I transferred the money on 20th December 2020. Despite contacting the seller many times, the item did not arrive. It was unfortunate that the item I had ordered was something I really wanted, the small cost was secondary. The only way to communicate was by chat, and then, just after Christmas, nothing. I kept trying to contact the seller and eventually contacted Carousell complaints. They were sympathetic but apparently have little control over the seller. Eventually, after sending another unanswered chat, I threatened legal action. My goods arrived having been posted 3 days before despite the seller telling me (by chat) that the parcel had been sent two weeks ago. I won't be doing any dealings with this particular seller and warn anyone reading this to be extremely careful. I will have second thoughts about the whole Carousell organisation.
I am a subscriber of their pro business account service. However when I emailed in to enquire about the absence of a feature (which allows you to disable carousell's protection for payment mode) that all other subscriber seem to enjoy, I was met with incredulously incoherent responses from their staff, Lay.
Over a period of two months since I raised my issue, Lay communicated the following:
1) Carousell's protection is default and cannot be disabled even though the option to do so is there
2) When evidence was provided to contradict point 1), he suggested the typical software fix which involves restarting your PC/phone or changing browsers. These did not help.
3) When I feedback about point 2), Lay went back to talk about point 1)
4) This went around in circles where the final straw came when Lay suggested I check with Apple store on this. WTH does Apple HAS TO DO WITH CAROUSELL'S ISSUE?
5) Feeling pissed off, I asked for a refund for the payment I have made for my subscription but was dump with a typical cut & paste wall of text which states that it is non-refundable.
Each nonsensical reply from Lay took 5 DAYS.
Now, you offered a service but did not manage to deliver it completely. And when the customer asks for a refund/partial refund, you said no. Does that make Carousell a sammer company by itself?
Pay for their service at your own risk.
So my dear friends who are reading this do not waste your time selling any item on Carousell. The most confusing and contradictory site. I posted a picture of some fishes in their aqua community and my account was suspended and their logic was hilariously lame
The support staff email me stating the aquarium community have different admins and they are different but they are inside caraousell! And they ask me to contact these admins from where? After suspending accounts they ask me to contact admins lol
COVID truly has affected some people in distinct ways.
My ad was removed for duplicates. But it wasn't a duplicate as I simply removed an old non-performing ad with a new one. And they seemed it like a crime. Does it make sense at all?
They blatantly allow fakes / replicas to be sold to increase transactions, and this is extremely unethical and illegal at the same time. Don't bother filing a report to them, as they don't give a damn.
Understand that duplicates and irrelevant words especially tagging f server all brands in listing is NOT allowed but there are Many seller still doing this.
My listing was removed due to duplicates n tagging but I see MANY MANY others doing the same and their listing are still avaliable after listed for months?
In addition when you report such Similar cases they said is ok double standard?
Carousel s getting more commercialized I wish they can closed down the apps soon.
I used carousell quite often but not anymore, especially after my recent experience with them. I bought a cake from one of their sellers. Made full payment and an offer on the app at least 3 days before. Seller was mostly non-responsive, even though she was online, did not even provide collection details on actual day until i texted her quite a few times. She cancelled on the actual day when i was already on my way down. Reached out to Carousell support, the CS team informed me that all they can do is issue a warning. Reached out to their CEO Lucas and Sui Rui but they seem to agree with such behavior and policy.
Account deactivated due to suspicious fraud activity when i have been a regular seller for > 5 years?
Some of my buyers have already paid up and we're in the midst of arranging a meet up location and my account just got deactivated out of the blue, if police reports were to be made against me it's all down to Carousell's poor handling of this case, unlike these idiots who work at Carousell I have always uphold my own values and not scam my customers by having sold items in the buyers hands. I don't know how they're getting new seed investments with such unpleasant experience and I sincerely hope the 3 founders of this $#*!ty company go to hell.
Carousell Singapore's customer service is slow to respond and when they do, the reply is inconsistent though it is pertaining to a same issue. Dealing with them is frustrating. You will be better off using the Gumtree app

I have been selling on Carousell for at least 7 years, with 500+ positive reviews.
Even though Carousell is just a platform for buyers and sellers, hence the experience gotten from there from transactions depend on the users themselves.
BUT Carousell customer service is atrocious. Every time you contact them for help regarding a transaction or a user's behaviour, they copy-paste a default response that says their platform has no control over transaction experience, to just post a review etc. Or if you told them a user just left a terrible review for no reason whatsoever, that copy-paste default answer is the response.
Too many times the buyer themselves are scammers, buying your authentic item which they check on the spot, or you offer to go boutique with them to verify authenticity but they refuse, then leave the place. And then contact you days later to claim you sold a fake item.
These buyers most likely swapped out your authentic item for a fake, then demand refund for the fake, hence leaving them with the authentic item, PLUS your money. If you refuse to refund cos they checked long enough on the spot, or refuse to go boutique with you to verify authenticity, the buyer just leaves you bad review, or worst, make a police report over nonsense. What Carousell does? Default copy-paste answer. "Reviews are there to maintain integrity of platform" but the buyer themselves are cheating you!
My account is now restricted because of such a buyer, my years of building rep is gone because of that. Still waiting for Carousell response since a week ago. Submitted proof and all.
Those using this platform, don't get your hopes too high. It's basically you protecting yourself.

Answer: Yeah look you've probably been scammed. Same thing happened to me except the guy sent something in the post so I got excited, but instead of the iPhone I bought he sent me a $10 pair of reading glasses from the post office.
