This probably works good for a deal but a private individual selling a car on here will be very disappointed. You cannot give your number or contact information to someone who is interested in your car. It was a waste of $30 let alone the aggravation,,, I was pissed,, I had 4 people who wanted to buy my car but couldn't get my information to them.
I had an active listing for my vehicle on Coupe CarGurus to which I was surprised last month when they deactivated my listing. When I inquired to customer service they said that my listing price was inaccurate and then I would have to relist my vehicle. When I tried to relist the only option was for a paid $29.95 listing. I get inquired to customer service and their reply was that they could not reactivate on that I would have to pay for the listing. Completely unfair and unprofessional. Stay away this website is for dealers selling their inventory.
IM A TRADER IN THE UK AND I TRADE FROM HOME EARNING AROUND £3000 PROFIT A YEAR. I HAD A PHONE CALL FROM CARGURUS AND AND THEY TOLD ME I COULD HAVE MY PHONE NUMBER IN THE ADS ON THEIR WEBSITE FOR £150 AND IT WOULD BE A 12 MONTH CONTRACT. I WAS LED TO BELIEVE IT WAS A 1 OFF PAYMENT. NEVER DID THE SALES REP MENTION IT WAS £150 PER MONTH AND NEVER DID SHE MENTION THE TOTAL COST WAS GOING TO BE £1800. EVEN WHEN I ASKED HER IS THAT THE TOTAL AMOUNT SHE REPLIED YES AND WHEN I ASKED HER IS THERE ANY OTHER FEES OR HIDDEN CHARGES SHE SAID NO. AFTER SIGNING THE CONTRACT I FOUND OUT I HAD TO PAY £150 PER MONTH AND WHEN I ASKED HER ABOUT IT ALL SHE SAID WAS I SHOULD HAVE READ THE CONTRACT. I BELIEVED EVERY WORD SHE SAID AND THATS WHY I DIDN'T FEEL IT WAS NECCESARY AS I THOUGHT WE WERE DISCUSSING THE CONTRACT ON THE PHONE. I TRIED TO CANCELL MY CONTRACT AND COMPLAIN ABOUT HOW I WAS TRICKED ON THE PHONE TO AGREEING TO THIS AND THE (more of a threat really)REPLY I GOT WAS IF I CANCEL THE CONTRACT AND FAIL TO PAY I WOULD BE TAKEN TO COURT AND THE DEBT COLLECTORS SENT TO MY ADRESS.SO TO SUM IT ALL UP I WILL THIS YEAR BE SELLING CARS JUST TO PAY CARGURUS THEIR MONEY AND ME AND MY FAMILY CAN FORGET A HOLIDAY AND CHRISTMAS.

These guys are the best, Shaquille was the sales person and and helped me a lot, the owner was straight forward. Thank you
Sick and tired of the many ads on TV with clueless people saying stupid things like 'is it petrol or diesel' and is it for triplets. Firms like this are a waste of space.
Excellent customer service, very helpful, good communication and a very smooth transaction! Would recommend to anyone looking to by new or used vehicles
I dont recommend this service to anyone! I am a dealer in Sterling, VA and have been using their services for about 6 months now and I have not had one customer show up for a test drive. You get a bunch of email leads however when you respond to these requests or try calling these customers you don't get a response. The emails come through at odd hours in the day based on the zip codes provided which adds to my opinion that this is a scam. Once in a while I receive a phone call lead but the customers never show up. I had been wondering for a long time about why none of these customers respond to my outreach so I went back and did some research. What I found was that there were several fake customers emailing me on several different cars throughout these months by using the same email address but different names. Either CarGurus is paying out these people to send in leads or has an automatic system that pushes out random emails. The questions and requests are Always the same: "is this car available" and then its crickets. I did some more digging by Googling a customer's name (most people have some sort of a social media account nowadays right?) and so I come to find that one of my "customers" is associated with a group called "Make Money at Home"... makes you wonder if CarGurus is a customer of theirs for sending out fake leads. There is no way all of this makes sense. CarGurus does not provide a service- they only fool you into believing their services work and then push the blame on the dealer if they're not making any sales. If I had spent the crazy amount of cash I pay out to CarGurus monthly on paper ads I would have gotten more people in the door. CarGurus does not even deserve that one star but there is no option for no stars. Do not fall for the CarGurus SCAM!
Attached are photos for proof. I deleted out some sections for privacy but it's still pretty clear.
This advertising company will rate vehicles on price and when you see the car that they list as a "great deal" it's junk! As they say you get what you pay for.
Paid cargurus.com a fee for listing my cream puff '19 Toyota Highlander, a car which sells itself, and an extra $20 to have it at the top of the list. Cargurus gave my car a rating of a "fair deal," even though my price was less than the lowest range on KKB and Edmunds. I had exactly three "people" reach out in a period of three weeks. One was an "Elvis," lol, who wanted to steal the vehicle with ridiculous offers. One was some guy who reached out, but did not leave a message, and one who reached out after I just closed the deal using - Craigslist, the site where I spent $5.00, a tenth of what I spent on cargurus, and got WAY MORE traction. Granted there were a lot of people looking to steal my vehicle on craigslist, but at least I was getting attention. Cargurus is a good site - FOR BUYERS. It does what people love - gives the cars ratings, based on what cargurus feels the car is worth, which in my case, meant that I would have to sell at trade in value to get a good buyers rating on the site. Will never use them again, nor would I recommend to friends. Unless you want to give your car away...
So after spending the money to list on the site, I've concluded this is likely a total scam run by dealers. Here's my story and I will quickly amend my rating and response if someone proves me wrong. As a private party selling, you list your car with details. You provide a VIN to verify. The listing looks good and there is this "contact form" for an interested buyer to reach you. Here's the catch. They enter their phone and email into the form - but that contact information does not get to you. You can only chat electronically on the site and if you enter a phone number or email they block the message. So there is no way to have a conversation with a buyer. Dealers however can list numbers. Several buyers were interested in my car - a very nice car. I finally snapped a photo of my phone number for them so they could see it and we were able to get connected. But within the hour CarGurus deleted the photo. They say this is to protect the parties, but it pertains only to private buyers. Again, I am open to amend my opinion if someone can show me otherwise. The buyers were as frustrated or more so than me. I even had friends run test inquiries and send their contact information but nothing came.
It's a dealers site. It's not a private party site. Don't waste your money listing with them.
Was trying to post a dealer review, Car Gurus requested an email address where I had contacted the dealer. I provided it and they said I had never contacted the dealer. Car Gurus are liars, I still have the emails on my computer. Would not trust any information on their site.
Nick and Romi made my experience smooth and easy. From the time I walked to the door he was already there. Nick already had the car I was looking at pulled up to the side ready to drive. We did a test drive and I completely loved the car as it was exactly the one I was looking for. Nick and Romi work great as a team and will never forget the best customer service experience I have ever had. They made me feel like I was family coming over for a barbecue feast. They made me feel comfortable running numbers and going over the paperwork. I'm truly happy with my used car and the experience I received from Clear Choice Automotive LLC. Nick and Romi are awesome and I'll always be thankful for my car buying experience. I will definitely be referring all my friends to them. Thanks guys, I can't wait to buy my 3rd vehicle with them.
P.S. Did I mention that I bought 2 vehicles that day!

These people dont have a human to talk to. When you do wait on hold for 25 minutes they automatically send you to voice mail, which nobody returns. You can send them an email with a specific question, and you will get a generic response the next day... If you are trying to sell, this is an absolute NIGHTMARE as you, and your buyer wait in limbo for days at a time. Get it together guys.
These people were calling my dealership every day and saying they are going to send a private investigator unless we pay them and I thought it was a scam because I never used car gurus and I never received any letter or bill so I said bring the investigator which never came but they kept harassing me everyday so to make them go away I had to pay them 2,500$. They are PROFESSIONAL scammers! My best advice is don't use them to buy or sell cars! Again I never used there sight
Honesty after I read some reviews I was scare of buying a car in this place but after with Marias help and the manager I was a lot more comfortable with my purchased. Recommended
Finding the car is the easy part... after that things go down hill. With all communication between buyer and seller through Car Guru as a middleman... it's impossible to have a real time discussion with seller... granted a slow responding seller is not Car Gurus fault but in today's instant world... really
I stopped in wenniger auto sales a week ago. I was delighted to see that they had a vehicle of my preference. I bought a 2007 ford taurus sudan on december 23. The salesman was very nice and easy going. The vehicle was priced right. They were very efficient in giving me all the proper paperwork needed. I would recommend anyone whis looking for a reasonably priced car to stop in and see what they have available.
Ali is very good! And helpful one of the best it was a pleasure buying with his help at h greg.com
