I have used CareCredit interest free for multiple things for many years. Had no problem until they switched it to a MasterCard. I have called 3 times now to get errors fixed. I will cancel this account as soon as everything is cleaned up and done.

Very misleading
September 18, 2018

I used Care Credit for some expensive dental work. I was lured in by the promise of interest-free financing for 2 years but if not paid in full on time then the interest is ridiculous. Sounds good, right, as long as you pay within the 2 years. This is smoke and mirrors because, as I understand it, the interest for the interest for the interest free period is just charged to the dentist who in turn tacks it on to your bill. You might be much better off applying for a regular credit card with an intro interest-free periods like 15 or even 21 months for a couple of cards I've seen. As a matter of fact, that's exactly what I did for some more dental work I needed instead of falling for the Care Credit ruse.

Disgusting!
September 16, 2018

This is supposed to be for low income cost pet care and families. What a joke especially after the agent in the phone laughed on the phone at us. we had an EMERGENCY pet bill for my Service Animal, the cost was $350 and we were declined. Their reason, was because e have a couple credit cards open, even tho they were current on payments. We had no other open or hope to pay this bill, since toy can't leave the office without payment for services rendered. I suggest You STAY AWAY FROM this CORRUPT CARE CREDIT. They are frauds!

Pleasant surprise
September 16, 2018

I had read the terrible reviews of Care Credit, so when I set up automatic payments on my large dental bills and miscalculated the end of the interest free period by two months I was worried. Sure enough, with just two months to go I was hit with Over $1500 in interest charges.

But I paid the balance by Check and even though the Check reached Care Credit a few days after the deadline they waived the interest charges and zeroed out my account. Very nice. I'll use them again.

I am really surprised at what I am reading regarding Care Credit. I have had Care Credit for at least 10 years. I always paid my balance off before the promotional deadline. They have saved me many times on vet bills, and medical bills. For my dogs dental work, they extended my time which is based on what your balance is... for example, if your bill is under a certain amount- for example, $800, they will give you six months 0 interest to pay it off. If it is over a thousand, which my dog's dental was, (which is what my vet charges everyone for dental work), then they give you 2 years with 0 interest to pay it off. I have no complaints against them. The service provider always tells me my limit and how much time I have to pay it. I call Care Credit and never have a problem getting through either. I was even a month late from the promotional date, and they allowed me to be extended with 0 interest. Yes, I got a call about a Mastercard, but I just told them I did not want it. I have no problems with Care Credit at all, and from my experience, they do not jack up any pricejust because you use their card... they haven't for me anyway. I also have excellent credit. Thank You CC, you saved me a lot in interest.

Worst company ever.
September 9, 2018

Only got the card because a vet visit which i was told would cost around 2 grand. Was told about care credit (set up from the beginning). I applied for card was approved for the amount needed to cover service. Decided to get 2nd opinion from another vet. The other vet told me about how the companies that accept care credit jack up the rates to make profit for them and care credit. I used this vet which only cost me 300, which i paid out of pocket. When i finally received card in the mail, limit was only 500, instead of the original 2000. They just recently ran my credit(without approval) dropped my limit to 250 and a couple. More points off my credit score.
Find a different vet or try and borrow money from someone you know.
DO NOT GET THIS CARD. IT WILL ONLY CAUSE YOU HEADACHES.

They will report you to credit agencies even with zero balance if you have. 50 in interest not paid due to check being in the mail with correct amount for that time line, but you accrued interest during those 5 days...

Taken Advantage
August 29, 2018

I had dental problems. I am from a foreign country. I needed $7000 to pay for dental work. The Dentist talked me into using Care Credit. The receptionist explained the interest-free program of 0%. However, she failed to mention that after one year, if the money was not paid in full, my interest rate would go from 0% to 26.99%. I've paid close to $3,000 over a period of a year and a half and still owe $6,251.21. What a rip off! Don't use them. Go to a credit union and borrow the money.

Predatory fraud
August 24, 2018

I used $2000 of credit to hospitalize our dog (parvovirus infection). The minimum payments were dwarfed by the fees. When I did not pay fast enough they closed my account and sent a $3500 balance to a debt collection firm. I pay my mortgage faithfully, paid an entire car loan without a single missed payment, pay home insurance, car insurance, and paid off my reatail credit... all that work to build my credit and this terrible company destroyed it. After several attemptes to request correction of negative credit reports, they refused. If you know ANY business who does business with these folks, ask them to stop or threaten to boycott.

A total Racket!
August 21, 2018

This is a scam operation. It's a super predatory and CRASHES your credit score the moment you apply. For $5k credit line (that we're not even going to use now) our credit score dropped from 800 to 714. Read all the other reviews... there all speak the true (except the 5-star ones that are obviously constructed by the company).

Fraudulent
August 20, 2018

Most fraudulent credit card I have ever owned. They require a large monthly payment or you pay 27% interest. Their statement never tells you the amount to pay to avoid the interest charge.

If unable to pay off during the promotional period, they add the accrued interest. That is understandable I guess. You know when you sign up. BUT what you don't realize is that with an interest rate of 26.99% on a $822.00 balance the interest is $18.00 a month. Sure it's my stupidity for getting the card but it is still ridiculous!

I called to get my account number. The first guy hung up on me. The second time I called the girl told me they don't release that information over the phone. She said I had to wait 7-10 days when my card came in the mail. I set the account up onsite at the provider and I did not screen shot my approval with the account number. I needed to get a credit for services provided when I picked up my dog from the provider. The provider couldn't find me in their system. Terrible. This was clearly a mistake.

Rip-off
August 5, 2018

The dentist offices that accept Care Credit have told me they must raise their fees to the patients as certain costs get passed along to them. In turn, they pass it to us... I don't quite understand it but I've been told that by 3 dentists now... then when the "interest free" time period runs out and you haven't paid the balance off, the interest charges become phenomenal. It's actually more cost effective to just put dental charges on my revolving credit card! This card is only beneficial if you can find a dentist that won't pass the extra charges they say they incurr off to you and if you really can pay off within the 6 month period.
