Cardcash.com purchases cards, many that have been purchased with stolen credit cards. They have a 45 day return policy, but will not return your money after that. In my case, the store the giftcards were for, was contacted by the victim of the crime and the giftcards were subsequently cancelled. Because the cancellation was on day 50 rather than day 45, cardcash.com refused to provide the refund and I ended up losing my money. Another card I purchased was used prior to me even purchasing the card, which was refunded. However, I believe they are running a very shady business and are providing a place for cards purchased with stolen money to be sold, and the buyers are the ones that lose. They are profiting from and enabling crime.
I ordered TGIF Cards. I received TJ Maxx cards instead. They sent me a prepaid shipping label to return. Never received the refund. Also referred my daughter and was supposed to receive a 5 bonus for referral, never got that either. Check the balance as soon as you get the cards and use quick. Make a claim with your credit card, don't bother even trying to talk to Cardcash, they won't respond.
Update: They finally did give me a refund but it took a long time and many many emails that went with out a response. I also received the bonus referral.
I purchased a $50 Golden Corral Gift Card through CardCash.com for my parents for Christmas. I purchased it on 11/28/16. My parents tried to use the card on 2/3/17, and they were told that the card had been canceled. Now, the crazy part was that it was actually canceled on 11/15/16 (2 weeks before cardcash.com sold me the card). They informed me that they have a 45 day guarantee and that they can't lose money on this, so I'm out of luck. I would understand if something happened to the balance after I owned the card, but they sent me a card that was dead on arrival! Horrible company policy. I will obviously never use this company again, and I hope you will all learn from my mistake. Use a different company, or instead of a gift card, just use cash!
I purchased 3 chipotle card $50 each. All did not work. I can't get a refund. I purchase them on my PayPal master card and they say they refunded the card, but never did, I'm getting a email run around from them.
They purchased stolen giftcards and put them up for sale. I purchased them ($200 worth). The store the giftcards were for, was contacted by the victim of the crime and the cards were subsequently cancelled. Since there was proof of fraudulent activity the store offered me no credit. When I contacted Cardpool they basically told me that their refund period had passed and they would not do anything, no discount, no apology, no freebie, no nothing. They are liable for purchasing stolen goods no matter what their refund policy is. I cannot very well report something until it happens. 45 days is arbitrary anyway. What difference would it make if it was on the 46th day? None. Terrible customer service. Will NEVER do business with again.
This company sells gift cards that have zero balance or disapearing balances and does not back its so-called guarantee. Cardcash worker Rose Neumann said to me "tough sh*t" (quote) about those who lose money on the cards. Apparently Cardcash says it will lose customers over time as they lose money but with millions of available naive potential customers it does not care about any repeat customers.
I ordered a Loft giftcard and used it as suggested within the first 45 days. It worked fine until the 45 return period ended! The seller of the gift card then decided to call Loft and claimed they lost their gift card and Loft cancelled the amount on the card and refunded the seller. I contacted CardCash and they refused to stand by their customer and pursue the case any further. So I essentially paid the seller of the gift card TWICE for the same card. Terrible customer service and so easy to scam their customers.
Beware this company. I made a purchase last week. Half my order was canceled. So I tried to make another purchase. Now every purchase I have made is being flagged as fraudulent... And the charges are still pending on my credit card. As for the transaction that went through, 2 of 4 gift cards had no balance on them and I'm having to wait 7-20 days to get my refund. I will not be using this website again!
This is an update to my original review. In all fairness to the company, I did receive an email stating, my order is in pending status and that my gift card STILL has not been received. I mailed the card as requested more than 10days ago. I would not use this site again.
We sent $50 of Exxon gas cards to an ill relative with overwhelming medical expenses so he could travel to us for a very important local event. When our relative tried to gas up his car at two different Exxon stations on his way here? Card was rejected. He called the number on the card and they could not even give a reason why it was rejected. He had to stay home.
Everyone was screwed.
I launched an investigation process with CardCash. And we may even get our money back eventually if they deem it appropriate. But I relied on them. And they failed us big time.
Never again.
What happened to us was truly unfortunate and it would just have been an "inconvenience" as Card Cash's customer service department said if it was a $25 gift card to any trivial restaurant or theater but it was a $200 gift card to CVS!. We were very busy for the holidays and tried to use the gift card before leaving for our family vacation at our local CVS. This is when we were informed it had a $0 balance. So we checked it's balance repeatedly on CardCash's website and CVS's only to get an Error message with every attempt!
CardCash investigated only to find the seller had used the card promptly after selling it to them before we bought the number. Since it was pass the 45 day guarantee, we had no recourse. OUT $200! This is NOT understandable. So buyer beware! We will switch promptly to Gift Card Zen or Raise.
Our college age boys had of course advised us that it was a SCAM. Appears they were RIGHT!
Purchased a $100 printable gift card. When I went to use it the balance was zero. Cardcash.com told me tough luck because I was beyond 45 days from my purchase date (it was about 65 days after purchase date). When I talked to the merchant the gift card was for (Panera), they said it was used all in one transaction one month after the date I bought it from cardcash. I wasn't the one who used it, so someone else had to use it, probably the original owner that cardcash bought it from. I strongly discourage anyone from buying from cardcash... but if you do, make sure you check the balance immediately, and use it within the 45 days or their customer service will give you the same tough luck answer they gave me.
Do not buy from Cardcash unless you plan to spend within 45 days. My gift card was not used within 45 days and the balance was reversed since the original gift card owner bought it with a stolen credit card.
Mailed my gift card and they said never received it. With a little bit of wits I called the card holder company to see if anyone used the card given the card number and sure enough someone used the card!
The first few purchases were good but, the gifts I purchased for other people were total SCAM cards. Because it fell outside of the 45 days I got no refund. Check your cards as soon as you receive them at the merchant site and use it right away. That information should be right under the 45 day guarantee. "We can't guarantee that you will get what you paid for." Good luck with that!
Stay away from these people. You get no support at all for the numerous fake cards. They give lip service to helping but you'd better stay with a reputable site like ebay.
I guess I am a fool for falling for the Card Cash scam three times. Luckily two of them were within the 45 day guarantee. One, worth $38 fell outside that window and I didn't get my money back. Don't buy from them and always check the balance after you receive your card.
If you end up buying make sure to use the full balance IMMEDIATELY or you may be out of luck.
I purchase a giftcard from CardCash, com on December 29th 2016 for $395.00 for a value of $500.00. I attempted to use the giftcard a few days later on January 10th, 2017 and it had a ZERO balance. I have never used this card so imagine my surprise and anger - I felt conned. I attempted to contact customer service who provided me contradicting information.
1. I had a full balance on the card and that I could use it
2. All of my balance was used on a shopping trip on 1/8/17 in NY but no proof was given.
3. No refunds would be issued.
"We have received your claim and have located your order. We have checked with the merchant and have verified that the full balance is still on the card and available for your use.
I spoke with TJ Maxx customer service and this card was used in full on 1/8/2017 in the NY, NY location. Please check with he members of your household.
There will be no refund for this gift card.
We look forward to your business again."
I will now file a complaint with my credit card company, BBB and New York State Department of Financial Services.
[Update] My credit card company opened a dispute against the charge on my behalf and refunded my money. Cardcash had the nerve to request that I update my review because they claim they refunded me, I laughed so hard, see attached screen shot.
"Use your purchased card(s) within their 45 day guarantee or else you're out of luck. I purchase gift cards to have on hand when I need them and often don't use their entire balance within 45 days of purchase. I purchased a $25 Dunkin Donuts card and learned it was deactivated when I tried to use it. I called Dunkin Donuts and they told me it was deactivated because it was a fraudulent card. I had a similar experience with a $25 Subway card I purchased. It also was deactivated due to being fraudulently obtained. I could not get a refund or credit from CardCash or their sister company, ABC Gift Cards.
First ordered a Victoria's Secret card. After 5 weeks and no card and minimal response from Card Cash, EBay gave me a refund. Thank God I bought that card thru EBay. However, I also ordered a Cracker Barrel card from them prior to the VS card. I did not have an opportunity to use it until last week, and I was informed by the cashier that it had a zero balance. I contacted Card Cash and they won't help bc the 45 day period was gone. I am confident they, as in Card Cash, baby sit that and steal your money back. It was valid when I purchased it so that should never change. THESE PEOPLE ARE CROOKS! STAY AWAYS!
Answer: Thanks for bringing up the CardCash BBB rating, we appreciate the opportunity to explain why we have this rating. A few months ago we got into a dispute with a seller who defrauded us. We decided to take this matter to court rather than simply resolve the complaint that seller filed with the BBB. As this complaint remains open while the case is adjudicated, the BBB has downgraded our rating. Once this matter is resolved we expect our rating to more accurately reflect our commitment to excellent customer service and business practices.
Answer: Negative comments because they deserve them. They have the best deals because they have the most scammers selling them cards. That's why they only have a 45 guarantee. The majority of their cards will be zerod out by the 45 days or right after. Then, you are screwed. They WON'T refund your money after that.
Answer: Yes, my brother had a bad transaction with Cardcash. He put a hold through PayPal and Cardcash had to respond and then quickly resolved the problem. Cardcash is the only gift card company that I have dealt with constantly sells bad cards. I know only use giftcardrescue, cardpool, or monster giftcard. Never had a problem with them.
Answer: We have a 45 day guarantee for such occurrences. Please reach out to our claims department so we can assist you. Thanks!
Answer: Of course! You are covered by our 45 day guarantee. Please email [email protected] so we can resolve it immediately. Have a wonderful day!
Answer: They don't. Don't do it. They make it seem like this is a better, faster option but they've taken my $150 cards for over a week now and have not responded or provided me the MasterCard info. Please stay away and report to BBB as this is a common practice of theirs.
