I had a great experience using CardCash. It's an easy way to get a sizable discount at my favorite stores. I buy things that I probably would've felt guilty buying otherwise. There were no problems using the voucher at the store.
Do NOT purchase from Cash Card. Not only have I purchased 3 cards that had a 0 balance but was humiliated at a restaurant because I was told the card was a 0 balance and I said there was no way. The card was used in California when I'm from Boston. Cash Card would not refund me my money as I was just over the 45 day mark of purchasing the card. I am out more money than they saved me. STAY AWAY.
Unless you like to Throw away your Money...
If you want a $0 balance on a card... order from Cardcash/ABC. Sure, they'll refund you, but first you have to wait a day or two for them to investigate, and then another 3 or 4 days to get the refund (but of course, that's YOUR banks fault, right?).
So with the expectation that you're going to save 5 or 10% on a $200-$1000 order, instead you tie that money up on a card that's empty, try again with a second, then give up and pay full value. Net result, a negative discount due to the interest charged on your purchase while the merchant and the banks sort it out.
Bought a $100 Black Angus gift card from them for my uncle as a birthday gift. He took his wife to Black Angus - the card turned out to be empty (no balance). Needles to say, a deeply humiliating experience for my uncle in front of his wife, and for me in front of him. To add insult to injury, in response to my complaint, CardCash refused to refund my money. Avoid at all costs. The pennies you save with their discounted cards will turn into dollars you lose due to being defrauded by them
I have been using other sites that resell gift cards and had no problems with them. But with Cardcash.com I have been ripped off 3 times now. They have a SHORT warranty of only 45 days. So if you don't plan on using the card IMMEDIATELY don't even consider using this site. All 3 times someone drained the value on the card just a few days after the 45 days. I almost wonder if the site itself is doing this as a way to make money... that would be a great scam... especially since they are the "virtual" gift cards I seem to be having issues with. Also thier customer service takes a long time to basically tell you they are going to do nothing and send you a form email saying "tough luck". So given other sites give you 180 days or a year guarantee I would highly suggest you steer away from this site and use other sites. Your wallet will thank you in the long run.
On Feb. 24, I bought a $50. IHop card for $42. And gave it to my daughter-in-law. She didn't try to use it for a few months. But when she did, the restaurant said there was no balance on the card. She was embarrassed and upset. I called IHop and gave them the card number. They said it had been used for a purchase of $50. On March 7th in Holland, Ohio. We live in California and have never been to Holland, Ohio. Obviously, a scam had taken place. Now I'm working to get my money back from PayPal, who will investigate a problem within six months of purchase.
Time and again I would receive gift cards with no balance on them. Card Cash would refund if it was within their 45 day guarantee, however numerous times the balance would just "disappear" after the 45 day guarantee was up. Their response: "Tough luck". STAY AWAY!
Purchased 3 Whole Foods cards.
Upon arrival, I discovered that only one had the correct balance.
Another had a zero balance.
The third had only a very small balance.
I have had this same problem with other Whole Foods cards purchased from this site before.
I purchased 6 $50 cracker barrel gift cards in Feb. I offered to treat my family to dinner. It was embarrassing when I tried to pay the bill with the gift cards. Only 2 of the 6 cards were good. I had to use a credit card to pay the rest. Screw me once, shame on you...
I have used cardcash for myself and I did have a problem once where the card was supposed to be $50 and was only worth 9.05 and I had to use a credit card to pay for the meal, it was embarrassing, but I dealt with it. Ordered 2 cards for my DIL and checked the balances before I gave them to her, all was good. She called me from a PeiWei in FL to tell me her $50 card had a ZERO balance. I WAS MORTIFIED! I will NEVER give one as a gift again! I did get my money back, but that didn't make up for how bad I felt!
Cardcash is a website to purchase discount gift cards. DO NOT use them. I have gotten 4 cards now with zero balance on them, one was zeroed out AFTER I used it but should have had a remaining balance on it. Yes, they refunded my money but how embarrassing it is to be told, sir, your card is no good! And of curse go through the hassle to PROVE I bought it, know your purchase date, order number and proof, etc etc. If you didn't keep all your records, you will get screwed! I will never be using this site again. I wouldn't say they scam you, but I don't think they are honest or very careful in what they do. I will not be using their service going forward that's for sure.
Credit/Debit card companies have a much larger grace period. Don't give up your refund request after the 45 day period! Dispute your debit/credit card company. You have 90 days after your first monthly statement showing the charge, so that could be up to 120 days! In California (and many other states), Gift Cards are not allowed to go stale/expire!
Out of over $500 spent in one order, $175 was invalid. These were all assorted restaurant cards. $125 was refunded but Cardcash refused to refund the last $50 outside the 45 day (lame) window. I think good customer service would dictate an exception in this case because of the significant issue with the order.
I purchased a $50 PF Chang's gift card for $40 because it was a good deal. Used it for the first time a couple months later and there was no money on it. Stupidly enough I did not read their fine-print and they are only guaranteed for 45 days. Their customer service department did absolutely nothing for me. So I got scammed, plain and simple. DON'T USE THEM!
Purchased 2 cards, and only 1 card showed up in the mail. Sent a email to Cardcash about the problem, and was informed that there shipping dept. sent it so, I was out of luck. Don't do business with these people, unless you enjoy losing money.
I was intrigued by the discounted gift cards that this site had to offer. I was a first time buyer on their site. I placed my order and not 10 minutes later, got an email saying that my order has been cancelled due to high fraud alerts. I was very confused. I do not know if their company was insinuating it was activity on my end or theirs.
I was hoping to order a digital gift card for my Dad for Father's Day to ensure it would be received, as it was a few days before Father's Day. Instead, I had the money taken out of my account and no gift card. I sent an email to this company to ask why this occurred and they said they did not know. So after that very helpful response, I decided I will not be doing business with their company ever again.
I thankfully got my money back, but I feel uneasy about them having my card information.
I have purchased several e-cards and have been extremely satisfied. I was telling a coworker about my experience and he stated that he has bought numerous e-cards from them without problems.
I have purchase twice from Card Cash. On both occasions, when presenting the email certificate at the restaurant, I was told there was a zero balance. It was very embarassing to me as I had guests with me. I had to pay in cash, and then contact Card Cash for a refund. I was never offered any type of compensation other than to refund my purchase price. Therefore, I will never purchase from Card Cash again.
Like many other of the 1 star reviews, 4 cards I have bought from them to use in restaurants were not honored when I went to pay for my meal. Call the stores corporate office and got identical stories. They were bought fraudulently so the store cancelled them. Cardcash honored their 45 day guarantee on the 2 I discovered in that time frame. After that, you're out of luck. Must be they make enough on the losses, that they can afford to refund if you catch on within the 45 days.
Every gift card I purchases had a zero balance instead of the purchase value that should have been on the cards. The only good thing was the "super" customer service rep who got everything refunded to me.
Answer: Thanks for bringing up the CardCash BBB rating, we appreciate the opportunity to explain why we have this rating. A few months ago we got into a dispute with a seller who defrauded us. We decided to take this matter to court rather than simply resolve the complaint that seller filed with the BBB. As this complaint remains open while the case is adjudicated, the BBB has downgraded our rating. Once this matter is resolved we expect our rating to more accurately reflect our commitment to excellent customer service and business practices.
Answer: Negative comments because they deserve them. They have the best deals because they have the most scammers selling them cards. That's why they only have a 45 guarantee. The majority of their cards will be zerod out by the 45 days or right after. Then, you are screwed. They WON'T refund your money after that.
Answer: Yes, my brother had a bad transaction with Cardcash. He put a hold through PayPal and Cardcash had to respond and then quickly resolved the problem. Cardcash is the only gift card company that I have dealt with constantly sells bad cards. I know only use giftcardrescue, cardpool, or monster giftcard. Never had a problem with them.
Answer: We have a 45 day guarantee for such occurrences. Please reach out to our claims department so we can assist you. Thanks!
Answer: Of course! You are covered by our 45 day guarantee. Please email [email protected] so we can resolve it immediately. Have a wonderful day!
Answer: They don't. Don't do it. They make it seem like this is a better, faster option but they've taken my $150 cards for over a week now and have not responded or provided me the MasterCard info. Please stay away and report to BBB as this is a common practice of theirs.
