This company is not friendly to customers. I called in at 8:30 PM CST and they would not put the payment through that day, and charged me interest and late fee for the entire month. I made my payment on the 20th, and they chose not to run the payment through until the 21st. I asked for the fee to be waived, they said they could not do so as it had been waived before. Yes it was when I called in over 12 times in one night to make a payment and their system was down. Also, you will get a rep in another country who reads off a script. And when you ask for an address to write the escalations dept, they refuse to give it to you. One other thing, you have to talk to them on a recorded line, but when you say you are recording them, they disconnect. Hmm?
Charge Interest to Keep fron Ever Paying Off. I am never late constantly pay them above and beyound. They charge hindden fees and interest to eat our your payments away so never pay them down even if you are not charging on the card they charge your card so that it like your payment dont count. They fraudulently charging on your card each month fees & interest. Watch them your balance never go's even though you are paying them each month.
The worst credit card and bank on the planet. Representatives can't speak English too well, late fees are all over the place and forget if you have any valid excuse.
After the SIXTH rep/supervisor I spoke with today about a BS late fee, I found out everything I had been told so far was either blatantly wrong or an out and outright lie. After 5+ hours on the phone, I am beyond done with this horrible company.
Initially, I called and complained about some reported missed payment (I have never missed a payment with anything!) they rescinded it (was told customers are granted one 1 time). I thought ok, good, at least that is fixed. Then I continued to ask and ask about how the heck it happened so I can avoid ever experiencing it. Mind you, I only charge to keep up my credit activity... I prefer using my bank card. Also, I wanted to ensure there wasn't anything negatively reported on my credit.
I was transferred 3 times to a very rude "credit specialist." Surprise! They don't even HAVE them at capital One! Then after condescendingly walking me through my notifications settings (which were all set as I wanted them to be anyway), she finally sends me to "IT." He proceeds to look into it and then explain how it is a mobile app "glitch" and that it is well known there... they have been "working on it." Then he tells me he is writing a note in my account that it is a "Capital One software glitch" and furthermore commiserates with me and says he is contacting the credit bureau to explain that Capital One takes full blame.
Guess what? After 5.5 hours I find out that no one there can even do such a thing! One positive note is that after I spoke with him, I called again and inquired about my new ballooned minimum payment only to find out that major interest was included... if I didn't inquire, I never would have gotten that refunded despite everything! My conversation with the 7th (and absolute final rep ((this one a REAL supervisor))) finally clarified all of the BS, lies, and incompetence I was fed all day. Acceptable still? Not by a long shot!
Very long story short, I am keeping the account open because of the length I've had it but after my refunds next week, I am transferring my balance to a new card. They wouldn't even offer me anything to keep my service... syonara Capital One!
I deposited my check last night at 838 pm EST but these jerks said I deposited it after 9 pm est. Funny thing is that my check cleared today AND I have the email from capital one that says I can destroy the check! Funnily enough, they have also moved it over to my current balance (remember it is cleared according to them! I get these emails weekly and I always have availability to my money when I get this email…. Not today though) but are holding it and over the course of two conversations with two different representatives I was given three different reasons! There's plenty of banks out there, I think it's time for me to find a better bank! Keep in mind, this is a weekly payroll check as well! They're just being scumbags!
I told Cap one I had covid after a late payment & they turned off my card permanently. This company will never get any of my business in the future for any reason. I verified my earnings of 96k per yr & they still put marks on my credit.
On 2 separate occasions, I disputed charges to my Capital One account. Capital One will request that you write this down and that down. However; the never have any intention on helping you. The last thing they will ask you to do is, get documentation from a similar dealer or merchant, just to procrastinate on making you pay them anyway. I will never use their card again. If I could give 0 stars I would. I hope this saves someone out there from future regret
No security for customers against scam companies. Capital One will protect companies and the customer will be on the hook for the fraudulent charge. Lousy customer service and the dispute process is from the 1960s where they ask you to fax documents instead of uploading them onto a website like other banks
It's absolutely ridiculous how they will flag your account as having "suspicious activity" but when asked what was suspicious about the activity they say there is no specific thing they look for. Was literally on the phone for 25 min while in line at the store and was asked maybe 30 different questions. Ask to send in my ID and a whole mess of other things and the purchase was only 75 dollars like come on do better! I would not recommend them to anyone.
I have always had great credit but Capital One keeps declining a credit card for me. I use my Capital One Walmart card constantly and pay the balance EVERY month on time. So what's the problem? They refuse to give me a different Capital One card. This makes no sense at all.
Husband bought something on eBay wrong fit, immediately cancelled order, only to have seller refuse cancellation and send anyways, We refuse package, and gets sent back to seller and tracking proves seller kept it. After 2 months reviewing this charge with 14 pages of proof, we don't have product and seller signed and kept it, Capitol One has the odasity of putting the bill back on us, to pay for a product, they know we never had, and know seller kept. Several phone calls
In, and with case manager laughing at me on the phone, saying, sorry you have to pay for this, while snickering, I told him to cancel cards and they can keep the bill. Now I'm finding out they are tied to Comenity bank, somehow. That is another screwed up story. Stay Away if you value your credit history.
I have never been so disappointed at a bank like this. I got an invitation from the bank that I am pre-qualified for quick silver credit card. Since it needs good credit score, I waited until my credit scores from different bureaus increased (near 800), then I applied for the card. I got rejected. I called the bank customer service and they told me I will receive a letter (in my mail) that explains the rejection's reason. I waited one month and did not get the letter. BUZZZZ
Then called again and they said they emailed me the letter.
The reason for the rejection was "too many active credit cards" (I had 6 credit cards at that time, after 6 years).
Then I talked to the credit card application agent. First of all, she was too rude. Never let me finish my sentence and had no information about banking. I asked her why I am pre-qualified and she said it is based on the annual income! BUZZZZZ
Then I asked: what is your policy about the credit card numbers? She said she does know and I should call credit bureaus. BUZZZZ
Then, I explained It is your bank's policy not credit bureau policy. Finally, she told me they allow their customers to have only 3-5 credit cards.
Capital one credit cards need good-very good credit score which means they are not the people's first choice when they just started getting credit cards (students like me). People usually start with Amex, Discover, and etc. Based on this fact, a good proportion of people will reach 3-5 credit cards in five years, means they cannot apply for capital one credit card's anymore.
Then I talked with the agent's manager and asked why my credit score is reported 730 while based on the credit bureaus that you mentioned in the rejection letter, my credit score should be near 800.
She did not know. BUZZZZZ
I have asked her about pre-qualification criteria. She did not know. BUZZZZZ
I have asked whether annual income is a pre-qualification factor. She did NOT approve and mentioned the agent should not said that.
I have asked about the number of credit cards limitation and she approved they do NOT allow more than FIVE credit cards.
It would be better if capital one bank could train its employees especially those agents that are rude and ask them not to spread wrong information.
Also, if could be more useful if they hire specialized data scientists to apply an algorithm for pre-qualification instead of just randomly send the invitations (several times) and put hard inquiry for rejected application on people's credit history.
A scammer is using my phone # to obtain a credit card. I called customer service as soon as I mysteriously started receiving texts about receiving a new card. I was assured the texts would cease after 45 minutes on the phone. 5 days later I received 4 texts in a row concerning my confirmation code. I typed 'Stop', but I immediately got a "you have no text account with us" message. I call and demand a supervisor, but this guy simply tells me that there is nothing Capital One can do!?!? WTF? Another money grubbing, compassionless bank- surprise, surprise. How low can the bar go?
I've been a Capital One Card Holder since 2008 (14 years). My credit score in excellent. I recently dealt with Frontier airlines but had to cancel my flight. Frontier airlines refused to give me a refund, or a voucher for future flight. After all good faith attempts were made to resolve the matter with the merchant. I was forced to dispute the charge. After a long dispute process, I was notified by Capital One that I lost my dispute, Note I provided Capital One with several detailed affidavits citing the fact that I did not receive the service I was charged for. Despite all this I received no support from this company. I would caution anyone who is considering this CC, Any CC company that supports a merchant over its customer isn't a CC worth having.
Capital one bank people doesn't even know what a wire transfer is and whats the urgency of people doing the wire transfer, they charge more than other banks but their service is the worst of all. No value for customers here and no value for money. Please dont fall into their glitchy systems and lose your money.
I have been a customer of capital one's for 10 plus years and have had multiple accounts with them. I am a fulltime nursing student and have recently hit hardship and reached out about what assistance they could offer and got meet with no solution. It's a shame when you have never missed a payment in a decade and a company can't even respect that in your time of need. I would absolutely never recommend doing business with capital one
The worse customer service ever received and still never fixed problem nothing but excuses pass the blame game I don't recommend this credit to anyone it's the worse I will be leaving capital one for any other credit card company never choice capital one I will be posting this on instant gram, facebook, etc
They never read what you write, don't care, and if the other end says anything even if not in response to the allegation, and it is a scam and you can prove it, don't expect them to stand behind anything at all, and worse than that not evlauate and give you any reasons. Then after you go to court and prove the people are a scam, it's "TOO LATE". Happened to me just as I said. Don't buy Capital One if you want them to stand behind scams proved.
15 year card holder. Credit Score of 810+. Had a balance of $364, missed the min. Payment of $25 by 48 hours due to bank issues. Customer Service nor his Supervisor was willing to waive the $25. Why? Because that's in our terms and agreement. Will pay off, and not use again! Felt just like a number, not a customer for 15 years of service.
Been a customer for like 9 years. You guys bother me to upgrade my card all the time. I do it because the rewards said I can get 20k miles for spending 500$. I did that and now am getting told that is for new members. Why ask my to upgrade my card If I don't get rewards like everyone like you told me I'd get on The upgrade menu. Could've used my regular card and got more money back. You shammed me and didn't even care to look out. I'll be canceling that card and getting a apple card or something better. Thanks for ruining my view on capital one. I've got 3 people to get cards. I won't recommend you guys ever again and recommend they keep what they have and go else where.
Answer: No really I can't I mean from the very beginning they said they mailed it and then a week later when I called and they had not mailed it yet when I checked my bank they take the money out of my bank and then tell me they're going to hold the money for 7 days to make sure the money is there I think they take the customers for granted in a big bad way
Answer: From my experience, they appear to be nothing but a shady scam bank.
Answer: They offered nice rewards back It sounded more impressive than it is. Big mistake.
Answer: This is the same issue I'm having with Capital One. They make mistakes and then drag their feet and act like nothing is wrong.
