Waste of money
August 11, 2022

So I was almost at my credit limit. If I have tried to put another $10 on I couldn't have. But yet capital one decided to put a $69 charge on my account for a yearly annual fee which brought me over the limit. Now they have charged me a. $29 fee and 2 $5 fees. Bring me even more over the limit and locked my card. I question to them is when was the last time I used my card was May. They put the fee on top after. Then started charging me $5 $29 and so on. To me. This makes no sense. It put me over the limit and they keep charging me on top of it because they put me over the limit. I have been making regular payments every 2 weeks. Capital one really needs to review what they're doing to their customers. It's not right

BEWARE
August 10, 2022

Capital one on line banking is the absolute worst. NIGHTMARE. Be wary of teaser rates. They have tech issues that don't get resolved. No body on phone will do anything to rectify problems except say SORRY OVER AND OVER. THE GOOD INTEREST RATES ARE NOT WORTH THE TIME ON LINE WITH CUSTOMER SERVICE AND GETTING NOWHERE. THEY HAVE NO LEADERS NOBODY TAKES ACTION. SEEMS THE WAY OF THE WORLD TODAY

I just spent two hours on the phone being transferred from line to line, from Capital One credit card specialists to Capital One Travel specialists that only handle trips before 2022, to Capital One Travel specialists that handle accounts 2022 and onward. I hung up with Capital One and called Visa Signature who transferred me back to a Capital One credit card specialist, then back to a Capital One travel specialist. I finally got on the phone with a supervisor at Capital One who told me I would have to wait 44 days for a paper receipt for a business receipt which probably still wouldn't have the correct information on it. All of this to try to get an itemized business receipt for a flight that was canceled in reference to my personal Venture card which no one could provide to me, at all. I am NOT happy with Capital One.

I have had my Capital One Credit Card for 3-3 and half years. I started with a 300-dollar limit. Then about a week they already gave me an increase. Only 200 but in just a week where they tell you 6 months then you will possibly get an increase. It appears that loyalty means nothing to them I have tried 5 times to get an increase and turned down over the time I have been with them for a long time and still on the same job and making more money now and still can not get approved. The only reason I want an increase is so that I will have a larger amount of credit so that I can only use very little and build my credit. They send me emails all the time wanting me to send them business. No thank you. Why would I do that when you don't care about the ones you already have. I am totally in shock. I thought Capital One would be Great.

My wife and I opened a Capital One account over twenty years ago. It was a business related account, and we had no issues until 2022. I recently tried to book a motel reservation in CT for a family trip to New England. We had stayed at a Days Inn in Bethel, Ct before, and we liked the location and cleanliness of the property. I thought I had reached the property, and was quoted a price of $83.70. I booked the reservation and subsequently received an email with a price of $134.44. It turns out that I was dealing with third party reservation service. I immediately contacted Consumer Club, Inc to cancel the reservation. I received a cancellation email. It turns out that Consumer Clubs cancellation email does not reverse the room charge! I contacted Capital One to dispute the charge. Capital One denied my appeal, even though Consumer Club has a 1.8 approval rating (out of 5) and a D+ Better Business Bureau score. I immediately closed my account with Capital One. Why would any bona fide business want to lose a 21 year client over a $134.44 disputed charge, especially to a rouge business? I have never disputed a charge with Capital One before over 21 years. I am extremely disappointed with Capital One. Capital One is no longer "in my wallet"!

Been on the phone for at least an hour every day for the past week about disputing a charge and no one can help me they just keep putting it back on my account. Said I made a cash advance from my car dealership and even car dealership denies putting payment for cash advance. Even though me and the merchant are both saying it wasn't done they still are charging me for a cash advance

UNETHICAL at best
August 8, 2022

We have had checking and credit cards with Capital One for over a decade. Randomly, our checking account was "locked out" for suspicious activity on a joint checking account. I am the primary, my husband is the secondary. When I called, I was told everything was fine, but they needed to speak with my husband. Given that he has never had any activity on the account in over a decade since inception, and is only a 2ndary account holder, this was frustrating to hear. It only got worse. CapitalOne then REQUIRED my husband to physically DRIVE to an office to show is ID! For an account that was opened online, by ME, over a decade ago. What online bank randomly locks your funds and then requires you to drive over 40 minutes one way to a physical location?
It only got worse after that. The "hold" on the checking account was release and I quickly transferred the funds out to avoid any further ransom-like requests from CapitalOne. Then, our business' credit card was also "frozen" and they required to speak with my husband. This is a credit card where I am the authorized user and Iam the POA on file for my husband. When I tried to resolve it, they said the POA was only on file for the banking side, not the credit card. They then required HIM to call, once again. So frustrating! I was unable to see our statements and view transactions, but yet I was able to find out we had a $1400 balance that was due the next business day. CapitalOne was slow to update the POA for the credit card despite their having had it on file on the banking side, making it impossible for me to make payments. Inevitable, finance charges and late fees were headed our way unless I paid over the phone for charges I was unable to verify! We don't use the card, so I was suspicious about paying the balance. And they refused to let me resolve anything. AWFUL company - very unethical extortionist policies to hold your funds and lock you out of your accounts.

It's so painfully obvious that no CEO has ever had to call from the outside and try and maneuver the phone tree that these dumbasses set up. Phone trees and overseas call centers are useless. Sending my call to Pontangisgtan where the people barely speak, let alone understand English is nothing short of useless and annoying. If you don't have a cell phone and you don't speak Poontangistan, don't waste your time and effort with Capitalone.

Dropping credit lines for no reasons, locking unlimited card at about 2,500 unless I pay the balance... when my usual charge is few thousands... useless I've been with them for many years, used to be good. My problem is, I never carried balance...
Credit Score 810, they dropped one line from 18.5k to 10k, the other from 22.5k to 10k...
Now launching a bigger job, I have to combine different cards... ridiculous, will be opening other lines elsewhere. No use for this bs.

Don't waste your time with this sh*tty company. Horrible customer service that's rude and USELESS. Restricted my account for 1 late payment and refused to unrestricted it even though I paid off balance. Canceled my credit card with them but still have an auto loan with 21% apr. They won't let you refinance either even though I've never missed a car payment. Predatory lending at its finest.

I just discovered the capital one is the worst customer protection, I have filled a dispute and the merchant ask me to cancel the dispute to send me the refund, So I called Capital one to ask that if I cancel the dispute and the merchant lied about the refund then can I open the dispute again and they have confirmed that I re open the dispute at any time, The merchant stoped to answer and lied about the refund so I contacted capital one to open the dispute again, it was 2 charges, One they recovered for me and the other amount they told me that the time had past after the 60 days and that they can't refund me any thing, couple days later the sent me a letter that the amount they recovered for me was an error and they took it back, I am thinking to pay off what I owe capital one and never use them card again because they offer no protection for them clients and they lie over the phone and does't recognize them faults

Worst card ever!
August 6, 2022

Was sent email saying my next payment was $62. Somewhere along the line they changed that payment to $63, charged me a $29 late fee, even though I paid it on the 27th, they credited it on the 27th, then accused me of not making a payment, because it was $1 short

Worst Interest Rate!
August 4, 2022

If I could go back in time and stop younger me from opening this card I would a million times. The interest rate is ridiculous and after 2 years I called to request a lower rate and was denied without given a reason. Instead, the customer service representative J. P suggested I make higher and more frequent payments. Lol okay then you can pay it for me since its so easy to pull money out of thin air. IF YOU'RE CONSIDERING THIS CREDIT CARD, DON'T DO IT!

AWFUL! AWFUL! AWFUL!
August 4, 2022

Highly suggest avoiding ANY kind of banking with this financial institution. Closed a credit card account, they still sent statements for change interest. GET AT PAID IN FULL LETTER.

If you speak with ANYONE at Capital ONE request an employee ID number.

I've spent more time with uninformed reps that have given contradicting information. It's a FULL time job getting correct information and requests fulfilled.

I requested payoff letter for a business loan over 2 weeks ago. First they said they can only mail it to physical address. Never received the letter in the mail. Called and spoke with a rep who then told me they can email it in three days. Never received the email after speaking with 3 other reps. I am currently on hold waiting for the request which is not escalated by the Supervisor. Apparently, the loan department does not have numbers that even the SUPERVISOR can call to find out what's going on.

WHAT A CLUSTER FXXX.

By the way, all of the other financial institutions has given payoff letter via email within one hour. First American Bank, Paypal Business loan, SBA loan. Seriously! This situation isn't something you want to deal with nor most people would have the time to spend.

Worst customer service ever! Hidden fees on every statement. I have never been so dissatisfied with a credit card business ever. I highly recommend using a different one unless you like spending hours on the phone to no avail and paying late fees even when you pay on time.

Shady Intro Rate Practices
August 3, 2022

I got a balance transfer offer from Capital One last year for my Quicksilver credit card and I like to take advantage of these offers to make money. The deal was, I would pay 3% flat fee, then 0% interest for a year. Usually, I make sure to track when I need to pay off the card to avoid the interest rate spike and crazy interest charges. But I didn't do that for this one for some reason and, of course, they don't display the end of the rate online because they no doubt want you to pay interest.

So, I called and a customer service representative stated that I had several months more for the promotional rate.

"Great!" I thought and didn't pay off the card.

A couple days later, I got $114 interest charge for the money that was supposedly under the promotional rate.

I called to get some clarification and they bumped me up to an account supervisor who, after expressing some skepticism that I incurred the debt through a promotional offer at all, was able to figure out the truth: the rate had ended.
I asked her if she could waive the interest rate considering a Capital One customer service representative had misinformed me that the rate was still good through October and she said she couldn't. Yeah right.

If you have an option, please don't do business with these people. You may save yourself the infuriating experiences like this.

Customer service called me the "N" word. I called to dispute the sudden closure of my account and why they stole $10,000 of my reward. They claim I forfeited the rewards because the account was closed like I did something wrong. They were just rude about the whole issue. They said they were keeping the money and called me the "N" word.

DO NOT place your money in this bank! Online only investment that is confusing and misleading. Go to a branch no one can help you. Security employees talk down to you and can hold your money, when they release they act like they are doing you a favor. I took my funds out asap and lost $1000. 00. Best money I ever lost as I cross the street when I see whats in your wallet so I can take it!
