We paid with Capital 1 for 11 nights renting condo in Butterfly Karon using "Capital 1 travel" website. After check in, we learn that guests must walk 250 steps up and down from the street to the actual building. It was due to 50% slope of this hill. In 100F heat and 100% humidity it was a mockery. We left after day 5 and asked front desk about refund, which was rejected. We rent another hotel for next 6 days about 1 mile away. We explained all this details to Capital 1, send them photos, invoices, explanation. Hot water problems, cracks on walls, 1mbps internet, no promised Oceanview were just minor inconveniences. Capital 1 refuse to refund for nights we didnt stay, saying Visa card will not allow this. I spend around 4 hours total with c/s on the phone, made 5 calls to c/s, but they keep repeating that i need to "proof that accommodation was different from what i expected". Disgusting experience with Capital 1 when they not support consumer, they are dont care!
If you're anything like me you don't have time to look at your statements every month if things just look normal but when a monthly charge comes on. To your account for a small amount say under $45. You tend to not really pay attention to it because I don't get a paper statement of course. How would I pay attention do it? But now I certainly do get a paper statement.
I was getting a monthly charge from a company that doesn't exist any longer for a year so I disputed the entire year after going through rigorous phone. Calls paperwork etc I contacted capital one because they reversed all the $45 charges that were on my account. They put him back on my account. They said that they sent letter stating they need more information OK but you can do that online if you want now. Okay so I wrote out a letter I uploaded it I sent out 12 of them for the entire year it took me about 2 hours. Do you know I just got a letter in the mail? We are unable to credit you your account because over sixty days we can't do that. You need to tell me your stupid a** customer service. People couldn't tell me that while they were telling me to send out 12 letters. To you stating why...
I'm gonna pay this credit card company off and then kiss their a**'s freaking goodbye and I now get statements so I can look it. Over every month.
I have been a banking customer for couple years.
They closed 2 credit cards because I refused to provide bank statement from my other bank that I used to make a payment from (payment cleared!)
I did provide prove of owner ship from the other bank but that was not enough for capital one.
Do not give them your business!
Capital one allowed an unauthorized charge on my account and protected the Company( Rocket Mortgage) that scammed me out of $500. Capital one failed to protect me as their customer. Don't give them your business. No loyalty to their customers.
Capital One Is Trash I Had Them Over 3 years And All of sudden They keep freezing my account then Close my account all of a sudden witout no explanation And That's Why I'll Never Go Or Recommend Then To No one
Capital One is THE WORST BANK I'VE EVER DEALT WITH. For the past 3 months I've been trying to get a fraudulent charge reversed from mom's credit card but they have been completely unhelpful. My mom is 80 years old, disabled, and live in New York. We NEVER did ANY business with Capital One but was forced into this situation when they took over the bank that we dealt with. In the process of sending new credit cards, they screwed up and sent a card with someone else name on it. We called and told them they need to fix the problem. In the meantime, someone got her card and used it. Her credit card was used in California to purchase gift cards. We notified Capital One as soon as we found out and was told that the charges would be removed. The next month the charge was back on the bill and they claimed that because the purchase "was made in person" she was responsible for the charge. We have called several times and spoken to their fraud dispute department but they refused to budge. Last time they told us to submit evidence but when I asked what kid of evidence they need they would not give me an answer.
Holds my checks for 8 days! Theft! Jordan in Virginia is ridiculous and condescending!
I have been with capital one since 2010 and today I closed my accounts. I called into add authorized users to my two cards and did so over the phone with the representative. No problem she read disclosures and I confirm my identity and everything was added then days later I'm being told that my cards are restricted because they need to verify identity. They send me a link I upload all of the photo IDs and they're still having issues verifying the identity. First is my ID then it's my authorize users ID and social then is the address and I'm sending after two days of sending all the documentation I'm still being told that it's not correct it's not visible I'm alarmed with this and especially when the representative can barely speak proper English and have no clue why my account was flagged in the first place. I take my Social Security and information very serious, so I demanded all of my accounts to be closed and I will never do business with capital one.
Bounced around between multiple department to only end back where I started to begin with. I had my account hacked and they have restrictions on my account with no mention of replacing of $4000 in fraud charges that occurred. Could not go into a location as they do not have one in my state. Frustrating and worst bank and customer service ever. They will rip you off just as much as a hacker. STAY AWAY!
Long time Capital One customer. Treated poorly and made to jump through hoops to prove i was actually the person named on my card.
There are a lot of credit card companies out there that actually appreciate their customers choosing to do business with them. Capital One chooses to act arrogant and will no longer be getting any of my business.
Capital one sends over due payment notice on my statement. I paid the last 2 payments early. They said they weren't paid. The 3 previous months they never even sent a statement. So this month I paid a late fee plus a double payment.
I had an issue with a product and the merchant wasn't helping so I filed a dispute and capitol one refused to work with me so now I'm stuck with a 3000 dollar paper weight
Capital one is was and alway will be sh#$t trash no matter how good you pay or even pay before time in full they will not raise your credit limit i closed all accounts with them
My card was restricted and even after I answered all the security questions including my social security number, the last few purchases, my date of birth, my address etc
They asked me to take a picture of my license

Their secure link couldn't read my driver license information though I attempted many times
They even told me to take the picture outsiside which I did
I have an iPhone 14 with a very excellent camera and the pictures were crystal clear on my end and my license is in excellent shape like new
But their system would not accept it
Their customer service if you can get someone who can speak clear English is horrible
I was told to upload my documents to a different site and they would review it would take at least 7 days
I'm still waiting
This is the worst experience I've ever had with a credit card company
Usually matters such as these are handled on the first phone call not with Capitol one
Spent literally hours on the phone to no avail
Their policies and customer service are only meant to hinder the customer not to help
I will concider closing this account as soon as this mess is cleared up I have credit cards from the major banks and I never had problems of this magnitude until capital one took over the account it was my favorite card to use
Don't pay attention to their commercials dealing with them is a nightmare stay away
Just had to call in to have my card fixed called 6 times got hung up 6 out of 6 times and during one of the calls with a manager she called me mentally incompetent and insane and hung up the phone after I've been waiting for my money to hit my account never going to recommend this awful bank who has customer service willing to belittle and bully they're customers

Don't ever think this company will help your credit, it's completely the opposite because your card has dozens of fraudulent attempts on it
This bank has let me down when I've needed access to my funds the most. Held govt checks for 7 to 10 days and restricted my use of Zelle. They are truly horrible.
I did not approve a purchase or any subscription.
Over a three month period - Cap One has not supported or helped me.
I plan to close my account.
Answer: No really I can't I mean from the very beginning they said they mailed it and then a week later when I called and they had not mailed it yet when I checked my bank they take the money out of my bank and then tell me they're going to hold the money for 7 days to make sure the money is there I think they take the customers for granted in a big bad way
Answer: From my experience, they appear to be nothing but a shady scam bank.
Answer: They offered nice rewards back It sounded more impressive than it is. Big mistake.
Answer: This is the same issue I'm having with Capital One. They make mistakes and then drag their feet and act like nothing is wrong.
