Worst customer service of my life. Do yourself a favor and sign up with the Chase United airline card. Signed up for the airline card where you get 75,000 miles if you spend $4000 in 3 months. I called asking why I never got the points, a person told me they'd be transferred to my account soon. I called asking why they still hadn't been transferred 2 weeks later and they told me that I actually wasn't going to get them because not everyone will "approved" of those points EVEN IF THEY SPEND THE MONEY! I've spent $5000 on this card and planning to use the points to visit my family outside of the country. They said they can't and won't do anything to help or make it right. They're ABSOLUTE TRASH! I'd give negative points if I could!

I've been with CapitalOne for years before the fraud happened and they were NOT able to help with that!
Basically, if you buy a coffee in the coffee shop, give your card to pay for it and cashier does cash back without you knowing, the CapitalOne will NOT protect you from that.
This has happened to me in New Zealand when I've stopped by the coffee shop real quick. Because of the bad reception, I have not received notification about the charge right a way. When came back to hotel-seen that charge. I had to call them FOUR times to report that out and get my money back to my account and all they have said is: "unfortunately, we will NOT be able to help you with that, because the card hasn't been reported stolen".
Yes! It has not been reported stolen, because it wasn't, it has been ROBBED-which has been reported FOUR TIMES! And now they cannot get stolen money back as well as $10 cash advance FEES!
Closing account!
Folks, do NOT deal with CApitalOne! If you are traveling, paying with their card- you can be robbed and they WON'T HELP YOU.

Poor customer service
March 31, 2023

Never thought I would be disrespected but one of the supervisors at capital one. Especially when I used to work them. When a customer calls and needs help with their account or whatever the agent or supervisor is supposed to listen to get the full facts but no I was getting talked over and getting disrespected and getting cut off while talking. This is on way I'll take my business else where. It doesn't ruin it for just one person it ruins it for the whole company! You guys need to train your team better so they do a better job doing customer service. Right now have no skills.

Widows Nightmare
March 29, 2023

My husband died 6 months ago and left me some money to purchase a home. I placed the money in a CD account with Capital One. When I found my house to buy I let Capital One know I would close the CD, open a checking account to place the money. On a Friday I called Capital One with the Wire Transfer information for the Closing. I was told that it was to late for a Wire Transfer so I was instructed to call back on Monday before my Closing time. I followed those instructions. When I called for the Wire Transfer, Capital One REFUSED to send the money. They stated I had to have a checking account 60 days before I could wire transfer from there. I explained that not once out of all the calls I made previously was that explained to me. I reminded them I was in a closing and would be Homeless should the sale not go through. I was told they won't help me. I asked to speak with a manager and was told I was talking to the highest person. I doubt that. I hade to go to the Capital One web site and send a cashier's check to me, pay for it to be overnight. I now have to wait for that check to clear before PNC can transfer the funds. The Title Company can only accept Wire Transfer.

Being a Widow is hard enough. I am also a Senior Citizen. Capital One made this extremely difficult for absolutely no good reason. Plus they left me HOMELESS.

Horrible customer service just horrible.

I have a customer in my shop, NJM insurance has a bad habit of putting the finance company on a check that is for repairs, so Chrysler capital deposits the check that does not belong to them and jerks the customer around for two months, when all they have to do is endorse it and send it to the repair shop. And they had no right because the customer did not even endorse it, so they must forged their signature, stay away from Chrysler capital, they are so nasty and incompetent. They made the customer make two payments for nothing by letting their customer vehicle sit unpaid in my shop. Real lowlifes. Go to Gm they will treat you like gold, that's what I did, I love my caddy.

Very poor service
March 29, 2023

I have had a card with Capital One for years. For a time, I have a separate bank account for regular payments. I changed that a couple years ago and have made regular requests to have my payments go through my main bank account. Usually they would not, so I had to keep some money in my original account. I recently scheduled a payment to pay off my balance and scheduled it for the same day. It didn't come out of my account so I called Capital One to see what it showed. It said I had a $4500 credit. I knew this shouldn't be true so I waited for a week to see if it would change after the payment was finalized. Today I called and I have the original balance of $4500 but my account is closed. I remade a payment with my actual account again and spoke to customer service to see about keeping my account open. They said that since I made multiple payments on an invalid account, it was flagged as fraud. I am not all that concerned about finding a new credit card and have already been approved but I was pretty proud to have a credit score of 790 and now it dropped to 740 and I doubt the fraud crap even got reported yet. Do business with this company at your own risk. Even after 4+ attempts to change my autopay to a new account, it never went through and now I am flagged as having fraudulent activity. I would highly recommend that you find a legitimate company to do business with.

Stay away!
March 26, 2023

I got a Walmart credit card years ago when they used Synchrony Bank. Anytime I had to deal with customer service they were incredibly helpful and flexible. They actually realized they were doing business with real people that sometimes had real people problems. Then walmart did away with Synchrony and switched to Capital One. Absolute nightmare. Their customer service is pure garbage. They only answer your call to give you a verbal middle finger. They can't help with anything, they can't explain anything, they even straight out lie to you. They just repeat the same script lines over and over again and if they get tired of dealing with you, they transfer you to another representative that just repeats the process until you hang up. It's like talking to a machine. You would think they would be interested in collecting payments from you, but they go out of their way to make payments difficult to manage so you stay in debt with them longer and end up paying more in total due to interest. They screw you over with a smile and call that good business. Don't make my mistake. Stay away from Capital One and Walmart credit cards.

Worst bank in history
March 24, 2023

These people froze and locked my account for over 90 days during a "fraud investigation" due to someone on Zelle claiming one of the payments they sent me were "unauthorized" which was complete crap. They lied to me saying they were going to mail the check when I called after I saw ky account was frozen. That was the first day I knew there was a dispute on my account, so fast forward 12 days I'm waiting for a check. Don't see it in the mail, so I call and they tell me without even letting me know in the call that they are STILL investigating my account! They say they just don't want to do business with me anymore and that's it. They were really hush hush about the whole situation and didn't even let me know when my account will be closed/or the outcome of the investigation or when I will even get my money. They finally closed my account 100 excruciating days. Still waiting for the check. Will not ever recommend this bank ever again. Never dealt with anything like this and my last time.

Terrible CD issues
March 23, 2023

Current Money Market and CD customer but unable to successfully open a second CD account.
Multiple tries and calls but unable to resolve, each time told to start over even though the issues were at their end. I finally just gave up and decided to go to Discover. When my other CD matures I'll move it out.

Untrustworthy
March 22, 2023

Capital One can't be trusted! I requested automatic bill pay due to their ridiculous LATE FEES! $40 to add to their ridiculous high interest rates! Due to the incompetence of one of the customer service reps my account was not put on automatic bill pay my payment was due on the 15th if I hadn't checked my checking account for the debit for my payment the following day I would have never known! I call on the 16th made my payment the rep told me I didn't have a late fee but I do now a $40 late fee for trusting the customer service rep to do his job! Capital One won't remove it They're disgusting! They literally don't care about their customers like they used to around 8 years ago now they're money hungry loan sharks! You can only imagine how many customers this has happened to as well as the millions upon millions of dollars they're practically illegally charging their customers and they need to be stopped! Even if a customer isn't on automatic bill pay and happen to pay past the standard pacific time by 1 minute they're still gonna charge a $40 late fee and that's unethical immoral and should be considered illegal! Come on charging $40 late fees for their incompetent employees! Let's not forget you'll get a $40 late fee if you pay one minute after the time they have set up what happened to the customers right and choice to pay on their time even if it was 5 minutes to 12 midnight on the day of payment customers should have that right! It's clear why Capital One as well as the other credit card companies have it set up that way and that's to charge unjustified high late fees! This is only the beginning of my bad review quest on Capital One! They haven't heard the last of me!

They are not as good as old time. I have banking experience with 8 banks. I tried to open CD account online at 7:30pm but it seems not complete because it needs me to call 1800 number showing on the screen and closed at 5pm ET. I called next day. The customer service manager can't honor the deal to me because yesterday was the last day and my system didn't show any record of opening account. I challenged her why did I receive an email that I have updated my profile at 7:30pm? I had closed their account back in 2020. Accused me didn't fund the account but I can't even open account, plus I have 10 calendar days to fund it. She put me on hold whenever she has no points to support herself. Why do you still able to update a closed account from an opening account link? I tested to reset my password and it did. I doubt about their system security. I'm glad this rude manager didn't offer solution for me to open the CD. BBB I reported it.

I asked for her supervisor, they dont take calls? E-Mail, don't have that information? "You have to look that up on your own"? Are they serious?
