I have used and have had capital one credit cards for many years I even brought a car threw them with not much issues,
So I notice paying a bit above minimum was killing me and payments didn't do much on 2 cards I had about 5000,00 plus debt between them.
So I bit the bullet and paid both cards in full.
Dew date came up and they took the auto pay out on both accounts,I had zero balance!
So I called and ask that they return the money so I don't bounce my other accounts they said they would but it would take sending me a check in about 10 business days.
I told them I paid in full it was there Era and I need it now to pay other bills they politely said I can pay my bills with the card?
Why would I want to pay them more and I can't charge interest for lending them money.

So I received the refund finally a bit over 250.00
Along with another letter explaining I paid in full but there was a 45.00 interest that needed to be paid on the account.
I went on line to see what was up I looked at my 2 cards I paid totally in full and always on time and somehow there was Over 200 owed on each card.
So I call again and ask what is going on and they told me I had that much interest from the day my statement balance went out apparently 45 a day.
I aid i paid it in full before there due date she said my due date is the statement balance day and I owe!.
So I again paid 400 plus to pay cards off and then closed everything.
Capital one refused to tell me on a recorded line that my debts are satisfied with them and I wouldn't receive another bill from them ever again.

Poor Customer Support
September 14, 2023

Have a problem with my account regarding interest, after paying off over $10,000 on my card and all the interest. They send me a statement after a month I owe an additional $4.60. Its not the money its the principal. I called and spoke to a foreign country who couldn't help me, went to her supervisor, level 2. She couldn't help me and insisted there was no one higher to help me. I paid the total amount due on the bill and still I owe $4.60. I'm so done with Capital One...

All other banks that I know that pay two days early, meant business days. So I get paid by my employer on Tuesday, but capital one pays me on Sunday. The bank I came from pays on Friday and my coworkers banks pay on Friday. So Capital one's idea of paying two days early isn't the same unfortunately and would be nice to get paid before the weekend starts. I will change banks soon for that reason that actually pay two business days early and not 2 calendar days early.

When you need to talk to someone you may eventually get a real person on the phone but that does not mean that this person speaks intelligible English. I tried twice and in each case I got a person on the phone who I could not understand. I finally gave up.
I'll probably cancel my credit card with Capital One because it seems that they are not "on the ball" with regard to fraudulent outfits.

Liars
September 12, 2023

Im tired of talking to customer support and their canned responses that are lies. "We want to keep your money safe, so we can't let you access it through Zelle." What? That means none of my money in the account I just logged into in order to access Zelle is safe!

It's a lie. I can't tell you how tired I am of "safety" being used to advance self-interest. Just say -- "can't help you." and leave it at that.

I owed Capital One nothing, balance 0. They charged me $20 for an annual fee. I didn't realize it & they then charged me a total of $81.39. I called in & Dana said "oh don't worry, you only owe us $20. I had paid the $81.39 before I called. Dana told me to call back in 5 days & they would return the $61.39. I called yesterday & was told they were not returning any money. Talked to 4 people including 2 supervisors. They ruined my credit score & lowered it about 65 points! I'm furious! I've had my account over 20 years, and always paid my bills on time. They lied to me, big time! They do very sneaky & fraudulent things!

They are NOT your advocate. I spent HOURS on the phone. I returned item with Amazon. I had screenshots, emails and tracking number proving that Amazon received the return. Amazon website tracks return. Amazon was HORRIBLE and claims they didn't receive although their own website, customer service emails and tracking PROVES they did. Capital One charged me back although I can SHOW screen shots of returned item where Amazon SAYS I am due the refund. Crazy! Not done after a month and a half! I sent in 12 screenshots to Capital One and then Nick, Morgan and Alvin tell me that I have to submit new case number. The old case number for which I sent paperwork-that THEY sent me- isn't the right case number! I have to submit all over again! Use another company! I still don't have credit!

We have been the capital one client for over 30 years and never had a dispute with any of our vendors. One vendor gave me a guarantee, and if they did not perform, I would get my money back they did not perform. I asked for my money back and they wouldn't send it, I turned it over to capital one and they did not in anyway trying to help us recover or lost $2500. They did everything they could not to be of service to us. After 30 years with capital one, we have canceled our card and will never do business again with them.

WORST BANK EVER!
September 5, 2023

THIS IS FOR CAPITAL ONE IN GENERAL!

I have been banking with Capital One for almost 3 years. I have filed several disputes with them since then. They always find in favor of the merchant no matter what the circumstances are. For instance, my husband and I did not stay in a hotel and cancelled the reservation within the refund time. I was still charged the full amount from the hotel. The hotel refused to work with me. I filed a dispute with Capital One. As usual, they favored the merchant. Then, I get an email a day ago stating that they were going to remove the temporary credit of $277.12 on 9/15. I called pleading with them to postpone the removal until 10/2. Now, they are going to leave me with a negative balance. They refused to help me. I am so tired of them and their refusing to help me. Why file a dispute? You never win. They are absolutely useless! DO NOT BANK HERE OR PRAY YOU NEVER HAVE TO FILE A DISPUTE ABOUT ANYTHING!

Stay as far away from this company as possible. The limitations and issues with paying online/support are horrendous. Waste of time and money seriously. There are so much better banks to use than this one.

I recently applied for a Capital One Venture card. The bonus offer was 20,000 bonus points for charging $500 within 3 months. I charged over $500 within the first month and received no bonus points. I called Capital One inquiring on my bonus points. The associate told me that the card I have does not offer any bonus points. The associate first told me that I must have applied for the wrong card. Then she told me that I must have gotten declined for that card so they issued me a different card instead... one that does not have any bonus points. What they did was wrong and should be illegal. To no avail, I discussed with her for several minutes how I did not apply for that card...that I specifically applied for the one that has bonus points. She said that if someone does not get approved for the one they apply for, that they often simply approve/issue a different card. THIS SHOULD BE ILLEGAL. She said it's what most of their customers want. That's not what I wanted. That's not the offer that I applied for. Now I have a credit card on my credit reports that I did not request. They have no right to issue me a card with terms that I did not apply for. I applied for a card online, received my approval notification and they send me a card/terms that I did not agree too? That's simply wrong.

Time zones
August 30, 2023

So make sure you read the extremely long and very tiny policy very very carefully. I made my payment on my due date over the phone at 7:45pm and because I don't live in there time zone they charged me a 29.00 dollar late fee. I live in Texas and this is soooo unfair. This is a big enough company that it shouldn't matter what time zone you live in as long as you pay your bill on the due date which I did. That being said I will work on paying this card off and not using or RECOMMENDING Capitol One to anyone else EVER.

Over the years I have had two Capital one cards, the first was a true Capital one credit card many years ago. They hit me with more account fees and interest charges than any other credit company I had, always trying to get the last penny I had. It took me a while, but I finally got it paid off and closed it. Years later I had a Walmart store card and was very happy with it, then Capital one bought Walmarts credit program, I wasn't happy, but decided to try them again. This time they didn't hold back, I paid the card off and the next day got an interest charge for an account that was empty. I just got off the phone where they told me that charge was for the July amount. Really? You're telling me that you as a company bill your customers a month behind? You got me again Capital one, just know that you will NEVER get me again, any credit program you buy that I am a part of, I promise you I will refinance my house to pay it off that day.

The reward redemption rate VARIES, and is hidden. 100 miles = $1 on some, but = only $.80 for others, and only $.50 for most others.! So be careful how you redeem your miles because you may only get HALF of your value! Capital One does NOT tell you this readily. The redemption rate SHOULD be clearly divulged on their website.

This company let me set up a card and then roadblocked me by saying they could not verify my identity... They have my Drivers license, my address, my phone number, and my social security number! They even require I give the last 4 of my SSN to get to customer service, and yet they can't verify my identity?!? Frauds the whole lot of them. DO NOT GET ANYTHING THROUGH CAPTAL ONE!
