We drove 7 hours for a camper in Calera, Alabama. We were told we had an 11:00 am appointment. Each salesman told us to give them 10 to 15 minutes and they would get us started, which never transpired. At 1:00 we were finally told they were having "difficulties " with our camper when they were preparing it for our walkthrough When we questioned what difficulties, we were given 2 different stories about what exactly the issue was. After sitting for hours and hours we finally were taken back at 4:00 pm to sign paperwork, only to find out the price negotiated on signed contract was NOT the price on the financing paperwork. An additional almost $6000 more has been added in. When questioned, the sales manager claimed it was financing fees from the lender. This amount was NEVER disclosed prior to making an almost 7 hour drive.

Our experience was so bad another couple who were about to purchase a $120,000 motorhome with $20,000 down walked away from their deal. They said they would never do business with this Camping World and more than likely no Camping World anywhere.

Run don't walk away from Camping World in Calera, Alabama! If this is how Camping World conducts business, don't waste your time! When a sale can't be handled properly, I shudder to know how they would handle warranty issues!

So disappointing!
May 27, 2023

I am so disappointed. Went through the entire process of getting 2023 Coleman. Even kids were excited. Adam accepted 15k. When putting $2400 down I still owed $2600 more then 15k which was $17,600 even after $2400 down! So, thats almost $5,000 more to pay for all their "destination fees" and "new prep" fees just so they can bank their pockets. This same exact camper sold at a more descent a d fair dealership for only $11,000! So, instead of being fair and not being able to rip me off, he noticed me as a woman he thought he could get over on me but didn't so he instead of making things right he ignores me and loses sale. $$$ over pleasing customers at this rip off of a "company". My kids were excited too. If other customers are that dumb to notice they are getting charged for destination and new prep fees and actually for no reason why!? Don't let pay all that additional $$ go to Kuhns where they treat their customers right!

I went in to buy a camper and Ryan took my info and went to the finance department. I told them my credit was not that good. But he came back and said my payments would run between $400 & $450 per month. That I would need to come up with $1000 down (paid them) and the $2500 cash down at closing. Well now they are saying I am not approved and I cannot get my $1000 back. I am a single mom and I am highly upset. Someone needs to contact me, I am going to an attorney. *******567

When we talked to them online we submitted credit apps. We were given a bank that would be doing our financing and agreed on terms before going to their location. Days later we received a different bank and different paperwork to sign. Now we're getting credit pulls in the mail from several banks. They shotgunned our credit for nothing. We have excellent credit and I bank with USAA. I told them in the beginning if they had any issue I would call my bank and finance through them! We were assured their bank was a better deal and not to worry. I should have went with my bank and not went to Camping World at all. Sales team can't even tell you the bed sizes in the units. They rush you and just show no care or respect for customers. I'll never go back there.

Back tires leaking air,, Wanted new valve stems installed, They put valve stem extensions on, Tires went flat,, Had them service my air conditioner, blowing warm air, Charge me a hundred and sixty five dollars,, Is still blowing warm air,, Wanted full service on my generator and engine,, All fluids all filters all belts, They change the oil in my generator in my engine,, That was it, If they can't do the job complete they shouldn't be messing around,, Now what do I do bring it to a real mechanic's garage, And have them do the job. Correctly.

Started out great
May 11, 2023

Our experience at Camping World started out great, we actually went in to purchase something small like a pop up because we were coming out of a tent, but we ended up purchasing a 2021 Coleman BH which we love. We got all types of warranties and everything with our purchase wich we thought were great until it was time to redeem those warranties. We took our travel trailer in to be serviced (45 point inspection) which was $409.50 just to check everything not to repair anything and another $364 to close a valve that they found open. All of this and they couldn't even give us a complimentary wash of our rv or silicone anything like our windows. But told us we had a pinhole in our roof which we needed to start a claim for with our insurance company so they can repair it and then once it's repaired our 12 year warranty is then void. Camping World is a joke and once our roof is repaired we will no longer be doing business with them, they are nothing but a racquet and taking advantage of people. We will find people outside of Camping World to take care of all our rv needs from here on out.

We were charged $500 walk through/ inspection fee and assured they would make sure everything was in working order. When we got home, the couch recliner was broke on one side, the bunk bed wood had a huge crack in it, and they had given us the wrong power cord. I called and they said I could come pick up the correct one. I live an hour away. Then right after I spoke with them, they called my fiancé to let him know I was wrong about the cord and he needed to double check. I went up there and it was in fact the wrong one. Took them over 3 months to fix the bed but they needed to order parts for the couch. I've spoken with corporate and several managers and I'm still waiting on the couch to be fixed. I have since switched solely to email due to the conflicting answers I get on the phone. Several times I've been told they would follow up the next morning only to receive an updated 2-3 weeks later. Many of my emails haven't been replied to as well.

Customer service
May 9, 2023

Markus thank you.
My partner and I live in our RV which we bought back in October from camping world. We love it. We call it home.

Unfortunately, the last time we had the propane filled we were unable to get it to flow. We were able to talk to a service tec over the phone. He directed us to make an appointment with customer service to see if it was regulator issue.

Being new to the whole RV experience and living in one full time, the thoughts of a regulator issue was scary...no fridge, hot water, microwave, or ac in the month of May in Atlanta ga. Markus helped with setting us up an appointment, and then went above and beyond to squeeze us in. He was extraordinarily nice, helpful, and reassuring, clear on everything. Thank you camping world for hiring and investing in quality people such as Markus.

Bought a brand new Fuel toyhauler with all the extended warranties, settled on a bumper pull because they did not have the 5th wheel we wanted. The salesman told us we had a year to trade it in and not lose very much value. Went in 8 months later and found the 5th wheel we wanted. They only wanted to give us half of what we purchased the trailer for. We filled out paperwork to purchase a new trailer, with a total cost of $105,000 and found out that they were asking the banks for $120,000 so we were denied credit. The salesman, finance dept never called us to keep us up to date on what the status was. We had to always call, or physically go in. They are a bunch of liars with no communication skills! The trailer we originally bought had a lot of warranty work that needed to be fixed. The shower was not lined up with the bottom so no seal was put on. They wouldnt warranty this because the warranty only covers sealant upto 90 days. We let the dealership know of EVERYTHING that needed to be fixed, but we couldnt get the trailer back in before that, so they gave us Heartlands phone number, and we had to do the leg work. Run, do not purchase from this dealership. I know i will never purchase ANYTHING from them.

AS they say on "Lost in Space", "WARNING-WARNING-WARNING-DANGER. A few weeks ago I purchased a new RV from the Camping World in Nashville. For a year I looked at the pictures and the walk around video of the RV. I bought the RV over the phone. When I went to pick it up I was so excited (my wife and I recently retired from ministry) that I believed everything I was told. When we went on our first camping trip I noticed that the rear ladder was not on the RV and the walk around video clearly says there is a rear ladder. The dealership was no help to me (salesman Randy) so I called the main customer service person. The CEO slogan is (if your not happy, I am not happy, Marcus). I talked with Lindsey and after a day she tole me that if I looked at the small print (it took me a magnifying glass) I would see that the legal jargon says the video may not represent the RV that you purchase so there was nothing to be done. I asked to speak with Marcus since he was not happy and they refused. That slogan is not true. I want people to know that Camping World will say anything to make the sale but afterwards tough luck. I am not sure who Marcus is but he is laughing all the way to the bank along with the staff at camping world. If you are looking for an RV please support the "mom and pop" dealers that are out there. There business depends on customer service. When you get a large dealer like Camping World they could care less. The only reason I gave a 1 star is I had to put something down.

They are great sales people, but after the sale is done they are beyond difficult to even try to get any problems resolved. When we picked up our camper (only 1 we will ever buy from this company) the sales person slid in our slides and broke 1 of our fan blades. They haven't even fixed something their sales person broke in front of us. I suggest you shop anywhere for camper but Camping World.

I purchased a new 2022 Jayco Eagle 5th wheel from Richardson's RV and Camping World purchased Richardsons in November of 2022 which had great customer service but since the new ownership my first experience with Camping World was terrible I dropped off my RV for wall tablet issues not working my slides I made 5 phone calls over a 3 week time frame and never received any kind of phone call back so I drove down to Camping World in Colton to get some answer and the young lady in service dept was very nice and helpful she stated the service manager no longer works there and they are playing catch-up after my in person meet my RV was ready the next day, fast forward 2 weeks and my tablet is not working again for my trailer slides, I called a mobile RV tech and he stated to me that the tablet is not the only issue there wires shorting out that controls my slides why was this not caught the first time I was never notified of this issue, I get the feeling once you write the check than they are done with you especially on warranty work so far I am not very satisfied with there performance, I am stuck in the middle because Camping World is the only warranty service within 50 miles of my house. Thanks William K

Listed my camper for sale on Facebook marketplace. Was emailed by Brendan Hall of Wentzville location that camping world was interested in buying my camper. Didn't reply to the email. 2 weeks later he called my wife's cell phone and made her an offer. Mind you we never gave any of our information to him so still don't know how he got the email or the phone number. He took the liberty of filling out the online camper valuation for us to get his offer which he denied along with everything else when I arrived. After they walked inside the camper, they told me they were only willing to give me $2300 less than the offer he made originally. I would have never driven my camper the 50 miles into that location for that. The reason he said was because they would have to put new seals on the roof. I asked him to prove the allegation. We went out to the camper for him to show me and that's when he realized my model does not have a ladder. Not one of them had looked at the roof. They didn't know that I had just purchased this camper a few months prior from a reputable dealer and they had put all new seals on roof per my request. Everything they said was a lie. When I asked for Brendan's manager to come out, he refused to get a ladder saying he didn't have to prove anything. They also called my wife a liar even after I showed proof that Brendan Hall had somehow found my wife's information and emailed and called her. He also stated that he hadn't been looking for campers on Facebook for at least 6 months even when I showed Brendan and his manager that the initial email was dated 1 month prior to my visit. If a zero was possible it would still be too much.

I bought a used 40 ft fifth wheel 6 months ago from Camping World in Greenville South Carolina only to realize when they delivered it there was a hole in the water pump and the auto leveler did not work and still doesn't. They finally sent me a new water pump in the mail and I had to have someone else install it and still waiting for someone to replace Auto leveler and I bought the extended warranty that was supposed to cover these items. Their maintenance department may as well not exist. They obviously do not inspect these when they come in to make sure things work. I would not recommend buying anything from Camping World

Sean is Amazing
April 22, 2023

Sean at Camping World in Golden Colorado is the most amazing service rep I've ever done business with. He took the time to walk me through how to fix my hot water heater and called me back several times after he looked up parts for me. Sean is very patient and integral. Thank you and Camping World and Give Sean a Promotion I am sure there are several people who work for Camping World, that can learn from him, not that I've had a bad experience with Camping World because everybody there is kind, but Sean goes above and beyond.
