Ordered a shirt that was supposed to arrive by December 18th. As far as I can tell has not even shipped. Phone number is disconnected.
Same story as everyone else. I ordered a gift December 5th, still not arrived, and was supposedly shipped on December 12th. These people should be out of business.
Only giving it 1 star because I had to choose something! This site is AWFUL! First part of my order shipped, a week later was told part of the order was discontinued, then the rest of the order had to be re-ordered, again only received a partial shipment with a packing list that included the missing items! Got 2 XL t-shirts, one actually looked alright, the other one had a tag that said XL but was actually a XS. All the while, the entire order was charged to my card even though they say it won't be charged until it ships! Customer service is a joke. They don't answer the phone, when I finally did get someone, they hung up, the "Live Chat" goes into some kind of wormhole. STAY AWAY!
EVERYONE please do NOT let this company get away with misrepresentations on trying to collect payment and earn interest while not shipping products.
There are TWO things everyone can do for recourse:
1) File a Credit card chargeback
2) File a complaint with the California Department of Consumer affairs
If enough consumers speak out, a pattern of shady business practices will be noted with their merchant account AND the state they operate in. In fact, this will get the attention of the CEO to make drastic improvements in how business is run.
DON'T LET THIS COMPANY GET AWAY WITH MIS-TREATING CUSTOMERS. SPEAK OUT AND MAKE YOUR VOICE HEARD.
Paid EXTRA to have it shipped to make it here so I could have it for a Xmas present. Never made it! This sucks!
I bragged about this Co. To my friends but will never again!
Wish I had read this site before ordering from CafePress. I placed an order for an item and paid for next-day "express" shipping. According to their ordering information I should have received it:: drumroll:: the NEXT DAY.
Two days later my order (for an item they had in stock) was still in "production status," i. E. not even ready to BE shipped. After about 20 minutes on hold with customer service, I was told that they had "just" given the package to UPS (once the customer service representative managed to get "UPS" and "USPS" straight. Asked to speak to a different representative; was denied.
The paragon of brilliance to whom I was speaking tried repeatedly to evade my questions about when I could expect to receive the order and finally said it would be about another two days (putting estimated delivery 5 days after the order date and 4 days later than advertised/paid for) then gave me a "UPS tracking number" that, lo and behold, isn't valid. My attempts to call back the customer service number in order to get the correct tracking number were met with a recording along the lines of "due to the number of calls we are receiving, we are unable to take yours."
Horrible, horrible customer service. If you're reading this wondering whether to buy from CafePress, save yourself a huge headache and take your business elsewhere!
It's the lies which spoil it for me. The estimated delivery dates are a load of rubbish. The site states things like your order will be dispatched in the next 24-48 hours when it hasn't even been made. Ordered Christmas gifts and ended up cancelling the order last minute. I've no longer got time to order the personalised gifts I wanted online from else where causing stressful last minute shopping. Not what you want when you want to enjoy the festive period. They should seriously consider the repercussions of taking on orders they can not fulfil. Will never consider buying from them again. If it was a UK company I would be reporting them to watchdog.
Ordered 2 tee-shirts on Nov. 22 as Christmas gifts. Today is Dec. 18--no shirts yet, but my credit card has already been charged! Two email inquiries have gone unanswered, and a phone call to the customer service number yielded a recorded message that said, "We cannot take your call at this time."
Never, ever again.
I placed an order for 4 t-shirts 22 Nov 2013. Was meant to arrive 5 Dec 2013 at the latest. It is now 19 Dec 2013 and have still not received the goods or response to my queries. AVOID using Cafepress.
My kids saved their allowance and placed an order for 3 hoodies on 11/29. Estimated arrival of 12/6-12/9. The package came on 12/14, and only 2 arrived. I called customer service right away. The lady apologized and said the hoodie would be overnighted on 12/16 and I would get it on 12/17.
It is 12/17 and still no hoodie. I called back and the guy I talked to said it was still in production. He said he would "escalate" it if the woman I talked to had not. He said it would be shipped in 2 days. "If she hadn't"?! 2 more days?!
He promised to "escalate" it for me. (I'm not holding my breathe.) I asked for a refund for the 3rd hoodie and a partial refund of the shipping and handling. He said he would do this. Again, I'm taking a wait and see approach.
Hopefully, I will be able to positively update this.
***UPDATE***
The credit just came through on my PayPal account. Now we will see how long it takes to get my son's hoodie.
*** UPDATE 12/18***
Called today to check on status. Still not shipped. Promised, yet again, that it will be shipped tonight and I should get the hoodie by Friday. I was offered free shipping on my next order as a way to "satisfy" me for the latest unmet promise. My response was, "you really think I will be placing another order with CafePress?"
Cafepress just ruined my son's Christmas. I ordered the complete DVD set of "Breaking Bad" and they canceled the order without every notifying me. It was supposed to arrive this week and I've just been told that it had been cancelled. The customer service person said she's sorry, but I should have received an email.
This site doesn't even deserve one star! I ordered a present on the 3rd Dec, it said it would arrive between 9th - 12th Dec. Rang customer service today and she said it hasn't even been through customs and won't arrive before Christmas! Stay away from this site and cancel your order if it's meant to arrive before January as you definitely won't get it beforehand!
I ordered Christmas presents on 5th December. Their ordering system said delivery would be on 10th December. It is now 17th December - and not a sign of my order being delivered! I would absolutely AVOID this online company. BE WARNED!
I paid a bit extra to get my product shipped faster, and they estimated I would receive it Dec 13, great since I have a gift to give on the 14th at a party. They used DHL which instead of delivering to me, saves money by dropping packages off with USPS after shipping it cross country. USPS is taking 2.5 days to deliver it from the local package processing center, as it is in their "lowest priority" category. Now I won't have my gift for the dinner tonight where we're exchanging gifts.
I've had this same issue with retailers that send via UPS but with local USPS delivery. It apparently is a way of cost cutting but the quality of the delivery service is horrendous in this system. Really crappy on CafeExpress part to have people pay extra for faster shipping and then not deliver on it. And they missed by two days, not one, which is unacceptable in any way but especially bad around the holidays.
I needed a nice, modest gift for a company gift exchange. I ordered via phone due to my need and concern about a quick delivery. The customer service rep told me the product was in stock and guaranteed me I would recieve it within 2 days twith paying "express delivery" upcharge. I checked their online tracking system throughout day 2 and 3 which always said, "expected delivery on the 4th (2 days from my order date)". After four days (and buying an alternative gift and being somewhat embarassed by a generic starbucks gift card), I called CarePress' customer service again and was told my gift was, " in production". I still haven't received it (running on 6 days now) and they're not accomodating whatsoever about cancelling orders, giving refunds even for the express delivery. They're a ripoff, go elsewhere with your business.
I bought 2 pairs of sweat pants for my daughters to lounge in during the holidays. I don't know who works at that store but when the sweatpants arrived at my house, I said wtf. They look like clothes you might find at the Goodwill store, no I take that back. Goodwill stores would never sell anything like that. I picked up one pair and there were all kind of stains on them. They were a Christmas gift to my daughter who lives far away, when she looks at them she will think it's a joke or I don't what she will think. They weren't cheap either, 60 a piece, but they were having specials so they came down to $40. If I worked there, their is no way that I could send those pants to someone who paid hard money for. They told me to wash them once and the stains would go away.It's a shame when one puts his whole heart into something and have a company like that take advantage Someone mentioned that the returns are another negative experience, so I am just boycotting CafePress forever. Terrible, Shotty, How does this place stay open. Sounds to me they have alot of people using crack working for them. Never ever again,(;

Yes, some things are highly priced, BUT when it comes to their custom canvas prints, it's totally worth it. I got one a couple of years ago from them, and love it. Recently I found a deal from a "big box" store that has a photo department, and the results are stunningly different. I don't think they are worth hanging on the wall! The colors are muted, the canvas is thin, the ink is flat, and the frame is flimsy and presses through the canvas. Terrible! Spend a few extra bucks for the quality you get here. I will be buying replacements today, and tossing the Wally-world ones in the garbage.
I ordered earrings with a dogs picture on them - they weren't expensive but I still spent 30 dollars - one earring on spots on it and you can't even tell it is a dog - I will never use cafepress again -the trouble of returning is not worth it
Their economy shipping is absolutely ridiculous! They're creating products in no time and then it takes 10 business days to receive it! How is that good business? I have used other websites where I have ordered something with economy shipping and paid less (or sometimes free!) and receive it within 4-5 days! And then they blame it on the shipping company. Well gee CafePress, maybe if you didn't use these terrible shipping companies, us, YOUR CUSTOMERS, wouldn't be giving horrible reviews. The only reason I gave them 2 stars is because the 2 prior orders I made, the shirts came out perfect. TERRIBLE TERRIBLE TERRIBLE! Will never use them again.
A relative ordered "Certified Organic" Boxers for men for me. I told them I only wear organic cotton boxers. The 'Certified Organic" boxers, had a large symbol on outside pant leg, the same certified organic label you see on organically grown foods. However, the inside label read, 100% cotton, made in Guatemala by Boxercraft. I CALLED BOXERCRAFT, and they told me, they don't manufacture any organic cotton boxers. Apparently Cafepress, bought regular cotton mens boxers from boxercraft, and put Certified Organic symbols on outside pant leg of boxers, with intent to deceive consumers. I called Cafepress. Customer service rep. Said certified organic signifies, certified original. She admitted that they weren't organic cotton boxers, only a misleading Fraudulent Facsimile. When I asked her, what right did cafepress have, to purposefully deceive consumers, she hung up on me.
Answer: I believe the company did a great job on growth and promoting the "little guy" and November 2013 they changed policies, changed production, changed items and product quality and reduced shop owners commissions on their way to becoming greedy. They made the company a public traded entity on the stock market and was out for themselves. They got rich, the stocks fell, the products became of poor quality, and August of 2014 the president, CEO bailed out and left. To regroup they have tried to add companies like Marvel Comics, Snoopy and other big names to keep the losses from poring in, instead of supervising quality and buying a better quality product. If you want to see their spread sheet of losses, and their news headlines since please feel free.
