Yeah, this is a website you should absolutely avoid if you're looking for anime goods to buy for a decent price, i bought something in august, waited for it, forgot about it since it was taking so long, and didn't remember it until a few days ago when they sent me a confusing email about my "your item being held for shipping for some reason and if you don't get it you don't get a refund lol" or something, even though shipping should be automatic? Now, i don't check my email often because i'm not 40 so i didn't end up seeing this email, and i completely missed my package and i dont get a chance for a refund, sucks too because the rem figure i wanted was really cute, plus it was only like 10 dollars so whatever but i'm just here to warn you.
Too many hidden fees and fees piled up after another when you make a purchase. It doesn't end there. Once the purchased item(s) arrived at the warehouse, be careful which shipping method you choose. Do not consolidate packages! Price will be much much higher than the item(s) you actually purchased. Even though they say you'll be saving more money by consolidating packages, it's a complete lie. Not only does the shipping costs skyrocket, fees that goes to them also skyrockets. You can't back out once you've purchased the item(s). I don't recommend this website. They're liars!
Buying through buyee has, hands-down, been the worst shopping experience I have ever had. They mispack and mishandle items, when the optional consolidation fees are paid they fail to consolidate items correctly. They have recalled one of my packages (over $1000 worth of goods, and have refused to give me any status updates on it). Contacting customer service is almost always a huge waste of time - they misunderstand or ignore most requests. Buyee also seems to deliberately engage in methods to extort more money from their customers (refusing to change to cheaper shipping methods, shipping in boxes that are way too big for items, demanding additional shipping payments etc.) and for that reason should be avoided like the plague. There are plenty of better Japanese proxy buying services out there that are trustworthy and which I haven't had issues with. Buyee is bad news.
I discovered Buyee through a sponsorship deal that famous YouTuber CandyEvie did with them and she claimed to have bought quite the collection of Japan-exclusive merch through the site. Out of curiosity I decided to give Buyee a try.
Buyee is a "proxy" site that allows you to buy anything from Japan have it "shipped" to your home and is a service that was "meant" to be a platform for people who want Japan-exclusive items but don't have the means to have it shipped internationally. It features goods you can "buy" from sites like Yahoo Japan Shopping, Yahoo Japan Auction, Rakuten, and a handful of others. Within moments you will realise why the entire site is nothing but a scam.
So you start by browsing through the Japanese sites and find the very item you like and pay for it. Buyee will buy it for you and bring the item to the warehouse where you have 30 days to pay for shipping so that the item gets delivered to you.
The 30 day storage timer is already counting down and all shipping methods from Japan to Canada are completely down. At this point it's beyond obvious that Buyee will pocket all that money that I spent to buy these products and sell them to someone else come what may. If you're going to count down on the timer AT LEAST give us a means to get it shipped here and NOT DEADLOCK US INTO AN UNSHIPPABLE STATE.

Stay away from BUYEE! They have terrible customer service!
1. The first thing is, their English online chat is impossible to reach, I waited from 9am to 2pm, finally one guy appeared, I saw it after 10 min and he had already left. Then I received no reply anymore!
2. When something happens, they refuse to bear any responsibilities and blame everything on customers! They are not trying to solve customers' problem, they are treating customers as a problem.
3. They also keep the coupons or refund from stores in their purchasing account and do not give it back to customers or let customers to use them.
4. Also, I grouped 2 packages of 1kg and 4kg, it became 7.5kg after consolidation! Not to mention those are just clothes and do not need any protective packaging!
I could not believe they can expand their service and partner with some famous stores with such terrible service. I believe there are much better choices out there.
This company is a total scam. Fees are overprice, shipping is outrageous, and customer service is an absolute joke. When an issue arises, and it will, good luck with getting any help from them. Buyee will refuse to help you when they can't prepare proper paperwork for customs. Buyee will not help you when your package arrives damaged and missing orders. If you value your money or the product you are looking for, look elsewhere. Avoid Buyee at all costs or you wil be sorry.
I bought several items via Buyee over a year ago, and they were held indefinitely due to the pandemic. I get that, but I was promised that I would be notified thoroughly once shipping resumed and that I would not incur the usual storage extension fees.
They lied and are now trying to charge me hundreds of dollars for a handful of paperback books.
It's absurd, and it's theft. They should be shut down.
Buyee keep on updating me that they try contact seller since 1 month now. But no to avail. I had paid for it but seller still not post it to buyee. And what buyee only update me they still cannot contact seller.
I dont know how long and how many times will buyee update me on the same status again and again. Buyee expect me to consolidate other items and leave out the pending item, and ship internationally once the 1 item arrived, which will cost me a fortune to post it internationally. I want to consolidate to save the postage charges, but option buyee advice me is an expensive one.
Are buyee expect me to spend more in buyee so it is worth it to do international postage? Seems like its a strategy to make people other country to spend more in buyee.

This service is probably fine if you only want to buy one item, however there are so many hidden fees and the service is completely inflexible. Furthermore, if there is staggered shipment of items, you will have to pay consolidation fees and additional storage fees if the items that are out of stock or made to order take longer than 30 days - this is something you will not be able to accurately predict and could lead to exorbitant storage fees that are charged DAILY. Basically, if your order doesnt come as just one package, you could be subject to some ridiculous fees.
Finally, the site and the order process is not easy to navigate and, if youre not familiar with Japanese, it could be easy to misorder items. For me personally, I totally misordered some items because I had seen the katakana for "poster" for an item - however it ended up being a postcard and clear file set. I requested for a refund and I was happy to pay for return shipping for the item if it allowed for the refund to be granted. Buyee did not allow for this, which is fair considering it was an error on my end, however this is worth considering as they are not flexible at all in this regard. All in all, I cannot recommend this service for majority of purchases, it is just not worth the risk and hidden fees.
They are a bunch of useless robots, who will happily charge you for useless service. When it comes to problem, they can't even rectify it in time. It took them ages to just fix a simple document typo with DHL in my case.
I use it first time coz of coupon 2000 yen and I buy 10$ item but have think I can use coupon but no coupon can only use for shipment in they app that so slow and bug I can't even find way use it coupon and have so much hidden few the 10$ item became 50$ you can't cancel bid and you need pay domestic shipment that not even when bid on auction use can't dispose item you need pay domestic shipment that not even show when you bid on auction.

I had a recent experience with Buyee where I overlooked a description of an item. I admit that it's an honest mistake but trusted that after raising this to Buyee management, they'll definitely consider my concern.
It's about an item in an auction priced $1 (since others might bid, it's just starting price) but I didn't notice that there's a ******* yen delivery fee. I raised to management that the item's price is at the most 3000 yen (plastic figure set) and that the seller is definitely waiting for an opportunity to get someone to click and might have overlooked the offer to get a sale.
After raising, Buyee just responded that they cannot do anything since the shipping price is stated in the description even if it's obviously scam. Sad experience, Buyee didn't investigate and just considered it to be my fault for not double checking the translation of japanese to english description.

When I checked my package, wasn't working condition. I even bought insurance from buyee, now they are saying all the electric items are not covered.
They refused to talk with seller as well.
They take $5(300¥) from every item you purchase, doesn't matter if it costs $1 or $1000. Then they charge you $15(1000¥) to consolidate your packages, no matter the size. I ordered for my 6x plain envelope sized packages to be consolidated and now it cost $70(5000¥) to ship, plus they hit you with GST which was another $20 for me. Personally I don't think it's worth the money, considering I use mailing forwarders in other countries, this is just plain robbery in comparison. I only gave this review 2 stars, as I couldn't find another service to use as easily as this one, or I would've given 1 star.

"Unfortunately, the shipping out of the package below has been cancelled, as it was deemed problematic to ship using the chosen shipping method for one of the following reasons:
・Package was too large and/or heavy for the chosen shipping method
・The package contains items that cannot be shipped via the selected shipping method
・The delivery address was changed during the process
・Other"
After Buyee cancelled the shipping option offered which we agreed to pay, Buyee increased their shipping cost by over $100 USD.

Good afternoon, I am writing a review about the intermediary Byuee.jp. I have been working with them for more than a year and this is the third product, actually about which I prompted in anger to write a review about Byuee.jp. The only plus that the service provides is the purchase from auctions, without uploading the amount to the intermediary's website. However, that's all. Logistics are lame. There are a lot of restrictions on the size, it was problematic to send a sewing machine from them, allegedly exceed the dimensions. The previous 2 purchases were small, came with a creak but whole. As for the sewing and embroidery machine, it came broken into the trash. Moreover, I paid for the protective packaging. But it was not made for international delivery, and so to move from room to room, a cardboard box, nothing is fixed, from protection only a purely formal film with pimples. The intermediary refused to compensate even partially for the shipment and the cost of the goods. Therefore, I conclude that I am not clean. Although it's his fault on the face. I DO NOT RECOMMEND IT!
I ordered 4 figures as a Christmas gift. When 5 months had passed and nothing had shown up, they gave me the runaround on where the package is. They "opened an investigation" and bounced me from customer service rep to customer service rep. The box finally arrived out of nowhere after I constantly pestered them for a refund and the box was broken and contained a BROKEN BLENDER. I didn't order the blender and it was packaged broken because the pieces that were broken weren't in the box. When I tried to get a refund for that, they did the same runaround and had me send a million pictures. When I opened a PayPal dispute, they demanded the broken blender sent back even though it should have been covered by IC3.GOV for being a useless item. I've yet to receive a straight answer or refund for all the shipping though I did manage to get the individual small amounts for the figures themselves. Awful customer service, didn't get what I ordered, and overall terrible company. Use a different proxy.
Previously we provided a positive review from Buyee (they credited our account 500 yen to do so--paid for reviews are what you are largely seeing on this site). All was good until we encountered some difficulties. The first concern was several overcharges on domestic shipping, sometimes as much as 1100 yen (11.00 usd). This was corrected, however it took several dozen e-mails to show them that they were making mistakes (they initially would not admit to this). Next. We requested consolidate packaging. Rather than remove the domestic shipping materials and place the items (watches) into an appropriate size box, Buyee threw the items in existing excessive packaging into an oversized box that would have been appropriate for a two pairs of Shaquille O'Neal's Basketball shoes. This require us to use a more expensive shipping service (EMS) as a result. We asked them to use a smaller box. They refused saying we don't have small boxes. (what kind of a shipping forwarding service does not have an inventory of different sized boxes). After more e-mailing, they finally said they could provide a small box but that this box would cost 500 yen (5.00 USD). We ship watches internationally in sturdy corrugated e-commerce boxes. These cost 16 cents (USD). The bottom line is that Buyee is unwilling to meet the needs of its customers--users beware.
Hasn't been very professional experience. They've changed my shipping cost 4 times. The last cost for shipping is quoted 6 times the original quote. At this point, I'd like to ask Buyee.jp if they would like me to pay 12 times the original.
Answer: It's a scam, at least to my definition. They lost an item I bought and claimed the warehouse is "preparing it". When I stated that I wanted a refund because it was lost (warehouse maintenance for 2+ weeks?), they told me tough luck and that they wouldn't do anything.
Answer: Well the thing is they do correspond with you, but either way they don´t understand what they wrote or they just having fun with writing useless sensless E-Mail which completley ignore the context of what you wrote to them before which is just frustrating for everybody, cause the might think, hey we are overseas... so what can they do right?!
Answer: Yes there is a website called neokyo but I think it no longer supports Mercari Japan. Best for Amazon japan and other websites. I've heard the shipping is a bit cheaper
Answer: One where I was really happy and wasn't drowned by fees? No.
Answer: Didn't know at the time when I used them that there were alternatives.
