Using this service turned what should have been a simple event setup into a deeply frustrating ordeal. The interface feels outdated and confusing, with essential settings hidden or poorly explained. When problems arose, support was slow and ineffective, allowing issues to drag on as deadlines closed in. Fees felt unjustified given the lack of real help. For organizers who need reliability and clarity, this platform adds stress and delivers little value.
I strongly advise avoiding Brown Paper Tickets. Working with this company is a miserable experience. Every process drags on with no sense of efficiency. Those in charge appear satisfied with doing just enough to make money while ignoring the needs of customers. Customer service is agonizingly slow and often outright rude, turning what should be simple interactions into exhausting battles. This company leaves you feeling undervalued and completely ignored.
Brown Paper Tickets is without question one of the worst companies a person could ever work for. The so-called leaders are a complete disappointment—idle, detached, and utterly incompetent. Nothing meaningful ever gets done because those in charge seem more interested in showing off than leading. Many act with open hostility and arrogance, speaking down to employees as if respect were optional. It is a place that drains your motivation and punishes anyone who dares to care about their work.
This platform completely robbed us. As new business owners, we entrusted them to handle ticket sales for multiple shows, and to this day, they've never released the funds. There's no way to reach an actual person, only silence and false promises that lead nowhere. Their deceit forced us to drain our own savings just to keep our theatre alive, and the damage it caused was crushing. Years have passed, and they still haven't made things right. They pocketed money from families who supported our work and left us with nothing. This company is a disgrace, untrustworthy, predatory, and destructive. Avoid them at all costs.
The ticketing system worked, but the moment a problem arose, the whole process collapsed. Refunds dragged on forever, and customer support provided barely any meaningful follow-up. Every response felt scripted and detached, showing no understanding or concern for the actual issue. When money and time are at stake, hollow reassurances are infuriating. The lack of urgency and responsibility made the entire experience feel careless, unprofessional, and completely dismissive of customers' needs.
The customer service is an absolute disgrace. No one takes responsibility for anything, and every interaction feels like you're dealing with people who just don't care. All that matters to this company is squeezing out every cent. Brown Paper Tickets is nothing more than a greedy, careless mess that takes advantage of customers who trust them. Save yourself the anger and disappointment—this company is not worth a single moment of your time.
I purchased tickets years ago for an event that was cancelled, yet I am still empty-handed. Reaching their so-called support was like shouting into a void, and when I finally got through, the response was dismissive, cold, and absolutely worthless. No effort, no accountability, nothing but empty words. After all this time, my money is still gone, and it feels like I have been strung along and ignored on purpose. This company treats customers with contempt and gets away with it.
The management and leadership of this company are disgraceful. They manipulate independent artists and small businesses, taking advantage of hardworking people trying to earn an honest living. It is shocking and cruel that anyone in a position of power would treat others this way. Their actions are unethical, exploitative, and completely unforgivable.
Avoid this company at all costs. Management operates without honesty or integrity, and any promise of payment is meaningless. This company should be condemned for its behavior.
I have been trying to contact Brown Paper Tickets for years because our money has still not been released. My organization partnered with them to sell tickets for an event and not a single cent has been paid out. Every attempt to reach someone results in nothing but automated replies and yet another form to complete, leaving this situation unresolved and infuriating.
The platform itself is functional, but customer-facing support feels detached when problems arise. When an issue occurred, responses were slow and overly templated, offering little sense of accountability. The experience gave the impression that once a transaction is complete, follow-up concerns are treated as an inconvenience rather than a priority.
Brown Paper Tickets provides horrible service to its clients. It's a huge waste of time dealing with this company because it's very inefficient. Payments are always sent late, and you'll often have to wait for long periods before getting what you're owed. You'll waste a lot of time waiting, and you'll also wait a lot of time trying to reason with the company's useless and clueless customer service!
I paid for convention tickets and received absolutely nothing in return. Reaching out to customer service led nowhere, only automated emails and no real response. In the end, the tickets never arrived and the money was never returned.
For more than a year, I have been purchasing tickets from BPT and don't have any issues. It is easy to use, it provides me with details about the different events and concerts.
This service is amazing! Buying tickets is easy and they have a wide variety of events to choose from. Ticket prices are also friendlier compared to similar sites. Great service!
With BPT, events can be organized quickly and easily. The website has a good user interface. I've only needed their assistance thrice thus far and they were always ready to help and nice to talk with.
As a venue, we would never use Brown Paper tickets again. They have over $ 900.00 of our community theater ticket sale monies and they are totally non responsive. How any venue is still working with them, I cannot understand. There are so many better options out there. Beware
I ordered some tickets for a show and received them instantly through email. Although it cost more than purchasing it at the outlet, the extra expense was justified given the hour-long commute.
Brown Paper Tickets' user-friendly online ticketing system was a big help. We are glad that they are always available to assist. Every time we have a query, their personnel are really helpful. The many customer-targeted features are nice, and the interface is simple to use.
I'm purchasing tickets for the second time. The information is available for everything from finding information to seeking seats. Quite expensive when compared to in-person purchases, but less expensive when compared to other ticketing applications.
Great place to buy tickets! If you're fed up with Ticketmaster you should check out Brown Paper Tickets. The website is easy to use and I always find the tickets I'm looking for at a great price.
We held a Halloween event in 2020 and had guests pay through BrownPaperTickets. Our guests paid over $1400 through the BPT platform. They have paid us absolutely nothing. We've sent email after email, they did not respond to any of them. They disconnected their phone service. We discovered a WA attorney general complaint against them requiring them to repay all owed funds within 7 months (November 2021). Here it is, August 2022, and still we've seen zip from them. Support emails just say "we're working on it" and there's no way to speak to anyone in person. DO NOT USE!
Stopped buying from other online ticket sites since I started using this app. They still charge you on top of the actual ticket price but their rates are lower.
Needed a refund for a cancelled event and it didn't take long for them to process. They delivered as they promised they would – on the dot. Will buy again when the event pushes through.
It has been a wonderful experience collaborating with BPT for our recent event. Trustworthy partner that's very good at handling money. With their services, both on and offline, I felt we got a bigger share of the deal!
I agree with the other reviewer, who said that she would give ZERO stars, if that were an option. We are a small start-up theatre company serving children and youth. Our event ended 30 days ago, and Brown Paper Tickets is still refusing to disburse our funds. Their phone system is shut down. I have sent seven separate e-mails, only one of which has received anything more than an automated response. They cite "covid-related delays" as the cause for this problem. This makes no sense. Theatres are up and running. Pay-outs are done electronically, which means that they can be handled remotely. Brown Paper Tickets had no problem taking our money; they only seem to be suddenly stricken with Covid when it's time to disburse funds to their customers. As a small start-up, I have absolutely no recourse for this. All I can do is take my future business elsewhere and warn others. NEVER, EVER USE BROWN PAPER TICKETS! I am absolutely at my wit's end. It is very unnerving to have a company withholding your own money from you. I am irate.
I used to use BPT for a small monthly event several years ago. I had a good experience with customer support and used that experience to recommend BPT to a family member starting a new business and selling tickets to events. My family member and his business partner hosted events 3 times a week for 4 weeks starting in June and they have not received a single payment. This is a new business struggling to get off the ground and BPT owes them almost $20k. I am so frustrated and angry. Please beware when doing business with BPT.
Yes, a strong word. But well-deserved. Brooklyn Tavern Theater used Brown Paper Tickets in February 2020 for ticketing for our musical, which ended just before the pandemic began. We sold $2640 in tickets through BPT and they sent me checks totaling that amount. But in early March, I received an email saying that these checks could not be cashed. It was a rough time, March 2020, and understandably with all the cancelled events, their income suddenly dried up. I could understand and waited patiently for payment. At least, for the first 6 months or so. It has now been 2 1/2 years. There is no doubt about the debt—I have the uncashed checks still in my possession. As a side note: my experience with them prior to the pandemic was nothing but pleasant. Apparently a crisis can bring out one's true colors. Read the following before using BPT: 1). They have not ONCE answered my emails with anything more than a mass email and have been unreachable by phone. 2). They have RESUMED business. Apparently our $2640 helped them do this. Why should you assume they will pay you if anything goes wrong. 3). The state of Washington (where their main office is) filed a suit against BPT and the settlement in March 2021 required BPT to contact and pay all businesses and individuals who are owed money, both inside and outside Washington State. There has been no attempt to contact me. 4). Should BPT be allowed to continue on using $2640 of our money (and who knows how much more from others) to sustain themselves while doing business. Is this an indefinite unauthorized loan they are using? We can't let companies do this. They should have to pay us back first by obtaining a loan (for which they will have to pay interest). That's how things work for everyone else. What they are doing is wrong, arrogant and I highly encourage everyone to look elsewhere for your ticket needs.
We've had a great experience, we have used them for 3 events now and their website is easy use and the staff member I contacted was friendly and helpful!
Tried them to get concert tickets and couldn't believe their prices – they were incredibly low! And we got our tickets right after payment. Didn't require much effort on my part at all! Now I know what to do the next time I want to watch a concert again.
