One of the things that I loved the most about working with Brilliant Earth for my wife's engagement and wedding rings was that I could customize a ring online without going to the store. It was so fast and convenient. I actually had my wife's sister help me out so that I could customize and design a ring that she would love. After designing a few different rings, I settled on a final design and I went to the showroom to confirm my purchase and have the ring made. It was so fast and easy!

Brilliant Earth would not process my refund until I took down my 1-star review. This company has mean-spirited business practices. Buyer beware.

I paid a 50% deposit to hold a diamond that I wanted to see in-person. After I drove an hour to my appointment, they said they sold it already! I was really disappointed and confused... my hold was still active and I paid (a lot) for the deposit.

The next day, they called to say it was a mistake -- the diamond was actually in still in shipping. Whew... but it would take another week to arrive. This messed up my proposal timing -- I booked a venue and plane tickets for family, because a few weeks earlier, Brilliant Earth said that timing wouldn't be a problem. I tripled checked with different people at the company. Either they lied to me to try to lock me in, or they're incompetent. Either way, I was fool for trusting them.

It gets worse. They wouldn't even honor the refund of my deposit because I posted a negative review on Yelp! They required that I take down the review first, even though it was honest. Sketchy. Who knows how many bad reviews they've removed like this.

It took a week to get in touch with a manager, but after taking down my original review, he finally offered a $150 discount or to honor my refund. I just wanted my money back, and to never deal with this awful company again. I already had to rebook my proposal venue and plane tickets for family (lost over $1,000).

Now that the refund processed, I am posting this recap of what happened. This is a shady company. Look on reddit on you'll find horror stories about them.

My fiancee and I went to Brilliant Earth's San Francisco showroom to look at engagement rings and it was a wonderful experience. We met with Becca, who showed us a variety of unique ring designs and diamonds while educating us about the characteristics of diamonds and different ring designs. I went into the appointment thinking we would choose a round diamond, but Becca showed us an asscher cut diamond that we loved and we chose that, set in a really unique setting (the Jolie ring). Becca was very friendly and helped us find the ring that was just right for us without pressuring us to purchase. It was important to me that the ring was ethically sourced, so it was great to know that Brilliant Earth only uses ethically sourced diamonds and recycled metals in their jewelry. I was amazed at how beautiful the ring was when it arrived! Highly recommend and we will be returning shortly to get our wedding bands!

My experience purchasing an Amethyst Twist Pendant for my girlfriend could not have been more perfect. The Custer service representative, Allison, was extremely helpful throughout my purchase process. She absolutely understood that I had a tight deadline to meet for my girlfriend's birthday. It's been a few months since I purchased this necklace, and both my girlfriend and I are extremely happy with how it all turned out. The best part is, this piece of jewelry was purchased conflict free!

I had an amazing experience getting my engagement ring from Brilliant Earth. I was involved in the purchase process, but the ultimate decision was still a surprise. I had two appointments with my SO and our jewelry specialist, Kate. We spent a lot of time trying on different settings and she was extremely patient and also helpful in pointing out small differences between the settings and areas that had helped past couples narrow it down. I loved the classic setting we chose and then we had another appointment to view diamonds. Kate did a great job bringing in diamonds in the right range that we had indicated interest in, and even brought in some outside suggestions she thought we would like - which we ended up choosing! My SO took it from there and I'm so thrilled with the final product - it's a beautiful design and I love knowing that I can feel good about where the diamond comes from

There are very few sites on the internet where I would actually recommend that people buy diamonds from because I believe you need to see a diamond before you buy it in order to see the level of sparkle. I have used brilliantearth because they are non conflict diamonds and the company is very legit and repuatable news sources like the examiner have even recommended them. Their profit margins seem to be less than what you would pay retail so it is pretty much a no brainer to buy diamonds from them. I might depend on what state you live in but saving on tax is a big bonus.
