1) You get a quote for your books and they will deposit $ into your paypal account. They send you a shipping label
2) After a couple 2-3 weeks they determine the books are 'counterfeit' and keep them, stating they are turning them over to the proper authorities
3) You just gave your books away and they are probably going to resell them

They quoted me $600 for my books and paid me $4.71 said my books was counterfeit but they was not like the description on counterfeit books they have posted. They said they would give the books to the author for further investigation and they do not. They resell the books for alot more money than quoted to on amazon. They are dishonest company

My books came in the mail fast, were shipped in recycled packaging, and we're in good condition. They were also much cheaper than my college bookstore and other places! I also like to sell my books back here when I'm done with them and recommend this site to my friends.

They give a decent offer until they actually recieve the book and then they will cut that offer in half and you have 2 days to pay them to return the book to you, otherwise they keep the book and send you the significantly reduced amount. I sent them an almost brand new textbook and they claimed it was in poor condition despite having never been used. Seeing that several others had the exact same experience. Good luck trying to contact customer support too.

The book came in on time and was what I needed, but there were no packing slips or any information on how to return the rental when I am finished with it. I'm still not sure how I am supposed to return it.

Got my book in less than a week. Arrived well packaged. Book is in used but good condition... A lot of highlighting within pages but I'm not bothered by it. Very minimal writing within pages.

If I could give 0 stars I would. I sent in several books that were in excellent shape other than highlighting on several of the pages. I marked them as acceptable. The spines, cover, pages were literally in like new condition other than the highlighting. Once they received my books, they emailed to say they had downgraded the ratings. Four of my books were marked down from acceptable to "poor condition" with no explanation. They literally marked one down from 34 cents to 14 cents. The other prices were all cut in half at least. If I didn't agree to their adjustments, then I would have to pay over $20 for them to ship them back to me. I have no doubt that they will turn around and list the books in "good" condition. I understand that they need to make a profit, but this is dishonest and deceptive. I honestly would rather just donate my books than support a company who rips people off.

I was selling a bunch of old textbooks. I used a different site that told me which places would buy the books for the most amount of money. Books Run offered me nearly $80 for three books. One book had a corner of the paper cover torn, but the other two were brand new looking. Allegedly when they received them all three were very damaged. They sent me extremely close up pictures of the "damage" but you couldn't tell if it was even my book or not. They then only offered me $39. After this I read some reviews about the company and found out this is something they do fairly often. I tried to confront them but they pretty much said it isn't their fault and I can either accept the lesser payment or pay for them to ship it back.

They sold me a book without a cover. Yet when I used their buy back program they devalued my book and graded it a different standard than what they sold it to me. My book. Was never touched outside of repackaging and sending it back. Then they have terrible customer service. TERRIBLE experience. Don't use them.

I am currently a struggling college student and I purchased my textbooks for close to $200. Wanted to resell them as a way to make the money back so I decided to use Booksrun. They were offering me only $70 and I had to pay for shipping. They got the books after two weeks and offered me $0 dollars for some condition that was hidden in their terms in agreements. The kicker is that they will ship your books back for $12 out of your pocket. What a joke, do not use this website.

I sold new book because I had double. It was wrapped in plastic bag and then bag for shipping. But after they receive the book they send me another quote saying the book was water damaged and instead of $75 they offer me $30. I said it was not possible water damage cause it was wrapped in plastic bag first. They send me video of random already unpacked book saying this is damage. They did not convince me but I did not have photo or video of my book to send as proof. I acted honestly I even pay some shipping insurance to them, which no one mentioning, so it is just to laugh on if it was not so sad fraud from this website. Deeply disappointed.

HORRIBLE company. I very good condition book in and they came back saying they didn't agree with the very good condition and decreased the amount they were going to send to me. I went to their website to decline the new pricing (knew I was just being ripped off); and they had automatically accepted the new payment. My order was shown as "on hold" I immediately went to their chat - which was useless, I sent an email and I called and spoke with a rep. The Rep said she saw the issue and would request the book be returned to me. She said I would receive a confirmation email. I never received the confirmation. I sent another email and called again. The second rep said he would have to send it to another department and I would receive an email that day. No email. Much later I'm told they already sold my book and my check (for less than I had agreed on) was already processed. Not acceptable. Scammers. Do not sell books to this company. I believe they are crooks.

I was a brick and mortar bookstore seller. I've sold on Abe Books, Amazon, Biblio, and I've sold to other Bookscouter sites. I've never had a complaint about the condition I've noted. Booksrun downgraded all of my books---just so they didn't have to pay out quite as much. The money was insignificant, but the fact that they are so dishonest means I will never do business with them. I want other honest people to be warned.
Update: the company wrote a response and said "the issue was addressed." This is an outright lie. They did not address any issues I had.

I'll give the two stars for the convenience. BUT make sure to take pictures of every single page in the condition of which you receive the book or they will charge you for any marking (highlighting, pencil, pen) that PREVIOUS users created!

I rented a book and it was supposed to be here the second week of June. I never got it. I waited another week and i just asked for a refund. I got my refund of 15 dollars, a couple days later they take out 15, i messaged the same girl and she hasn't replied to me. Now today, they want to charge me 44 dollars for not handing in the book. HOW am I supposed to return something I never received?
