The worst customer experience ever
I made a car reservation through Booking.com in connection to our recent vacation to Rome. We made our entire plan based on availability of the car which Booking.com had confirmed twice!
However upon arrival to the car rental, they were closed and we couldn't get any car. We contacted "customer support" and ended up arguing and waiting in an hour with three different agents who all appeared to follow a script with same fake politeness, totally lacking interest in actually helping a stranded customer.
Finally we got our money back BUT it ruined our plans to visit Pompeii, Naples and Sorrento causing me additional losses due to cancelation fees etc. which Booking.com has refused to compensate.
This was the first and last time for me to use Booking.com.
Well, yes, it is a nice site that gives you a lot of options! You can book anything you want, from your phone app within a minute if you have money))))) But the thing is that if you go to the site of the hotels and airlines or rent a car companies directly-you might be surprised with the price, as it will be much lower! So always double-check!
Booking.com is a despicable enterprise. They are in it for themselves I was overcharged in Turkey by the hotel and contacted Booking.com for assistance. Spoke to many staff with ZERO RESULT. It's been 5 months and lost money because of their lack of customer's assistance. AVOID!

I made a booking for a long weakend away whit my family which was cofirmed and everything aranged,twee weeks before departure the property owner contqcts me adviseing me that the property is sold and try to convince me to take another place instead which is at half the price and not at all what we were looking for,once i contacted booking customer service they advise me thqt they refunded the money which will reflect in my account between 10 and 17 working days after I asked them to rather book another place which is suiteable for our needs.
I am disgracefull and very dissapionted and will never again make use of them as they just do as they please and they force you to accept it.very very poor
Bookings.com cancelled my reso and I only found out when I arrived at the hotel. The representative helped me rebook another hotel (3x the price) and wrote an email confirming they would refund me. When I emailed for the refund they made me stay on the phone for 6+ hours with 4 representatives (1 was so rude and literally said the first representative lied about paying a refund - how is that my fault YOUR employees are lying?). Everytime I asked for email confirmation for proof of what they were telling me they would say they need approval and go on hold for 45+ mins. They have not refunded me for a hotel they told me to book. They ruined my trip, my evening and cost me 600+ dollars. I will NEVER be booking with this scam website again.
After making my booking, I found that the same airline offered the same flights on the same days for HALF the price.
I tried to cancel my flights with Booking.com but there is NO WAY to cancel on line. You have to Call UK and speak to a customer service person to cancel the flight. (How much will that cost?)
You can email their customer service but there is not way of knowing if the cancellation was successful or not.

My wife tried to check into a hotel early and they refused to her and she left her bag there. She went to the hospital in the hospital require her to stay overnight and put a hospital wristband on her. She went back to the hotel to pick up her luggage and ask the hotel to change the room to another night or give her credit, and they said we have a contact booking.com. booking.com refuse to give any assistance whatsoever, and when we demand of the supervisor she refused. She said there is no supervisor ever available and you can never speak to a supervisor. This is the type of operation they have where the phone operators can say or do anything they want and you can never speak to somebody in charge. We will be filing a complaint and contesting the charge with our credit card company. We are going back to Hotels.com and rather pay extra amount money then deal with the worst Customer Service ever.
I made the stupid mistake to book my intercontinental flights with booking.com. Everything seemed to be fine, until I wanted to change something to my booking. I have never experienced such awful costumer service. The past few weeks I have been on the phone with them for hours in total, I have spoken to about 20 different employees who all had another reason for why they could not help me. It has been terrible, and I simply wish to change my flight to another date. I have received countless promises that they would help me and call me back but none have delivered so far. I always stay civil and nice to everyone because it's not the employees fault that the company is awful, but some people even hung up on me because they decided they could not help me change my flight.
Please, don't make the same mistake I did and never book your flights with booking.com, just go directly to the airline instead.
For the second time in less than a year booking.com has proved to me that they are only concerned with taking their % off accommodations.
The 1st issue concerns a HOVEL in CABO SAN LUCAS MEXICO, it does not deserve to be called anything else, i am still awaiting my 6 night refund of a 12 night stay,.
Despite my concerns about the mildew in bedroom and bathroom with supporting photos they still have this hovel on their books, it was the 1st of 400 accommodation bookings over 10 years with booking.com that i have given notice of getting the hell out of the hovel. Valued customer my asse, booking.com would rent you a toilet to sleep on if they could. The 2nd issue in Vegas last week, no reply to 2 messages. Routine goes like this, hotel says they cannot refund as booking made by booking.com, booking.com never answers/ follows up. Pas confirmation numbers and pins...no compute. This has finished me with booking.com, great selling ZERO CUSTOMER SERVICE.
My family accidentally booked at the wrong location and requested a cancellation within minutes of the reservation being made. Booking asked that I call the property to see if could cancel, they were wonderful and canceled the reservation. They provided a cancellation confirmation number and everything. Booking will NOT refund my money. They're awful. Worst customer service.

It turned out they don't book the flight for you, they book the flight with some random info and pretend it's you. Email address or Mobile number on ticket won't be yours and hence you won' the able to manage your booking online or offline yourself.
In my case, their confirmed ticket clearly says contact us for any changes, contacting them 5 times and kept telling me to Airline and then Airline says I need to go to Booking.com! It is worse in case of low cost airlines because they will charge you about $15-20 transaction fee if you need to change or cancel your flight. I ended up forgoing the $150 ticket cost just to keep my sanity and booked my flight again (this time at $200) directly with the airline.
Even when I called to cancel the flight that I don't want to get on anymore (just trying to do the right thing) they asked me to call the airline as they are unable to even cancel the flight! So why the hell I paid you for booking? My dog's poop would do a better job in being a middle man than Booking.com
Me,my sister and my niece booked a bedroom in Extended Stay America hotel in Secaucus N.J. Through booking.com for two days and was emailed a confirmation number. When we arrived to the hotel after driving four hours, we were told our bedroom was over booked after paying $310. So, then we had to book another bedroom in another hotel and pay $400 when we arrived at the other hotel. This is very bad business.
I booked a room Oct 2022 for a one night stay in April 2023. In March 2023 I received email and notification that my reservation had been canceled by the hotel with no explanation. I tried calling hotel several times no answer, I sent emails, and messages through the app with no response. I finally called Booking.com to ask why my reservation had been canceled that I booked 5 months before. I was told by an agent that the hotel in question is no longer doing business with Booking.com and canceled anyone who booked through them. I then told them I needed my money back to book another room. After a 45 minute fight they said they spoke to their supervisor and I would receive an email shortly. I received email which stated I would receive refund in 5 days. I let 2 weeks go by and called back for another 45 minute phone, as I still did not receive refund. They told me I need bank proof and receipt that I paid plus a notification that I couldn't dispute through my bank( they allow 60 days only for dispute). I previously provided all this to them. I was then told I could book another room for a discount that they recommended, so I did. I arrived at the recommended hotel, it was practically falling down. The building was so old paint was chipping, a single microwave was located in the lobby just sitting on a chair, the gentleman who checked my husband and I in was rude and unfriendly and we were forced to pay another $100 at check in. The room was dirty with missing tiles, faucets falling off. My vacation has come and gone and I am still waiting for my refund from the first cancelation. I will never use Booking.com again.

Only to find out that the hotel was out of business and I had to prove that it was charged to my account. They did not find me a replacement hotel to stay in for the same price. Nor did they care that I was left without a place to stay. So beware before you purchase.

When you check into your hotel, it's billed to your Bookings.com reservation plus incidentals (local calls, parking fees, resort fees, dining, bar fees, Europe charges local or city tax, spa fees...) the hotel will ask for a card as a hold for these fees. Use bookings.com, find the hotel you wish to stay in (get all info and contact them directly via website and price match) the Marriott in Rome had a room for $80.00 less on the Marriott website than these, so called MONEY SAVING SITES.

I had to go to American Express customer serviced to complain and they gave a dead line for explanation. They had no explanation for crappy service and had to repay me.
