Awesome website
March 9, 2020

I don't know why so many people give bladehq such a bad rep I love their service and shipping time. I always get my orders in 2-3 days four max. Bladehq usually ships within two days. All in all awesome website and customer service.

Poor service!
January 25, 2020

Ordered three knives and was suppose to receive a free multi tool. Order took one month to get to Canada, no multi tool was included. Emailed and was told that multi tool couldn't be shipped to Canada and they didn't have anymore anyways. Total BS! Send me something else of equal value then! Poor poor poor customer service!

Profits over people
January 6, 2020

Stop putting profits ahead of people. BHQ used to care about its customers. As a Utah based company, they have forgotten that it was Utahn's that helped them get their start. It's great that they have grown the way they have, but in growing they have done everything they can to sell more knives across the world. This is not a bad goal, but the result of their policies has led to leaving their home market underserved. They also have done little to expand their customer service department, and are still using the same inventory system that was outdated back when I worked there in 2012. I went to spend my hard-earned money on some knives this past weekend. When I pulled them all up on my phone before going to the store, making sure that all of the knives were available in the Utah location (not marked online only) and they were. When I got to the store one of the knives had changed to being online-only, and the other two, although showing as being available online, were apparently no longer available. This was the last in multiple negative experiences BladeHQ has manufactured by not taking steps to actually improve customer experiences.

Worst service imaginable. What should be an enjoyable shopping spree turns into a nightmare when ordering from Blade HQ.

Shopping online is a simple thing. Find what you like. Pay. Sit back and have a fun time waiting for your order to arrive...

Meet Blade HQ. From demands that the customer has to email them in 24 hours, then told to call in instead of the supplier calling the customer to generally unhelpful uninterested incompetent employees that gives a crap about your order paid for by your hard-earned money that pays their salaries.

Most useless service on this planet. Employees obviously underpaid ex Mcdonald's drive-through attendants being paid to parrot instead of think. There is no service and you will regret having to deal with them. When you finally reach a senior employee they are equally unhelpful and inattentive.

Happy to post screenshots of the counterproductive communications (getting it wrong multiple times) with them. Demanding replies within 24 hours, demanding phone calls from my international location. Apparently it's a customer duty to serve and think for BHQ. We pay their salaries.
Service representatives copy and pasting unrelated emails to me. A proper s#&tshow. No means of getting assistance regardless of the issue when contacting them seems to be common practice if you read the reviews. Treating customers with suspicion and rather than a welcoming attitude.

Standard operating procedures are counterintuitive and without regard for the customer. Self-serving.

Canceled my orders and headed over to Knifecenter.com. Simple and efficient... Got 2 emails, "Thank you for your order, has been shipped and tracking details". Now why complicate things unnecessarily?

Great Customer Service
December 5, 2019

I ordered a Benchmade Bugout and received it about 5 days later, and it wasn't the knife for me. Because I checked out as a guest I called customer service, and within 10 minutes I had a return postal sticker and a full refund. I particularly worked with an individual named Chris who was friendly and helpful. Great stuff.

Don't use them! I bought a 289.00 Hogue OTF. The knife was exactly what I was looking for and it was the last one available. I had spent a lot of time doing research and finally took the leap. I was very excited! Then, upon opening the package, which was in terrible shape, I see a used or returned knife. It was dirty and grimey, stained even. It was clearly hades and had wear on the blade and clip. I contacted them and they said I could send it back or get store credit. I had my heart set on it and wanted to keep it as it was the last one. They offered me a 20.00 store credit. As if I want to spend another dime with these $#*!s. Basically, I'm stuck between a rock and a hard place and I paid full price for a used knife in a torn up box that is also missing the paperwork and the tool that was supposed to come with it. $#*! these guys. Buy local, if and, whenever possible.

Poor Customer Service
September 24, 2019

My son was allowed to buy an expensive knife for earning his Eagle Scout rank. After 2 weeks the assist mechanism wouldn't work properly. Even though it had never been used, only carried, they would not refund his money.

Not a good source to buy. They don't inspect their product before they ship them. I purchased an over $500 dollars knife but they did not inspect before they ship it out and I received a defective knife. Contacted them with 2 video clips and detailed description but no response within 2 business days so bad customer service there. This thing is going back and I'll never buy from them again.

I'll start with the ONE positive. The product shipped out in great time. My problem - please take your time & ship me a product that was not opened before i bought & obviously used before you took my money & shipped it to me. 2 Boker knives, 1 of them with the seal broken & looks as though it was used as a counter demo, and both Boker blades that should not be shipped out with blades this dull.

I will never spend my money on Blade HQ again - these manufacturers should be LIVID you deal with your customers like this. It makes me wonder if i should buy a Boker knife. Go buy from your local store, whatever the drive, i'm sure it's worth your money over Blade HQ. Very let down.

I made a mistake and bought Spyderco paramilitary 2 $170 plus $37 shipping from bladehq. After almost a week of order, being in status not shipped I send them a question through customer service asking why my order is still in status not shipped'. I get a reply stating that I should provide a photo ID (for a $200 order, what?) for further order processing. I send them my photo ID (attached as a file) the same day right after I received that email.
After couple of days, I'm writing them again asking what's the problem now, they respond with the same thing, asking for a photo ID. This time I reply to them with one photo in the mail body and one as an attachement. However, the next day I get an email saying that I did not provide them a photo ID and my order is refunded and cancelled.
My order was placed on 06/13/2019, allegedly refunded on 06/21/2019, today is 07/01/2019 and I still did not receive a refund on my bank account, usually when I refund something from other online retailers (Amazon, eBay, etc.) it only take about 2-4 days for a refund to get registered on my account.

Ordered knife, tracked it up to day of delivery and it was returned due to BladeHQ error. My address was exact on the order page leading me to believe it was an address error on their side with a misprint of some sort.
Confirmed receipt of knife with BladeHQ and I simply asked for it to be shipped overnight at no cost to me since the knife was paid for and their was no error on my end.
They refused and wanted me to pay the $5 UPS shipping fee.
ARE YOU KIDDING ME BLADEHQ?
Over $5 you won't keep a customer happy?
Cancelled the order, writing this review and will never patronize your site again.
Congratulations on being the definition of poor customer service and causing me to steer others away from your business.

Horrible
November 28, 2018

Ordered a knife with 2 days shipping. After 5 days I contacted them and they said it had been shipped. After almost 2 weeks I contacted them again to get an update and they said they were out of stock and refunded me my money. If I hadn't stayed on top of them they would have taken my money and never shipped the knife. The tracking number they gave me told me that they had only created a shipping label but never shipped anything.

Slow shipping
August 17, 2018

They have the slowest shipping of ALL knife vendors. It typically takes two to five days before your order is ever shipped. They print labels right away, but do not actually ship items. Even when express shipping is paid for. Stay away. There are plenty of reputable dealers who offer outstanding shipping and customer service.

My experience with bladehq.com was excellent up until I attempted to return my purchase. Their customer service was notch, the order went smoothly and I received the knife in fine condition ahead of schedule. I purchased a $450 MicroTech Scarab Executive and was just not happy with it. It was my first experience with any OTF and I found the blade play/reliability of lock up to be less then stellar. I shopped around the site a little more and decided I would exchange the knife for a side opening automatic designed for left handlers. It was a lower cost knife but thought I could be refunded the difference. I contacted bladehq for a return authorization number and received on right away. I also agreed to pay a 5% restocking fee and the return shipping. Here is where I made a mistake. During the couple of days I had the knife, I reversed the pocket clip for left handed carry. Without thinking about it, I packaged the knife up and returned it per their instructions. After waiting a few days, I tracked the package and saw it had been delivered. The next business day I sent an email asking if the knife had been received. Within a couple of hours I got a response saying the knife had indeed been received but upon inspection it was determined that the pocket clip had been reversed and scratched the opposite side of the knife, voiding their return policy. They immediately sent the knife back to me with no notice or anything. I understand why the exchange was rejected but I was really disappointed that they gave no other options like a trade in value or something. Not even a notification that they could not except the return. I am sure they are making a lot of money on these knives given their high price. It seems odd they were not willing to help me out a little more.

I have always been very pleased with both Blade HQ and Blade Play. My purchases have always been correct and as advertised. I have always received a tracking number and shipping is prompt. As far as I am concerned, both companies are first rate. I recommend both companies highly.

This has to be one of the greatest sites in the knife world! Excellent customer service, knowledgeable sales staff, perfect return policy and follow through, I now always go there before I buy a knife to check prices etc and often end up buying from them.
