I started an ad campaign 2 weeks ago. It cost over 11.00 per click and I received 28 clicks... over 300.00! Not One CAll but loads of emails asking questions about service... many were from foreign names. The time/date stamps of these messages did not coincide with the list of contacts on their dashboard. Just this morning I received 4 contacts within 10 minutes but no responses or dialogue ever occurs after their first question. All of my customer through OTHER companies either call or continue dialogue and 0ver 50% result in a sale. In 2 weeks Ive responded to 20+ emails within 20 minutes of initial contact but they NEVER replay back. I think I just got Catfished. And It would have cost me a pretty penny if I wasnt taking advantage of that free 300 credit. Maybe it was all to bait me into continuing service after that credit was gone. I'll Pass Yelp.

Not happy
August 14, 2017

Launched my biz on yelp, then a few days later a guy named mark as yelp advertisement manager called me in a pushy way to pay a couple of hundred dollars for yelp advertisement. I had budget not allowing me to do, then he had to call me every week.
My clients wrote reviews on my yelp page, and yelp software decided those were not recommended. I called yelp customer service for the reasons today 8/13/2017, she simply threw a ridiculous answer-software did the job to determine if the review is recommended. I was confused and had to require more details about how software decides whether or not a good review. Then, she seemed losing her temper, but still didn't answer the question I concerned.
I wonder why Yelp.com would hire these people to work. Seriously, the staffs I talked thru phone, who either passively aggressive or helpless. These people will push the biz owners decide to use alternative--google.com and yahoo.com for their business.

Word of advice - run away. Don't get caught in any traps about free trials etc... nothing is free, and you will get charged a outrageous amounts of money.
Horrible customer service! Just honestly the worst company ever. I have never put a bad review out there, and this one had to be done.

I refused to buy yelp be side it sounded like Yellow Pages where they make false claims of clicks charge tons of money and never deliver. IF you decide not to pay they sell the debt to collection companies who threaten lawsuits.

No paid click campaign works period

Very Disappointed. Yelp allows Bad Reviews of a Business but will not post the many 5 Star Reviews. Yelp does not represent the true Customer Experience. It seems to be a Hoax to get you to Buy their Advertisement Campaign. So disheartening..

Not worth the time or money! Add clicks pricing fluctuate! Gone from $1.63 a click to 2.76 over night! Wtf! They didn't tell me it would fluctuate til I cancelled my contract and now I have to pay a $650 early termination fee which in the end is better than fulfilling the rest of the 7 months that are left. I pay $ 375 a month on clicks. I had this service since January and received one customer and I received calls about services I do not do, which wasted my clicks! I am a new business owner. It is best if you already have a good reputation with loyal clients to get this but not for brand new owners. You'll be wasting alot of money..

You will be sorry?
July 4, 2017

What a waste of time and money. Just send them the money and expect nothing, and they are very happy to take it from your account, stay well clear of them. This is a scam. Your positive feedback will be denied with yelp leading your clientele to believe you have a bad business. I have not made a dime and pay $550 per month in advertising. You are trapped with a steep penalty if you terminate early. Business owners beware!

Yelp Sucks
June 19, 2017

I have filed two complaints to yelp due to fake reviews of my business. They basically ignore me and took side of the 'reviewers'. While we have 3 other reviewers that gave us 5 stars, they placed them under 'currently not recommended'. This is a site that practice fraudulent activities themselves. I would not pay a dime to this 'website' and would never rely on it's reviewers!

June 9, 2017

What a waste of time and money. Very unhelpful with complaints, but they are very happy to take money from your account that is not owed and then refuse to pay it back. Honestly, stay well clear of them.

Signed up for Yelp ads, got the sales pitch of how they would generate a ton of business and my account manager was just a call or email away. Not the case at all, sent my account manager several emails, called and left messages. No call back no email back for weeks! I was not generating many leads from this which was my reason for contacting him. I cancelled my service and told them this was why. They charged me a $700 cancellation fee, I called them to ask about it, they just bounced me around to several departments and did nothing about it, I even asked if I signed back up and tried it again would they credit the $700. They said no way, so I tried calling back and asking other departments, they said they would call me back but never did. I could not believe how horrible their service was. If I ever treated a client like that they would probably be writing a terrible review on Yelp.

Fraud
May 24, 2017

I have a new small business. As most owners know the marketers attack you. I figured I would give yelp a whirl. Locked me in 3 month contract max 325 a month in leads. For 3 months I was charged 325 and got zero calls. Contract finally ended so I called to cancel and of course they need 30 days notice. But turns out the account representative did not activate my account properly so people could not contact me. They said oh well and offered to correct it now. No refund or credits. Said my ad appeared and that is sufficient. Total scam

After running a short ad campaign I quickly realised I was being charged over 50$ per click despite having a daily maximum budget of only 10$ and monthly 300$. The problem is the language. It says AVERAGE daily maximum budget. Meaning that if no one clicks the ad early in the month, in the last few days of the month yelp sees that the monthly maximum hasnt been met and "bids" on clicks with an absurd budget. This is a shady practice designed to maximize yelps revenue. I only charge 150$ a job on average and in no way would allow a 61.25$ click for each POTENTIAL customer. I wouldnt have thought such a big company would have such deceptive practices

I wish I had read these reviews before I signed up with Yelp for business owners! At least I only signed up for 3 months instead of a year and got a reduced rate. I'm really disappointed in Yelp. I thought they were reputable, and most people I know use Yelp. I can't tell if it's brought me any new business.

The absolute worst.
April 10, 2017

I wish I had seen these reviews before ever posting my business to Yelp. I also wish they hadn't won that class-action law suit. Yelp will not stop calling me, & they will not post my genuine positive reviews. This company disgusts me & I will impatiently wait for the day that someone takes them down... ugh.

I signed up on Yelp for Business Owners. When I received a phone call from "Dakota" (not sure if the fake name was north or south) it was all the warning I needed. NO company the size of Yelp gives that kind of personalized service to ANYBODY unless they're out to drain their bank account. I didn't answer the call; I had a voice mail. From the time that call came in, I received 5 more spam calls on my cell phone (which is firmly implanted in the National Do Not Call Registry) and 26 spam emails in the space of 10 hours. Only after that call did I decide to start Googling and searching others' experience of this hardcore mafia, and we all know what I found... 1 star, 1 star, online mafia, don't go near them. Suspicion pays off; I did not lose ANY money with them, thank God. If it sounds too good to be true, it probably is, and adhering to that old adage saved me hundreds.

Small Business Mafia
March 13, 2017

It is sad that anyone would make things worse than they already are for small business owners. They have some sort of "algorithm" that they won't disclose to anyone and can't explain how it works. But it magically highlights your negative reviews and hides your positive ones until you spend money with them. This behavior is disgusting. With their high-paid lawyers they even won a class-action law suit. Look it up. Please don't feed the internet mafia and let's put them out of business.

I have used Yelp in the past and paid over $4000 in my purchasing of ads. As of a year and a half ago I cancelled my ads feeling that they had not produced the returns I was looking for. I received a call from a new rep asking me to come back and try the company again, with an ad credit. This then turned into a paying ad service on my credit card that I had tried to cancel online, but for some reason it didn't work on their site (you click cancel and cant... hmmm) so the ad runs were not cancelled and my credit card was charged again for another two months. I just called Yelp to complain explaining my experience and was told that Yelp felt that it wasn't their fault, and by their policy the don't issues refunds that are not their fault. So basically their button to stop your campaign and stop charging my credit card doesn't work and yet its my fault. The person I spoke to was diligent and said she totally understood my frustrations but had to stand behind their policy. I explained to her that company growth is about listening to your customers and exceeding their expectations, not falling short of them. I also explained that I would be going onto social media platforms to warn others about their suspicious tactics and billing practices.

Watch out! Save your money and go buy yourself something nice because this service isn't worth it.

If I can save other people the $500 this cost me this time around, I will be happy that I have done my part to cost this company the way they have cost me personally and financially.
