I did a 6 month Yelp advertising campaign for my business and got nothing for my money! I was charged every time my listing was displayed, but there is no way to confirm this. I was charged for clicks on my account, but there is no way to confirm this. And I was charged for calls to my business that I never received! After spending $500 per month for six months, I cannot confirm anything that I got from this ad campaign except for two phone calls. They have blocked legitimate reviews supporting me and refused to do anything about it because a computer program controls it. In sum, I spent almost $3000 and did not receive anything that is tangible. Yelp is a great scam for advertisers.
First off they never mention that EVERY single time some one clicks on you're profile it charges you're credit card $10-19.99! They said I had a free trial and I cancelled after 24 hours and they charged me 120$! They should be put out of business.
They told me they will give 900 dollars on free advertising they told I don't have to pay unless I get business out of the campaign. They got my credit card number i did not get any business of course I did not get the free advertising now I have been trying to call them and reason with them I explained everything and they suppose to tranfer me to someone that can help and they hang up on me everytime stay away away from this people please they need to go out of business
Yelp is being so far the worst place to advertise. Campaigns will not deliver. Positive reviews are being hidden and Yelp will keep your average score close to 3 star by keeping mostly negative reviews. When calling they will say that their algorithm is deciding which review to stay. My Business have more than 60 five star reviews and only 5 are showing. On purpose positive reviews are not showing to create a negative picture for the business.
I initially came to Yelp because I assumed (wrongly) that they were as reputable as other well known internet companies that shall remain anonymous. They touted their $300 in free ads, but then proceeded to (simply) charge my card $376 (a common dollar figure in reviews), and refused (after a few attempts to request) to refund the money paid for something that was not clearly explained. I was also overcharged for services I didn't authorize. STAY AWAY from yelp for paid advertising... just do their freebie!
Business managers will say anything to get you to sign up, even offer 900 dollars in credits that do not exist. They are scammers, and you won't gain any business, and the only calls you'll receive is to pay for even more advertising.
Yelp is a major rip-off! I was lied to by one of their reps, Magdalena Montenegro. I didn't even want to sign up with them but she assured me that I wouldn't be charged until I wanted to increase my exposure. I asked again to make sure... "So this won't cost me a dime until I'm ready?" She again said no. With that being said, I never even bothered to complete my profile. The next thing I know I was charged $124 two months ago that I didn't catch and just now got a bill for $510 that lucky enough didn't go through. I spoke with their billing dept and they basically told me to kiss their asses and it will go to collections.
I'm not sure if there is a way to fight this but at the very least I will post this experience on every website I can as well as make a youtube video calling these people out. I was misled and conned into signing up and now at their mercy. Legal action on my part is still a possibility.
Signed up for a free profile but near the end of there was an issue with their site. I received a call back from their support people to help resolve the issue. I believed everything was set. Today I check our business accounts and find they billed us 120.00 for an ad campaign we did not ask for and did not use. When I called support they said they don't ask for a card and that if a mistake was made it was our fault and refused to refund the amount. We have not benefitted one bit from Yelp. They are as useless as their customer support is unfriendly.
I'm a resident over at Birchlanding apartments and I hav several issues with my apartment Mr Victor and his assistant Jay was amazing while repairing the issues, the put down plastic for the walk way to keep from walking on my carpet and as he repaired the issue Mr Victor talked and walked me through what he was doing and why. I'm highly satisfied with the job they did repairing the damages and they were very professional while repairing it.
In the last few months I realized Yelp has reviews of my business, so I decided to set it up like I did with Google Business... Anyway, after adding photos and updating my listing etc etc... I would get an email, from clients, here and there asking why I removed their review. I was like WHAT?! So, I looked and yep, all but four 5 star reviews have been removed (hidden). Yes I have 1 star reviews, I run a fishing business and sometimes people don't catch fish, which is expected from those who think you can catch a fish on every cast, however, Yelp has made it that the 5 star reviews show less and they keep all the 1 star reviews on your listing. So... I wrote this on my about the manager... And as for the reviews on here... You cannot always trust reviews on Yelp. Seems that quite a bit of our reviews, 1-5 star, have either been made invisible to the public or removed. So if you have left a review and I did not respond or you do not see it, it is because Yelp has removed it for some reason... Let's see how long it takes for Yelp to realize I wrote that and take it down and how many of the 5 star reviews are removed. I will update... OK 5 minutes later I get a rejection for the update on my profile. YELP IS A JOKE! I wish more people knew that and realized that YELP wants you fail and it's like they want you to pay a ransom to release your 5 star reviews!
It's unbelievable how wonderful the customer Service is here. Mr Larsen my sales representative alongside with his finance team made a miracle happen for me. I can't believe how easy it was to pick a car and sign the paperwork. I'm still in disbelief that I got a new car. Christian Larsen is the best
So I opened by restaurant about 3 months ago. After the first month I started to get calls from Jojo A specialized agent for Thai restaurants... He persisted on calling about every other day trying to get a hold of someone to talk about there services. I work a full time job and then go to my restaurant to help my wife after 1pm in the afternoon, So I am very busy. I finally got to talking to him and he initially told me it would be about $300 a month for advertisement. I thought to myself $300 is way to much for us rite now. He persisted on calling still every other day. So I finally talked to him and told him I would only do this if it was free. His next words were "Done" " it will be free for you to try", Oh I thought yeah I guess if its free I will give it a try. 3 days before my one month I wanted to see how my progress was on new people checking my page and getting directions. It literally was almost the same as one month before. BUT... I checked and I was just charged $428 for the first money... WTF. I called the agent that signed me up I emailed him and no response. I finally called Yelp and told them the story and they said it was my fault that I checked the boxes... But how was I supposed to know this agent did not have the authorization to say it would be free for me to try out? The persisted on saying they could not do anything I checked the boxes.
If I can tell anyone anything is, its not worth it in the long run. Try Google or any other service out there, it will be cheaper and you will have a greater return.
My call came from a representative name Bibi. She called me and for 40 minutes assured me that the promotional $300 advertising credit would allow me to 'test' their ad service without the risk of losing money. She made statements like, 'what are you afraid of' and 'my manager and I will check in with you in 3 days to see if you like our service." Needless to say, I never received a follow-up call. When I called her on day 6, I discovered that she was no longer an employee with Yelp. I later received a bill for $141.16, and when I contested the charges, I was told, 'this is a self-managed account' and Yelp offered me 'more credits.'
I filed a claim with the Better Business Bureau (BBB) regarding Yelp's misleading practices and how their customer service team placed the responsibility solely on my shoulders.
It's a rip off. They tell you it's $15.00 a day per click only if they click on the otherwise you don't get charged. Somehow from there it went to almost $24.00 per click and not once we were told that number was supposed to change. Total bait and switch. Plus add some more charges that didnt even know were there with nothing to show. Barely any clicks to the add and 1 phone call only that didn't even do the job. $400.00 later with nothing to show. I deleted today. BS company. Put your money in any other form of advertising but Yelp.
I am a successful business owner of 18 years plus and yelp is always trying to manipulate us business owners by paying for an ad... and that's the only way that they will put a good reviews on the top... then they allowed someone to post photos of different people that have nothing to do with my business whatsoever and then they claimed the only way to remove that is you have to pay for an advertisement through yelp which is BS I warn everyone do not use yelp it's a manipulative vindictive company
How can a site that is based off getting the best front of house service for its "users" have the absolute worst service for its customers? Their tactics are agressive, their fees are outrageous, their promises are blatantly wrong. What is good about them? Ummmm... they have 24/7 support (but you cant do anything with your account outside of business hours). ALSO they don't send you a bill, they just charge your card.
Eric-James Bolin cold called me and gave me the same line that the majority of you folks are saying. I called him regarding this issue and he basically told me to pack sand and hung up on me. I didn't receive one bit of business from their so called free promotion. I had to change my checking account so they couldn't take out any more money Stay far far away. Scam!
Stay far, far away! They cold called me, then gave me a "tour" of their business site. They said I had to put in my credit card to show them how the site worked, but that I would not be charged for the first two weeks, so it wouldn't cost me anything. I was skeptical, so I hesitated, but he assured me I would not be charged if I canceled in the first two weeks, so I succumbed. After I signed up, the service was awful (they couldn't get me logged in to my own site), and the number of searches for me didn't budge. So I canceled within two weeks, and they charged me $278! They won't remove the charge. I put in a dispute with my credit card company, and I'm considering going to small claims court. They're awful!
I was charged $31 for 3 clicks! 3 click with no lead or call back. THIS IS NT FOR SMALL BUSINESS AT ALL! This is very very expensive and youre not guaranteeed business at all! A dude could accidentally click your ad and back out immediately, BOOM 10 bucks charged to your business account! Think im lying? Test it yourself. Kyle, who im sure is a fine gentleman in person is a "success manager", was very professional and the only thing that kept me sane during this process. Its such a scam that im not even sure Kyle could know how dirty they do you. Not his fault, hes just doing his job. Nothing, the point is, DONT DO THIS UNLESS your business has a lot of funds in it or you are a multi million dollar cooperation. AND BTW ONCE SOMEONE CLICKS AND YOU HAVE NO GUARANTEED LEAD OR JOB, THEY STIILL CHARGE AND DO NOT REFUND THE MONEY NO MATTER WHAT! $31 for 3 clicks and not one call to my work phone! If yuor small and tarting out like me DONT USE THESE SCAM artists, they want the qucik sale to YOU, get you locked in hoping you dint realize what you just did, then your gut tells you to look at reviews on a site like this and you find out they are doing everyone DIRTY!
Answer: Good luck with that. You'll end up paying more for a lawyer than you'll ever save disputing the charges and they count on that. I got scammed hard by them. Just pay them off and chalk it up to a lesson learned. They always win. They lie to you. They lie to the debt collector and they're rich - so they can hold out longer than you can. Pay them off and walk away - poorer but wiser.
Answer: Block your credit card from this company and dispute any charges because you won't be able to contact anyone and request cancellation unless they call you. Even when they do call you and you cancel like I did, they will still keep charging you. They are a completely fraudulent company.
