Complete waste of time charged Me $560.00.
What was supposed to be a free account. Don't use yelp ads did not lead me to one customer.
I was charged hundreds of dollars for "clicks" on my account. As a CUSTOMER you can never see who those "clicks" came from.
In total I received actual calls from 2 "leads" that went nowhere. Total nuts.
I suspect that the Sales Associates are monitoring (clicking on) accounts for the commission. Who knows, since you aren't allowed to see that information.
Two months and over $500 in charges. Rip off.
Once they talk you into signing up, good luck getting out. I got an email saying that my account was closed and they are still billing me. Why deal with a company that could care less about you? Dammit! I should have done my due diligence. My fault. Do not make the same mistake.
I have had several valid customers leave positive reviews on my yelp page that yelp took down. They said they have no control over it that it's computer generated alga rhythms. But they allowed a scammer to post a bad review that has never been a customer. I hope they go out of business soon!
I have a commercial cleaning company. Upon setting up my account the gentleman stated he would be able to weed out getting residential leads and would only funnel those looking for commercial services. Well all the clicks were for residential and I asked for a refund bc the way the services were explained weren't what I received. They didn't deem my request valid and gave no valid reason as to what constitutes a reasonable explanation for a refund
Scott did a fantastic job with all the different jobs I asked him to take care of around my house. It included carpentry, painting, concrete paving etc. each job was completed to perfection in a decent period of time, with a fair price for the job and each area was cleaned up after the work completed you would never know he was there. He can do anything perfectly and I intend to, use him for everything in the future.
This company stole money from my account and even after I reported them and cancelled anything I had to do with them they still charged and kept charging me, I had to cancel my card and get a new one, on top of that I got no new customers from them and they only let bad reviews post and then you can't even defend your buisness! They are trash and a complete rip off! Do not give them any type of credit or debit card even for your free site cause they will charge over 490 dollars a month out of your account and leave you with no new clients! It's a scam
This is a terrible service for businesses. They want you to buy all these upgrades to make you business page look better than the next guy. Even charging you to put your own logo up LOL. Then they want to pick and choose which reviews left by your customers that they will actually show to other potential clients. They over promise and under deliver on their advertising platform. Spent $75 and it didn't generate one lead. I will spend my money elsewhere.
The Rep will call you and persuade you into getting a advertisement. She will put you on a extremely high budget but give u discounts, which don't matter to how much your paying monthly. They are fraud! Terrible company and have not attempted to refund me..
Just a fraud business and It will disappear in few years as it's not based on a win win but a win for yelp lose for customer, no customer services while you're paying what so ever, but bombardment of phone calls if you're not a paying client, save your money because their adds don't work!
Where do I start?
I paid $305 for ads in March and received zero referrals. When my bill arrived on April 1, i sent an email requesting a cancellation and I I called. The phone rep said that he couldn't give me a refund, but that April ads would be comped. I said ok.
On May 1, I was charged $226. I didn't notice the charge until May 14th. I called and spoke to a very nice, competent person named Jaye. Based on the case notes, she said I had a great case for a refund. I filled out the form and it was denied.
I called again. This time Ashley told me that I canceled on April 1, but called on April 3rd to reinstate. This is a LIE. Incidentally, all of my case notes were "missing". The calls were not recorded. They flat out lied to me.
I called AGAIN. I waited for 20 minutes, and, when I finally got through, the rep hung up.
Now my company doesn't come up when I search for landscapers. It's not even listed in the top 100.
Yelp should be ashamed of itself for these tactics. I have been lied to and black-balled.
I am working on obtaining refunds through my credit card company. I have the email I sent requesting cancellation. Smoking gun? I hope so.
DO NOT ADVERTISE ON YELP!
I tried to service out in the past for a few months and more recently for a few months and I find that a majority not all but a vast majority of the calls or request receive through the Yelp for business are people looking for pricing that falls in line with the unlicensed contractor or handyman type I don't find a disservice is beneficial to a licensed contractor possibly in the service industry for electrical plumbing so on and so forth HVAC but not for a contractor doing major renovations.
As most of all contractors know it is nearly impossible to compete with pricing from an unlicensed person that doesn't have Insurance liability Worker's Comp. Or licensure to pay for.
Bad customer service i ve been charged a monthly fee but havent signed up for anything. I spoke to Simon B
Yelp for Businesses is a total fraud and scam. Their reps are relentless in selling their marketing package. I have received over 300 emails and not ONE single job has come from any of them, not one! Most emails are fake accounts and come in after midnight (we do furniture repair/upholstery), who is thinking of that at that time? No one! I believe Yelp pays people to do that in order to string you into buying their packages. Also, reviews from our REAL customers, do not get published, I called them and they said they would fix it and have not. DON'T BE FOOLED!
When I was contacted by a YELP sales rep I was told that I had a $300 credit on my account. I thought YELP would be a good way to advertise my business. I was told several times during the initial call that I would only be charged 171.00, however, when the actual charge to my credit card happened, it was 471.00. The 300 credit was not taken off my bill like I was told it would. I contacted customer service, after being on hold for 1 hr or longer, I was told that they could see the credit on my account, but there was nothing they could do about it. I was told to complete a form to request the refund, which I did. That day I cancelled my account. About 2 weeks later I was told the credit was denied. However, they told me that if I wanted to advertise with YELP they would give me a 300 credit! This is a total scam. Do not advertise your business with YELP. In addition, during the month I had my account, I received only 2 leads, neither of those leads turned into clients.
After first having to go to a number of branches to find one open, after sitting in the snail pace traffic line as the drive through is all that is open. I aatempted to cash a check written to me from a TCF account holder. I was told I would have to first set up an account to cash check, when I pointed out the check was from a TCF account I was informed I had to set up a "check cashing" account and I would have to pay a $25 dollar fee to cash my check (FROM A TCF ACCOUNT HOLDER!). I then remembered why myself, and wife moved ALL accounts out of TCF, $25 to cash a check from their own client! Avoid these clowns!
The leads start out great, then slowly taper out to the point of getting bad leads or no leads. If you don't advertise with Yelp, they're more likely to "not recommend" your reviews when customers leave you positive reviews, but they have no problem leaving the fake bad reviews posted by competition. Yelp doesn't care about the truth, they just want you to pay for ads. Once you start paying for ads, yelp suddenly stops removing & filtering out your positive reviews, even if it's a fake positive review. As long as they have your credit card number, they don't care about your opinion, your company, nothing. Also, once you stop advertising, they'll be sure to put you on the last page of search results. Once you start, you're kind of stuck if you're dependent on any leads from Yelp at all.
During Covid19 time I received call from Yelp employee to sale me advertisement. This was in middle of the April 2020. I explain to him that I am not interested because my business is closed by government of WA State. He still insisted telling me, that he can help me to set up my business when I will be reopen again. He set me up for not disclosing any charges, telling me, that is free of $900 add. He lied, push for his goal. He is no longer with Yelp. They probably had to fire him from so many complains. Now, I am stuck with a bill for "not free" advertising. Such a misleading, not disclosing his goal, kind of like a snake. Now I try to resolve this problem with administration and they don't replay or answer my calls. Shame on them doing this to small business owners during the pandemic. I hope someday Yelp will be punished for this. Horrible experience. Never again. Elizabeth

This company is a scam. The leads you get are weak, they constantly take down your reviews and you can't do anything about it. They have an incompetent staff that hangs up on you. I am done with this company and will no longer work with them. Avoid using this company! They are completely negligent and set you up to fail.
Answer: Good luck with that. You'll end up paying more for a lawyer than you'll ever save disputing the charges and they count on that. I got scammed hard by them. Just pay them off and chalk it up to a lesson learned. They always win. They lie to you. They lie to the debt collector and they're rich - so they can hold out longer than you can. Pay them off and walk away - poorer but wiser.
Answer: Block your credit card from this company and dispute any charges because you won't be able to contact anyone and request cancellation unless they call you. Even when they do call you and you cancel like I did, they will still keep charging you. They are a completely fraudulent company.
