I got a gift card for my birthday for a year subscription. I went to the site to redeem the gift card and the site couldn't process the gift card. No error message or anything just didn't work. Then I tried to email support and get someone to call me. I scheduled a call for a certain time. They called me 2 hrs outside that time and then I missed it. You can't call them back only email them... what a dumb $#*!ING company. I don't even want to do it anynore. I'd like a refund for the gift card.
I receive this for Christmas was very excited but so far I've only gotten shampoo samples and a couple of make up remover wipes. Not even bottles of shampoo but the kind you get in magazines, booger glued to the page. Don't subscribe, it's HORRIBLE.
Ive been with them almost two years... all i get are small samples, like foil packages (one makeup whipe)counts as sample. Then i get 3 hair care products i ask to not get, and they dont care. It keeps getting worse and worse. Look at their facebook reviews, everyone saying the same thing about getting small samples they dont want, cant use etc... i emailed them to complain, if it dont help, i will cancel next month. They want to sell you stuff through their online store, which is fine, but they need to give us samples we want, will use so we can see if we like them or not to purchase the full products. Birchbox just dont care
You pay for a pretty box of free samples. You'd be better off walking through Macy's and collecting free samples and not have to pay for it. This is such a scam.
This company simply does not care about their customers even when their products are horrible and make you break out, they will not do anything for you and when you do contact their "customer service", they are condescending and all they say is "sorry" but it's your problem, not ours. Do not sign up, you will regret it and waste of your time and money.
This is a fun box to receive, with the exception of leaking products. I could smell it before I opened the box. The LOVE shampoo sample in the April, 2017, box was received with the top unscrewed and shampoo all over the inside of the box. Smelled great, but you should really up your game because this is not the first time this has happened to me.
My sister ordered me these boxes as a gift. My March box had white lotion spilled throughout the entire inside. I thought things happen. I immediately let Birchbox know. I received email from this person that my box will be replaced. Today, my April box came. MY MARCH REPLACEMENT BOX STILL HASNT COME! I will never order!
My sister bought a year long subscription for me as a birthday gift and I was super excited. The boxes that come every month are really good looking boxed but the stuff inside them is crap! None of the samples is even remotely useful or worth trying.
I wish they spent some money on the samples and less money on designing the boxes.
This company is terrible, awful, horrible. They have no problem charging me for a years worth of boxes but I tried ordering other items and they double charged me once after saying the order didn't go through because my billing address didn't match, I fixed the issue and STILL there was an issue with trying to order another product. Apparently they don't want my business bad enough. Especially since they have no live customer service reps. Get real. It is a website for customer service and it took them 36 hours to get back to me. Buy a clue Birchbox.
You fill out a profile and are supposed to get items based on that. I have straight hair and three of five items were for curly hair. The others were a small mask and a lipstain that faded in 30 minutes. Good concept; poor execution. I cancelled after first box. I will note the invoice in my box had someone else's name and address so they could have mixed up boxes but this also bothers me as now someone else has my information.
Horrible products. I received 2 teabags, 2 suncreams and a horrid lip/cheek stain stick in the brightest red you can imagine for $10!
You are better off going to Target and buying $10 of samples - they would be bigger and more of what you want.
Most of the samples are so small they are only one use. The ads do not reflect the size and quality of the items in the box. Don't waste your money.
Unfortunately I have to give Birchbox a thumbs down! I gave a 3 month gift for Christmas to my roommate. She didn't receive the first box so it was resent. When it arrived it was just 4 little items rolling around in the box. I contacted customer service and they seem to help me as much as they could. I was promised a replacement box for the "unsatisfactory" December box. It never came. I believe my roommate got her 2nd and 3rd boxes eventually but overall a horrible gift giving experience!
I'm a member of Ipsy and Scentbird as well as Birchbox and I just don't think they compare. Yes the SAMPLEs they send are usually pretty good but its exactly that, a FREE SAMPLE. With their competitors you at least get 1 FULL PRODUCT item making the value well worth it. I didn't want to leave a review after the first shipment because I wanted to be fair but the 2nd one proved to be the same stuff. If I'm still not impressed with my 3rd shipment I'll be canceling the subscription. The said "pretty box" is just clutter abs used in my fire so again, not worth it to me. I truly suggest doing research on read they reviews people who know ipsy know value and won't be satisfied with this.
I would give them no stars if I could. The other issue, I forgot to tell consumers and you will never get live person on the phone. It all computerized and just chatting. The company is rip off. Thank you, for telling me about other companies that are similar to Birchbox. I remember in the good old days. I order a beautiful makeup and it was good makeup and regular sizes all for Ten dollars. The good old days. Sad, now they give you bunch of crap and I would not put on a dog. They think by giving you a little organic samples that ok. Please, as the saying goes you get what you pay for.
They said the box would be customized, but it was not customized at all! Everyone gets the same pile of crap. I want to send it all back with a note that says "keep it!"
You get good quality high end products that never dissapoint. You get points for any purchase through their website, and you get points for reviewing the products you get on a monthly basis. I've also been able to get new favorite products that I have bought full size options for daily use, and sometimes I've save the products for travel size skin care options. I've visited their NYC location, and I was able to get a manicure, a free box with five samples, and one of their ladies helped me find a BB Cream that that complimented my skin tone, and for which I get compliments for all the time
Received as a gift 12 months of Birchbox. Pretty sad when the box the samples arrive in is more exciting and useful than the samples I've received. Then too, every time I attempt to order something it's either a) not in the color I want or b) out of stock. Don't waste your money or your time on this rip off.
They lost the first box in the mail. Second box was full of useless samples I can't even give away... Sephora gives away free samples bigger than what Birchbox sent. Totally rip-off, I want my money back!
The definition of Deluxe: "sumptuous, luxurious, of a superior kind". Birchbox needs to read that definition! The samples I received almost need a magnifying glass to see them. I started the subscription a month ago and they were wonderful to get my first one to me very quickly. My second one came in less than a month-another surprise.
The other surprise in both boxes is that only one sample might be considered "Deluxe"-and that would be a stretch.
I waited until the second box to cancel as I wanted to give them another chance due to the great reviews on other sites.
I had paid for a yearly subscription up front. I should have read the terms and conditions! With a yearly subscription you MUST cancel within a month of ordering or no refund!
It was next to impossible to find out how to unsubscribe-a running theme with Beauty Boxes. If you Google it they give you instructions that sound easy-and they are impossible to complete. I finally got someone from Birchbox on chat and in the end I had to text that I would dispute the charge with my Amex on the grounds that they misrepresent their products. And Viola! It's cancelled.
So far, ipsy and Birchbox are tried and not true-ipsy just puts you on a "wait list" forever so you are paying for product you never get.
The last two yet to be tried are yet to come-and I'm now dreading it.
I have been using Birchbox for a few months now and I must say it is absolutely fabulous! I am a product junkie so I love getting my box every month to try products before I buy them. I also loved that you receive points when you buy from Birchbox which eventually results in money off products. If there has ever been a minor error with my order the customer service team have always resolved it extremely fast and efficiently. I would definitely recommend Birchbox and have got a lot of my friends hooked already!
Answer: I've bought a few. I've liked several more enough to buy a full size item but haven't gotten around to it yet because I have enough of a similar product on hand for now.
Answer: The issue I've had with them is that their customer service contact information was difficult to locate, so I get it. I had to contact them over Twitter to get it. The email form on the website doesn't do you much good. Try sending an email to [email protected] for a better response. If all else fails, and you can't seem to get them to stop charging you, contact your credit card company, and let them handle it for you.
Answer: I work at a credit union. What I would recommend in this instance is canceling the card and then disputing unwanted charges. There is no way for the institution to cancel the subscription for you. However, as I said, we can issue you a new card number and help you dispute the charges that you did not authorize.
Answer: You get one point per dollar when shopping in the Birchbox shop. Additionally, reviewing the items you received in your Birchbox earns 10 points per review, and sharing your box on social media also yields you 10 points.
