WHAT EVER YOU LADIES DO, DO NOT SUBSCRIBE TO BIRCHBOX! They rob your money! They don't give you any option to "cancel" they secretly make you pay "monthly" but really your LOCKED in for a YEAR PAYING THAT PRICE MONTHLY! No matter if something happens in your life that doesn't allow you to still get a box, they don't care! They will continue to rob your money from medical bills, food from your child's mouth and leave you stranded on the streets! I have stage four breast cancer and they are telling me that I can't be "unlocked" from their subscription I have to pay for another 8months to which WHO KNOWS IF ILL EVEN BE HERE
Im going through the same thing right now as everyone else on here. Stuck in a 12 month subscription for such horrible samples and an added bonus..horrible customer service. If you are thinking of a new makeup subscription, ipsy, boxycharm, and even glossybox are all so much better than this. Atleast there you get your moneys worth. And they actually care about your customers. I dont understand why this subscription company is out to make customers dissatisfied. On my second month a customer representative told me oh by the way, we dont give points for reviews anymore. They are the only company that doesnt. I even received matrix samples in my box. The same ones from dollar tree before. I told them I lost my job and I have no income at the moment and any money that comes in, I need for my children..can I please end my contract. I was basically told too bad, I am stuck. Our subscription money is pretty much a donation to their company every month because what we receive in our boxes are 5 dollars worth of items. I am very unsatisfied with Everything about Birchbox. I cannot wait til my contract ends.
Tiny department store samples, not worth the money. Now I'm in a 12 month agreement they won't let me out of, and I am completely dissatisfied with my first box.
Birchbox overcharged me for my monthly subscription and charged me additional shipping, causing an overdraft at my bank. While they were "terribly sorry" Birchbox took absolutely no responsibility for their error. I had to cancel my subscription in order to get a refund for the product overcharge and additional shipping charge (which they refunded) and the bank fee (which they did not.) Birchbox expects it's customers to eat the financial repercussions of It's staff errors. Just another greedy company out to a screw It's subscribers out of every last dollar. Sad.
So I ordered a birchbox sample subscription box A week past and I realize that I hadn't received any email about it. So I went to the website and it said it took 10 days to ship so I waited 10 days then I realized I didn't want to go through dealing with this every month so I canceled my subscription. I was under the impression I would get a refund however none came. I did receive an email that said my box was on the way it was two weeks and I got nothing. I contacted customer service and a woman told me it took five days in between the USPS scanning the package for it to update she said she would send me a full-size product to compensate. However when it came it was a tiny lip gloss and a one small eyeshadow color. I again contacted customer service and she said The box was lost. I asked her why didn't anyone contact me her excuse was they don't have any way of tracking a shipment once's it left there facility. I thought that was extremely unprofessional you should do better it's 2019 that is not an excuse for any company asking for money for a service whether it be they send you something or doing something. They should keep track of their packages. So she claims I can get a refund it took almost a week for that to come then I contact the post office about the missing package they said they never received anything from that company under my name or with the tracking number. I felt as if they were going to keep my money because I canceled my subscription and hope that I either forgot about it or I would never figured it out. They are cheaters they are scammers and I would not trust this company. Birchbox knows that they charge an unnecessary price for a tiny samples. I don't know if they're losing business or subscriptions that is not my business but what I do know is that they tried to keep my money which is technically a crime no matter how you justify they should've told me that they never sent the package in the first place. And they sent all that fake information about shipping and the US Postal Service who has no reason to lie said plain as day they never received a package from that place addressed to me or with a tracking number. So when they told me that the whole scam fell apart and I knew that those people try to cheat me. I would not recommend this bogus company to anyone there are hundreds of different companies out there that provide beauty boxes. I suggest you try those I beseech you to never ever subscribe to Birchbox.
Birchbox was great five years ago. It is horrible now. The samples are very small and do not align well with personal profiles. Customer service is practically invisible. I canceled my subscription over a month ago, deleted my payment method two weeks ago, and this morning I receive an email from Birchbox telling me my box is on the way; they provided a tracking number. I am so angry right now. If they take money out of my account, so help me, I will escalate this legally. They think they can pull this bullsh** with customers, they are dead wrong. I come from a family of lawyers, so they need to be very careful. Disgusting the way these people do business.
I have been a customer with Birchbox for a few years and I really didn't have any issues until recently. A while back I had asked them to stop the automatic charge on my debit card and they agreed. Last year I ordered a 6 month package instead of the 1 year and when 6 months was up they charged my card. I was not expecting the charge because of the previous agreement and it overdrew my checking account and cost me a fee. I messaged with a rep and she told me she did see where they agreed to not charge my account, but since I switched to a 6 month package, they charged my account. I got a lot of "apologies", but that was it. They did not care one bit. There was absolutely no effort on their part to rectify the situation. Absolutely horrible customer service. I will be going with another company.
I am incredibly angry and disappointed in Birchbox. The products are great, and the concept is great. I committed to a 6 month subscription. At month 7, I asked to cancel my subscription and you CAN NOT DO IT ONLINE. I FINALLY got ahold of a customer representative, and she PROMISED that all future payments and subscriptions were canceled. One month later, I am billed AGAIN. Again, I am unable to reach ANYONE via customer service. Horrible service, and they keep taking my money. Also, when you submit your credit/debit card in their system, it will NOT let you remove it; even after your committed subscriptions, so I am stuck paying for this subscription and can't take my payment method off file. NOT HAPPY. Still waiting for customer service to respond.
Samples are not great; many are cheap drugstore quality. I usually end up giving most away. I signed up for a six month membership but won't renew after this. Their shipping also takes FOREVER. My box shipped on the 7th of this month and it's the 16th and still nothing. It's just NYC to Chicago... no idea what the issue is. Try the Allure Beauty Box. Everything about it is way better.
This company is shady and disorganized. Some samples are good and some are cheap, and I'm usually bored with what they send me. I also do Ipsy and Sephora play, Sephora being the best of the 3.
Why I will never subscribe to Birchbox again:
-it took 4 months and 3 emails to finally get a refund on some makeup I returned via mail! I think they were hoping I'd forget and they'd get to keep my money.
-they falsely advertised what colors come in their LOC liquid eyeshadows, replacing the purple with the most pale color (I bought it because I wanted to try the purple). Very disappointing.
-they do not have a phone number to call, and emailing them takes a long time to hear a response.
-their promotions (get a whole year for $x) wasn't actually made available for several month after their email. I contacted them to ask and never heard back.
-apparently my loyalty points expired earlier than their email said they would, but hey you can't contact them right away so I guess you just don't get them.
-I tried to delete my credit card and it's not straight forward... they make you enter a new one before deleting the old. I don't want them to renew another year of subscriptions so now I have to hope somebody actually contacts me. What a headache and joke this company is.
-this company needs to get itself together. If they fixed those dishonest things, it would be a better experience.
I was able to get my box for $8 a long basically and I'm so happy with it. I've been sent stuff that I would use and love the quality. I've found some stuff I would buy full sizes of, which is hard to do when your a mom and dont have time and money to waste on trying products you dont know you'll like. Some people complain about the sizes and samples but what do you expect for under ten bucks?! You get what you pay for. The only reason I give it 4 stars is because I would love if they gave you at least 2 days to customize your box because I tend to miss the 24 hour time period.
If you buy the annual subscription when they have a sale then it's not too bad. A lot of samples are repeats. That was even within a 12 month period.
I had several boxes missing samples, but the worst experience was when I tried to buy full size items during a sale. The price in the cart adjusted up ~+$20 at checkout (?!).
I contacted them within minutes and said don't ship, I've been charged completely different prices to those that showed in my cart at checkout. They insisted I needed to wait until delivery and then return. Delivery took ~2 weeks.
THEN - guess how long it took for them to refund me for their prepaid shipping from NC to NY? (oh yeah - I had to request the return shipping label THREE times)... anyone who had 8 weeks is a winner. So in total ~ 3 months to issue a refund. For an order that was confirmed as cancelled within the hour.
Yeah. No.
I've been an on and off customer for awhile and I always enjoy my boxes. I've never really been disappointed and I have discovered great products I would otherwise never have tried. One of the first beauty subscription boxes and I feel, one of the best. I only had one issue in which an eyeshadow was damaged during delivery and they immediately sent me a new one.
Signed up as a new customer for November. I was informed boxes shipped before the 10th of every month. After the 10th, my account still said "processing." An email to customer service promoted them to tell me "we ship by the 10th business day, not the 10th of the month... If you don't get an update by the 12th email us again." As of the 12th I had not received an update, though it was a holiday. As of the 13th I emailed and said my subscription still hasn't shipped. Customer service said it shipped out yesterday. Fast forward over a week later, I still don't have my box and the tracking number hasn't updated from shipped on the 12th. I emailed customer service and said cancel my subscription, this service is terrible. Rep totally ignored me and just said box is on its way. I emailed again a few days later and said this is really pissing me off, I want the remainder of my subscription refunded, I'm not paying for any more boxes. It's now 11/21 and I still don't have a box, tracking hasn't updated. Rep emailed me back and said she canceled and refunded my card. But where's my box?! I'm going back to Ipsy; they're customer service was way better!
After a few months of service with this online sample product company, I must say they listened to me with the products I am interested in. They got it right!
Ipsy is so much better than this for the money. This boxes are cute but water ruins them, unlike the awesome reusable Ipsy bags each month. The products are better to buy smaller sizes than to signup for their sample program.
I deleted my account with ipsy after months of getting such disappointing small samples and i signed up for more..they never send me any. Birchbox is completely full sized samples of makeup and skin care its awesome
This site is a sample site it's just 10.00 a month it lets you sample fragrance makeup hair products and if you like the product you can buy it the regular size on its website it name brand productsi love it
So I had Birchbix before and I liked the samples ( they are tiny and a lot of times repeats). I cancelled when I moved and reinstated when I got settled in. They billed me on the first of June, it is the 26th and I got a message from birchbox saying " There is no way to send me that June box." Their solution was to comp the July box. My problem is that for the first time I wanted everything in that birchbox, but it disappeared and they refuse to replace it. I'm not happy and I did not like how the customer service rep responded. I want my box, not a comp. I waited all month to be jerked around.
Great! I was very happy with the products I received. They were tailored to my tastes and had a big enough amount where I could actually use them for a while. My shipments came on time, and the prices are very reasonable
Answer: I've bought a few. I've liked several more enough to buy a full size item but haven't gotten around to it yet because I have enough of a similar product on hand for now.
Answer: The issue I've had with them is that their customer service contact information was difficult to locate, so I get it. I had to contact them over Twitter to get it. The email form on the website doesn't do you much good. Try sending an email to [email protected] for a better response. If all else fails, and you can't seem to get them to stop charging you, contact your credit card company, and let them handle it for you.
Answer: I work at a credit union. What I would recommend in this instance is canceling the card and then disputing unwanted charges. There is no way for the institution to cancel the subscription for you. However, as I said, we can issue you a new card number and help you dispute the charges that you did not authorize.
Answer: You get one point per dollar when shopping in the Birchbox shop. Additionally, reviewing the items you received in your Birchbox earns 10 points per review, and sharing your box on social media also yields you 10 points.
