I am a Newby and Kirk R. At B&H was gracious and willing to hand hold and answer my very basic questions.
I've bought a fair amount of equipment through B&H photo to support a new video and photographic hobby. The staff has been knowledgeable and patient with beginners and I have never once been talked down to. Ordering through the website has been incredibly easy. The only instance of a delay in processing had to do when I gave up on an item that had been back-ordered for 6 weeks, that had been paid for using pay-pal, and while explained immediately, they couldn't be as flexible in re-allocating those funds to pay for new purchases, compared to had it been paid directly with a credit card instead. But that was because of PayPal's rules, not B&H's. I mention B&H photo to all my friends when they are considering major purchases.
B & H now offers a special credit card Payboo that saves the sales tax now required to California. Large selection and great information on website.

B&H's physical website is expansive, which I can see people getting a little intimidated by. This is a professional website that combines a lot of different disciplines into a single site, but going from audio equipment to photography and video equipment, to a TV and home theatre system, I have never had any sort of hiccups or problems with B&H. Their phone service is great (How I ended up ordering my TV), their returns and used buying options are simple to submit and easy to receive my funds. There seems to be a lot of bad reviews, but I've been shopping exclusively at B&H for five years and I have never had any trouble or never been less than 100% satisfied, for what its worth!
The website is easy to navigate. The products and service are wonderful. My favorite photo house to work with.
When in cart having trouble to go back and add another item. I had to restart the order since some items where not in the first cart. I found it a little confusing and not friendly.

I found B&H several years ago when Newegg was out of an item I wanted. Talk about a cloud having a silver lining! B&H proved to be simply the best source on the web for my camera and electronics needs. Prices are competitive, packaging is secure, shipping is prompt and, best of all, customer service has proved to be first rate the very few times I had issues with a product. Also, if you need HilVision IP cameras, B&H was the first (and only) approved online retailer in the United States. Now, if they would only stock G. SKILL memory...
Seems I order from B&H about 2 - 3 times per month. Online ordering is a breeze and they stand behind what they sell!

Answer: ANy refurbished item we sell has been refurbished by the manufacturer or official US distributor, Nikon USA or Canon USA etc. Other used items are each rated on a numeric scale and we tend to be conservative so customers are not disappointed.
