If I could put ZERO STARS I would! It takes months and months to get cashback, and now i have over 5 purchases I had to inquire where my cash back is, then it takes another several months to get the "investigation" completed to get your cashback. And majority of the time they'll say your purchase didnt qualify and you WONT get your cashback! They lure you in with what looks like the best cash back rates, but it is a scam. You wont ever see the money. SUCH A WASTE OF TIME. Save yourself the time and headache and use Ebates or Ibotta. You will waste so much time trying to follow up with every single purchase you make with BeFrugal and 8/10 you wont ever get your cash back. HORRIBLE AWFUL COMPANY!

BEWARE! They were great at first and have the best cash back rates around. Then the trouble begins when you try to get paid. I had $150 in cash back available and my husband had $50 in his account. I had not requested payment, but had just looked at my account and saw it was available. When my husband requested payment they said he violated terms and would not pay it out. Then when I went online to request my payment they deactivated my account. When I contacted them via chat they said I violated terms and they would not tell me what terms and then ignored my subsequent questions. Suddenly when payment is requested terms and conditions have been violated. If you look at BBB other people have had the same issue. When it's time to pay they find reasons not to pay. I use several cash back sites; I just use whichever has the better rate. I think I'll just stick to Ebates and CouponCabin. I hate that I recommended this site to people. BeFrugal has awful customer service and very suspect practices.

For normal purchases, it's very good. For travel, it plays tricks.

The BeFrugal web site says that there is an exception for Travel Cash Back. The exception says to contact BeFrugal if it has taken more than 60 days. I did just that because my hotel stay did not show the cash back, and was told that since it was more than 60 days, it was too late. This is the language on the site:

"All Missing Cash Back Inquiries must be made within 60 days of the purchase date. We are unable to start an investigation with a retailer once 60 days have passed from the order date. Please note that Travel Cash Back can be an exception to this rule. Read more about Travel Cash Back."

When you click the link to read more, it says:

"Within 60 days after the trip was completed, either the original travel record will get updated with the Cash Back amount or a second record will appear in your account reflecting the Cash Back amount. If more than 60 days has passed since the completion of your travel and you do not see a Cash Back credit in your account, please submit a Cash Back Inquiry."

I did just that and they said nothing can be done since more than 60 days. Completely misleading.

I have used Befrugal for years now and have earned thousands of dollars just to shop online. It takes a while to get your money verified simply because they have to verify with the merchants that you did not return your items which can take up to 90 days but who cares how long you wait for free money. You know it's coming so just forget about it, let it pile up in your account then request payment to any form a payment, your bank account, paypal, amazon, etc. and either save the funds or continue to shop. LOVE BEFRUGAL!
