Longtime PAID member of Bear411. I recently edited my profile to include my Growlr name.
My profile was "approved" but 2 days later it was deleted (and I had just renewed my 6 month membership). I contacted the webmaster - no reply. I e-mailed the webmaster - no reply. I asked around and was told that if the webmaster doesn't like your profile or pic - he deletes them. There is also a specific rule that main profile pictures MUST show full face - no sunglasses etc, however this rule is not always followed.

I signed-up again…same handle name - which surprisingly was available. All my notes and pals were gone - but my profile pic popped up. Weird.
Now when I click on PAL LIST - I get a list of guys that have looked at my profile, but when I click on their pic - it says that this is reserved for paid members only - not even their profile name pops up? Thus is NEW.

Website owner should be shut down. This is not business-friendly anymore. Too many people are leaving Bear411 and going to Growlr - no wonder.

To get your profile deleted, I did the following. I went to Profile change, deleted all my details and my pictures and uploaded a picture of a nun trying to get computer courses. Also I did add an animation file as a picture and my profile.

This site is old and useless. Worst thing about this site is that you can't control your own profile as everything has to be "approved" first by a single moderator. Deleting my profile took months and months of attempts to contact the webmaster (Never even got a reply) and I finally resorted to changing my bio to trashing the webmaster I recommend this tactic. Also add some trigger words like BearWWW and Growlr.

Stay Away! There's far better options available out there.

First of all, the design of Bear411 is old and really needs some re-design.

I used to be a member of Bear411 a while ago bit I found that other dating sites really overtook (sites like Gay-Boyfriend.com and GR offer a much better value). And additionally, closing an account can be a real pain. The site is not very customer friendly.

However, I still believe that a 1star rating is not fair because the site is better than that for sure! Meanhwile I am still much more happy on other sites and as long as they don't redesign and improve their customer support, I will most likely not come back too soon.

I am sadden to say that Bear411 is not user friendly. They get you to join as a free membership then after awhile they block you out forcing you to join as a paying member and from what I have been learning from others once you join it nearly impossible to delete your profile. I was locked out about a month ago and I have six messages that I can't respond to. The WebMaster Greg could at least let me retrieve those messages or at least let me delete my profile from the web site. I have learned that others have this similar problem. I think that they get people to join to trap them into being paid members and futher more steal our personal pictures and information. I guess the web master loves playing God. All I am asking it the ablity to remove my profile from the web site. If they are going to make it that hard I for one will never return to Bear411 either as a free or paying member. I am sadden because I met some very nice guys on the site it was a sense of community like mined guys like myself. However if a site has to be less and less user friendly then I want no part of it. I might add too that if you try and contact Greg Buddy Bear your complaints or email get send back and non deliverable.

It's getting more difficult to delete your profile with bear411. As he is catching on. He needs the numbers to impress advertisers. What I did that finally worked was download a comic face. Which was accepted. Then a while later a dog or cat head. It was then deleted. He uses only a face recogniser system. Which only sees a face. Then it's passed. Whether of a cartoon man or a fluffy kitten. This should work for a while unless he starts checking the pictures himself.
