Sent a damaged vinyl LP. Attempt to return for replace/refund is a total disaster. Extremely poor or no communication, less than helpful personnel, unclear/incomplete directions. Just pray they get your order right.
I have bought hundreds of books and use to love your store, nowbefore I walk in, two giant posters are on front windows of Obama? He gave us a terrible recession, my health deductible went from 2500$ to 6500$! As a long haul truck driver, I went to so many large businesses, that closed to go out of the us, look at revlon. All the women I visited, as they loaded my trailer lost their jobs to nafta, only one book about Trump was near front, unflattering, what's going on, looking for another book store, so sad.
Terrible, terrible service. I bought a nook years ago and it died. Not unexpected... it did last longer than I thought. However, over the years I obtained over 500 books. The site is saying I bought 32. Really?! Customer service is rude and unhelpful. They will NOT advance a call to a supervisor upon request. If you need to update anything (like an email address) you have to reset the nook back to original settings (and lose everything you've bought because it's not in their library). THOUSANDS OF DOLLARS LOST! AVOID AT ALL COSTS.
Customer service rep order a book for me and told be there in 2-3 days but book never arrived, just waste my time. The sale price was high also compare to other store. And store manager do not care when talk to them.
I saw this particular book on Facebook, and certainly don't have to even open it up to see it purposely resembles so many political cartoons of our president, Donald Trump. I believe it is in poor taste; above what I expect from Barnes and Noble. ( I give it 1 star only because there is not an option for a ZERO.)
Ordered $5 item and charged $15 shipping. Deal killer. Site is designed to prevent cancellation of mistaken orders. Very much below my standards for e-shopping.
I repeatedly tried to purchase an item through Barnes and Noble website but, each time I got to the checkout, it cleared the cart before I could make the purchase and it would force me to sign in repeatedly.
I closed out and tried again and again... until out of frustration, I gave up and called the local B/N, to see if I could buy it over the phone. The woman there tried to help but cautioned me that the item would cost more this way as they could not match their own online price... bad.
So I then called the toll free number and after waiting for over 15 min. The person there was able to complete the transaction.
I did ask to speak to a supervisor about the experience on the site but he put me on hold for over 10 mi. Before coming back to give me the bad news that I would have to wait an additional 30 minutes before speaking with a supervisor. Are there that many complaints that a supervisor can't be found for that long? Really.
I am on hold as I write this... now more than 40min... and am very unhappy with the way B/N treats their customers.
I want to hang in there to at least give them my feedback but it is now nearly an hour on hold so I'm giving up.
As soon as I spend the last of this gift card I will be done shopping at B/N for good.
Barnes & Noble has every book that would make a reader out of yourself. With their membership benefits I enjoy free shipping on the books I buy plus discounts. I can even rent textbooks for my college courses.
I used to love this store. Now, from my location, I have to shop online. The site is terrible! The images do not always match the product description and customer service does not care to see it fixed. If the price is too good to be true, it probably isn't in stock and they will notify you after ordering it. Customer service over the phone is awful. Do not trust product pictures! Read the descriptions well! You might not get what you should and they will not honor a lower price if they get it wrong.
I wish I had more time to sit in Barnes and Noble and study. I used to a lot in undergrad. The atmosphere is great, they have all the books you need. The online to store ordering experience is also great.
They have the great deal in the country. The ebooks i purchase was awesome. This is not just an ordinary online store.
Because there is a store near me, I stop in quite often to check their sales. I have a membership card which earns discounts on purchases. While this is technically a book store, they also sell a variety of other products. I have purchased stationery, pens, calendars, candles and other items. Good quality. A bit pricey; wait for the sales and use the member discounts.
Besides mom and pop specialty bookstores, Barnes and Noble are the best thing going when you need a book immediately. Although pricier compared to Amazon, the B&N membership softens that blow, along with having a good stock of books on hand. The children section in my store is far from the beaten path, and they have a nice section where they can read and play while the adult shoppers are never hassled. There's also scheduled reading events for children and more so during the holidays. Most B&N stores have Starbucks inside, who also honour the membership discount. The workers at mine are also friendly, so 5 stars
Still the best bookstore in metro Phoenix! The staff is knowledgeable and helpful. They go out of their way to make sure you find everything you are looking for and that is an asset in today's retail climate.
I love being able to go in and actually sit down to peruse a book before buying it. This lets me know if I truly want to add it to my collection, which I usually do. The prices are a little high, though, so I don't go too often.
Actually liked the store, it was advised by my brother. Reasonable values on the books, wide range to choose from and quite fast shipping. Think I`ll return for more.
On line or in store, the service is always excellent. Special orders always arrive by promised date.
I placed an order for TWO books November 25,2016 due to one of their come on coupon emails. Got an email that the books were shipped November 26,2016. Waiting and WAITING, I went to the post off with the tracking information (still reading at the PO November 29,2016) in DECEMBER! I was told UPS was using a third party to deliver merchandise. I CALLED UPS. They told me to take this concern to the POST OFFICE. I called Barnes and Noble EXTREMELY irate (yes, maybe I was yelling! Wouldn't you?). Besides telling me to have a professional attitude, customer service would NOT help me! The resolution there was a CREDIT! I hope! Never checked. I STILL WANT MY DAMN BOOKS! Now, not only do I have to reorder some where else (like Amazon who do deliver timely!), but have the cash. I had this same problem with Shutterfly (non delivery of an order). Not only were they courteous, but they made sure another order was made (gratis) and SHIPPED and DELIVERED timely! I WILL NEVER EVER ORDER ONLINE FROM BARNES AND NOBLE AGAIN! I'll just drive the twenty miles one way to the store. They suck and don't give a $#*! (no wonder brick and mortal book stores are becoming dinosaurs!). Want books? Order from Amazon!
Great place to shop at for books, not as good as shopping from the Chapters book store, but still good none-the-less. Decent prices.
I ordered 2 books from the Barnes and Noble book store in New York on Thursday, and both books arrived at my house in Tennessee on Monday. Very pleased with their service.
