COMPANIES BEWARE - READ THIS REVIEW

I received an email from Bark offering me a free trial.
I accepted this.
I did not know they had my credit card details stored (this was from a previous transaction)
They did NOT inform me that I was now signed up to an on going service. Yes I agree, rather underhand tactics.
It was only by chance that I saw charges on my credit card. I then realised I had been the culprit of their Click Bait - something which is highly underhand. They hadn't sent me any invoices, receipts etc and when I checked the portal there was no mention of subscriptions and equally importantly, the ability to cancel them.

I was getting nowhere with the staff (and they do not have an escalation procedure - to escalate you have to write to their legal team in London - we are based in Australia). I think the fact that you can't even email the escalation team and in fact have to write speaks volumes.

I was very clear in my emails to the team - I stated that unless they escalated my valid complaint to a manager I would post honest reviews about their service to want other companies from falling into the trap I fell into (ie, clickbait).

The response again was to write to their offices in London (not email, a proper letter).

I therefore contacted a Director via LinkedIn thinking that he would care about how his staff were behaving and of course not wishing to believe that these dodgy dealings were systemic.

I then received the email below terminating my account as I had made multiple complaints against them. I will let you judge for yourselves if this is the type of company you think it's wise to work with.

When signing up for our Elite Pro subscription, it is clearly stipulated that the first month is for free, and that future months come at a cost.

We do not have your account details here to comment on your direct issues, however common practice when requesting Elite Pro cancellation is that our Customer Success Team furnish you with a cancellation form so that his can be actioned. If you wish to email management, you can do so by emailing [email protected] and putting FAO Management in the subject line.

We can see from your screenshot that our manager Taegan did speak with you. We do not tolerate abuse of our staff, nor continued bad work delivered to customers, which may be why this action was taken.

We are a UK company and have a UK legal team which is why you have been provided with this address should you need it.

This a sham

This companies leads are BOGUS! Don't waste your time or money. They reply with robotic responses when you need help. They don't take users suggestions into consideration. Forget about attempting to make a profit here the leads want to pay $10/ hour for $4 hours of work that's normally charged at minimum rate of $250. Support system is trash alongside their leads. BEWARE DONT WASTE YOUR MONEY

Contractors beware

They ripped me off, show me a bunch of leads that were not verified or not any good, then when I called them to explain the situation they try to talk over me and tell me about their guarantee, stay away from bark they are ripping contractors off, they're not trying to grow your business they're trying to rob your business J&D handyman service Newnan Georgia

Poor leads

After trying bark for the first time, it looked really promising and lots of leads. The first 4/5 the customers didn't really have any idea about how much things cost ie one budget was £8k for a 2 storey extension! Other leads after purchase were im sort of looking but not really, last 4 out of 5 leads got no answer or reply and when contacted customer service about this and queried the verification process I was told that it the number rings, and only rings NOT answered, then that number has been verified and no chance of a refund! Little bit frustrating and a waste of time really for me anyway!

Bark linked me up with James Carroll, JNC Property Solutions. A terrible experience. I notice that they have subsequently removed him from their site which was a positive action. They take no responsibility for the incompetence of the workmen on their site so be more careful than I was. They could not supply me with his trading address.

Crredit refund

Still in choc when recalling back what I heard from their customer supports. Simple "RUDE" is the word. I can hear again "whatever you are trying to explain to us, your money won't be refunded"
I clicked accidently on the link "buy 100 credits" so automatically the money been taken from my account without any normal steps of payment process such as 3-digit bank number. Simply because they had already my details for another subscription, they could apply it for anytime you click on any payment link. This is wrong!
Still looking to figure out how to pursuit this action. Any advises, please help!

Bark is a waste of money. The market is full of people who are only after a cheap deal without understanding the process and work that goes behind the jobs. There are many people that will gladly take their little money and not provide a proper service. Most the leads from Bark are fake. I would not recommend bark to anyone looking to improve their business unless they offer subordinate services at cheap prices

Bark is a scam!

Bark is a scam! I purchased their product mostly as they guaranteed a refund, if no customer purchased or was ‘hired'. But at the end of the period (with no customers) they refused to give the refund. Then said oh no we only give you back credits in our system to try more leads.

They give nothing ‘BACK' to the customer.
Their advertising is total misleading and unethical (see photo).
The leads they send you are fake and are not real customers.
Do not waste your money like I did.
The company is a total scam.

Never signed up to this company just started getting leads emailed to me.

Being in weddings and events I get leads for events in a weeks time for 200 people, this is highly unlikely in this industry and anyone that needed anything that late notice would be calling around frantically.

Today I got a lead for an "event" that happened two days ago.

The leads do not match the industry in my area.

I think this website is a scam!

I had an Elite pro account to see offer a service. After a couple of month I realise that Elite pro was not what I needed and I asked to cancel my account.
I then got offered a free month, and as I did accept it I also ask that as soon as that month was finished my Elite Pro account had to be deleted.
What's next? They charge me again as if i never ask to cancel my account. And now they are telling me that they can not refund me the money.

Also, they would send you "match" notification, telling you that someone is interested in your service. I then use my credits (and you pay for them) to contact this potential customers, and the result is that what they were looking for doesn't match at all what you are offering.

Don't waste your time.
This people just wants your money!

Clever scam
March 6, 2021

The way to really scam people and keep that scam going is to provide lip service to complaints and "appear" to want to resolve complaints.
You can go for a LONG time by simply saying "oh, have you tried this?"
The TRUTH is Bark.com is a scam of mammoth proportions.
The supply of quality leads is limited, the demand of businesses for new leads is infinite... the two don't match.
They make great promises of a "free" set of credits if you don't get any business from your initial purpose... they KNOW you won't, nor will you from the "free" replacement lot, then you're done. You'll get a curt message saying, "Buy some more"... and I'm betting naive people probably give it a second shot and fail again.
The leads that they send you are "full" (5 others have already submitted a response) immediately you receive the email... possibly they are not genuine at all, because the leads that are not "full" are weak or unsuitable and don't match the filter you apply anyway.
When you complain you get trite, patronizing "advice" with an overriding insinuation it's your fault for not presenting a good enough "pitch"... HOGWASH! I've won open national tenders, and have 40+years of sales and sales management epxericn3...
But it is cleverly done so that bark.com "appears" "above-the-board".
Whatever you do, DO NOT FALL for the BARK OFFER... it is a waste of money, definitely, but also a significant waste of time
