The clothes are OK though. I do agree with another reviewer that it's cute stuff for young hipster types. Not so much for an oldie like me!

I went to banana republic a few months back at upper Canada mall and I will never go back again. When I entered the store no one said hi to me, which is fine. But then when looking at clothes I heard a female worker say hi to another woman entering the store. Then when a man walks in she says hi and tells him about the offers. Then when I turn around to go to another section, the same female worker looks at me and turns away quickly. That just leaves a bad taste in my mouth. No hi, no welcome, not even a smile. Your workers need to be trained on fair customer service.
I love Banana Republic. The styles and the selection. I usually wait until a big sale comes along like 40% and then splurge on work clothes for the year. Can't be the quality for the price.
Great online process. I can return at our local store if it doesn't fit. I love the clothes.
I love shopping at Banana Republic, they're clothes are some of the best. Being one who's really into labels I have to write that Banana Republic is a great value for great quality.
Hi, I would never visit this shop again, they made my pleasant shopping day into a bitter day. I shopped for $100 and while paying the cashier rudely asks me to show my govt issued identity(out of all the customers. He somehow feels that Iam a thief), which I felt was unnecessary buy anyhow showed him and kept back in my vallet, he then asks me to show my credit card and then he again asks me to show my card and identity at the same time and then questions about my last name... seriously he thinks he is CIA or some bank protection fellow... and when I asked him why he says it's for my own security. I felt ridiculous as I know how to protect my card and my bank takes care of protection for which they charge me. Why would this Banana Republic sales guy want to become this Captain America and... ultimately I became a spectacle for the crowd. They should be in their limits and behave with customers properly... if they are seriously concerned about fraud they should do it for every customer. Not selectively choosing customers based on color or skin... and being racist towards some customers. Before being over cautious about your transaction s, first try to give good quality clothing. I will never visit this stores again and will never suggest anyone I know. Being in retail you should know the value of a customer, which you really don't give a damn... Bye bye Banana Republic
I returned 3 of my last purchases but keep trying buying there because the service is just AMAZING. Placed an order at 5 pm, got it shipped to me same night at 9 pm (on Sunday), Monday noon at my door.
It's hard to shop at this website because pictures are so small. They need to at least offer how many pictures you see per column. Need to have more detailed pictures of fabric, buttons and other details.
Otherwise this company has a potential of surviving the China craze.
I like the way you can amble around the shop without being pounced upon, and being asked if they can can help you. Good quality clothing too.
This brand has good quality items, that last. Sweaters, silk tops, velvet anything, very well made and lovely. You wont be dissappointed.
Some person in Mexico started a chain called Banana Republica with bootleg copies of all their producs.
When it started it was a daring and innovative store selling everything Indiana Jones might need on his next adventure.
The stores had jeeps sticking halfway out of the window and elephant tusks and terrific safari jackets.
Not everyone who buys this stuff intends to go on safari, just look like you just came back.
Then the GAP bought it and removed all the things that made it interesting and raised the prices.
I have 3 safari jackets from the old Banana Republic (all good value and quality) and a $110 belt from the new Banana Republic.
The design and quality of the old safari jacket was unique to them.
A $110 belt is not.
Something has happened to Banana Republic. The sizing of women's apparel is way off now. Seem to be using cheaper fabric as well. Clothes are still stylish but hard to shop online.

As a once frequent and loyal BR shopper, I no longer have anything good to say about this brand. For years they have been the go-to for many occaisons and have always come through. However the past several months it feels as though the brand is nose diving into oblivion. Cheap cheap cheap fabrics, questionable designs, unflattering fits, false pricing, I could go on and on! From a design standpoint, creative director Marissa Webb has made an absolute mess of BR! Even though she was recently demoted(to supposedly work on her own brand!) it will be interesting to see if they can pull themselves out of the swamp they are currently in. Meanwhile, wait for their sales, none of their things are worth it for anyone paying full price.
They do a fantastic job with customer service, and as the upper end of Old Navy and Gap, they should. They offer price incentives, as well as sales. They ship a bit slowely, which they should work on.
Checked out shoes on sale...$109.00 is this another joke? Hard working people can"t afford these so called on sale shoes!
Think it was around summer 2003 i shopped at banana republic. The cloths that fit me were to tight and snug, not feeling quit as comfortable as calvin kline or polo, ect. Where the materials also seemed simular to express or abercrombie & fitch. So it was really, idk never feeling right for me. After newyear, 2015, i took my sister shopping at the local outlets where she never shoped in one, so i took her in. Surprisingly, the hoodies quality were = CK, and some of the textured sports/jackets were very nice, the ear ring and accessory selection was also as good. Im thrilled to see BR increase their comfort and quality of product over the years.
I used to come to this store many times each year and spent about $1500 annually. Recently they have brought in a new store manager who is THE WORST.
I have watched her berate an employee in front of other customers. She is rude and obnoxious to deal with. I believe her name is Shawna. I was so disgusted in seeing this person act the way she did that I will not be back again until they dump her out the door where she belongs. I cant imagine what it must be like there now to have to work for someone like that. I pity those people. I had come to know a few of them and they are not a happy bunch. I'm not the only one who will take my business elsewhere. IF you read this and believe people (customers or staff) should be treated with some basic respect and kindness, take your business elsewhere and fire this place from your shopping itinerary until they fire the manager!
