This brand fits true to size, the fabrics of the clothing are superior to that of places like gap and old navy. You buy it and will last years of washing and wearing - hence why it costs more than inferior shops. I received compliments every time I wear this brand. I buy my clothes online and they have an excellent customer service.
So Banana Republic had a 40% off sale, so I decided to order a pair of mens Dellbrook loafers for my boyfriend and he also (unknowingly that I'd already ordered him a pair) ordered the same shoe. We are super excited because we never catch this shoe on sale… the one I ordered gets delivered first… destroyed shoebox states 10.5 (which is what I ordered) but shoes inside are 11.5… so I call customer service and apparently out of all the stores in the US she can only locate one 10.5. It's been a week but I am hopeful they will arrive soon.
Now today, a week later my boyfriend's order is delivered… we are still shocked at what we received (pictures attached) … there are no words… waiting for full refund. Will not be making another purchase online from Banana Republic ever again. He received someone's used… extremely used shoes that are not even the style ordered. There is absolutely no way these shoes should have been in their warehouse much less shipped to a customer. This is so disgusting! I really hope they find out how this happened and ensure it never happens again!
Quality of clothing are good and lasts long. You can find simple, cute yet classy clothing. Prices are not bad.
Four weeks ago I ordered a black turtle neck from BR online. I received a green cashmere sweater instead. Since the black TN was no longer available I kept the green sweater. Again few days ago I ordered another black TN(different SKU and style). I received a really ugly white t-shirt in the wrong size, and the kicker was that the T shirt had a price tag from Old Navy. Go figure. I called BR and spoke to a manager, the best they could do is provide a return label... the item is not even worth that, it is crap. Of course the sweater I want is not longer available. In both cases the items came with in a transparent plastic bag with a label. In both cases the label SKU number matched what I had ordered but the item in the bag was the wrong one. They agreed that if the black sweater becomes available again they will allow me to buy it at the sales price... big deal. You don't have to be a genius to know that the sweater is sold out. I had not shop at BR for a long time, but this season had exceptional items. This experience has soured it for me. Not sure I will shop there again... not that they would care.
At this time in Canada there is advertised 60% off sale items. When you look at men's traveller pants, you will see that below the description it says 60% taken off at check out. FALSE! Apparently the 60% off the sale item, which is isually listed at the regular retail price, is not available for a discount. The discount after discussing this with customer service agent only applies to certain colours, which are not identified. So on a Canadian order of 3 pairs of advertised saleTraveller pants the total came to $372 dollars, no discout, just the regular price! This is false advertising, a scam!
I just want to give a review on the packing of my shipment. I received my package. The outside package was not wet. Inside that package are 2 jeans both packed in separate plastic bags neither are wet on the outside. I removed the first pair perfectly fine. I open the second plastic bag and inside the pair of jeans are very wet. Wtf. These jeans should never have been sent. This is an awful look for your brand. I totally get packages getting wet or damaged in transit but this left your warehouse like that. That is mold. Very unhappy customer. Will be returning both pairs.
I just want to write to express how horrible your customer service is! I place order #17J63VK on 11/25 which was marked as fraud for no apparent reason, so I called and cleared the transaction and placed order #17YMN57 with a live representative. I missed the email from your department moments later on the same day that stated that all but two items were cancelled! Cancelled!? When I placed the order with a representative telling me what was available! How unbelievable! You could have had the decency to call me and advise that 20+ items were cancelled on the same day that I just placed it with your rep. These were supposed to be Christmas gifts but trust me, I'll NEVER order from your site again!
They don't allow you to make payment over the phone or online with a credit card. They make it incredibly hard to contact them. If I don't pay them and I'm late they charge me a $40 late fee. Synchrony Bank is the card provider And everything is set up to frustrate the card holder. I'd avoid Banana Republic's Rewards Program. It's like they set it up so the customer would fail.
I had one card open and they made me open another card. It looks like my old card is still active. Everything has been so frustrating to this point. It feels like a trap and if you call into their customer service they just keep passing you off to the next rep. It's not worth it move on!
Banana Republic Credit card was likely the best reward points credit card every paired with a very reputable brand with decent quality clothing. I've been a customer for 25 years and a card holder for 14 years. The credit card point system has been changed and no longer benefits cardholders - it is now on par every other credit card reward program. You can't qualify the point system because they are now trying to comparing apples to doritos and their online checkout platform is as transparent as mud.
Their return doesn't include any identification how many items you are returning like amazon. So you can return 1 or 4 items there are no guaranteed the customer is protected

Their system is absolutely horrible and their machine doesn't recognize anything I say. The automated system goes around in circles and doesn't understand "NO" and continues to ignore you on the phone. Then it just hangs up, happened twice. I just want to talk to someone to remove an authorized user. It keeps wants to give me my activity. Why does it even give that without even asking, it just wastes time!
There were many adjectives I could have used but that would be small of me. I used to be an avid BR shopper until June 23,2021. I fell in-love with the ribbed tanks and bought 3 via the US and had them shipped to me in Canada because the sizes were not available in Canada. Yes, after purchasing the blush pink, I needed them all. I made an order in Canada on the June 21 and waited kept checking for the shipment details. On June 29, I saw a refund of $75 and no email about what happened. They charged my CC and later cancelled my order without a reason. After 18 years of shopping, I am done with them. I had plans for those tops, there was a reason for the purchase. BR Customer Service, you have a lot of angry customers and the issues need to be addressed. I hope Mr. And Mrs. Ziegler (owners) read these reviews and address the issues/team and improve. Customers should be retained; not left to feel their dollar does not matter. The service is truly lacking and I truly wish BR every success. I am just NOT a customer anymore. I planned a whole look for a special occasion and now... no tops.
It appears that Banana Republic Corporate is falling short of ensuring consumers are recipients of quality, knowledgable, respectful, and supportive customer service. I returned an item within 24 hours of my receipt using the company's prepaid shipping label. Unfortunately, the shipment was apparently lost in transit. Although I provided Banana Republic with a copy of my UPS receipt validating my (prompt) return of the item, the company refused to issue a refund until the lost shipment was located and / or a claim was submitted. I informed both the representative and supervisor that this issue was between Banana Republic and their 'contracted shipper' and does not involve the customer. Further, I asserted that their refusal to issue my refund due to a problem with their shipper is a violation of my consumer rights. However, PayPal issued my rightful and long overdue refund immediately following the initiation of a dispute claim. Sadly, Banana Republic's continuing pattern of numerous negative online reviews is indicative of their failure to micromanage staff training, their level of knowledge specific to policies and consumer rights, and personable customer service skills. SHAME ON BANANA REPUBLIC CORPORATE for their role in allowing customers to be victim to such substandard customer service!
Beware of misleading advertising! The company sent me a $15 off coupon for my birthday month that clearly says on it the coupon can be combined with up to one other offer. When I tried to order the customer service rep told me the coupon code says it can not be combined. Although I'm looking at the paper in my hand which clearly says that it can! Short story is I wasn't able to get the discount on the item. Plus I wasted 20 minutes on the phone with them trying to sort it out. What a waste. Their stuff isn't worth buying full price, so I guess this is the only way to lure you into shopping and hope you'll still purchase when they pull the wool over your eyes. And I've been a BR cardholder for 20 years.
A simple chat online to explain pricing that was not going through at check out. Spoke to Nicholas R. Who was not inclined to help or explain what was clearly misrepresented on the item. Stated 50% off but at check out it was 10% off... He pretty much told me to look closer at terms and conditions and as I was typing my next question, he ended the chat! Banana Republic has been slipping in quality a lot in the past few years and their customer service was never top notch, but this was awful. While I love their jewelry, I am done with any of their product.
It is been almost 2months since i returned&they been received my return packages, but until now i haven't received my refund. There is so many excuse, and after several times i ask about it. Last week they say that the items does not meet our return policy guidelines. How come? It is brand new still on tag, less than 30days & it is not final sale.
Bad customer service, don't help anything about it! Ask me to wait everytime i ask..
Ordered a shirt from them online. Product came with a security tag attached. They offered me a ridiculous sum as settlement which I rejected. Don't order from them. This is not the company we used to know.
Why is it that online purchases take your money right away but refunds take 30+ days to process? It's a bad business practice and Banana Republic is notorious for it.
I recently ordered some dress shirts for my nephew who lives in Saratoga Springs, NY. I realized immediately when the order confirmed that it was showing my home address as the shipping destination. I called right away to change the address and I was told it was impossible to do that. When I asked if I could cancel the order, they said NO that would not be possible. What kind of company does that? I've ordered from them for years but that's not happening any more. I'll continue to write these reviews in the hope others won't have this problem. Not a good idea to order from them if you looking for good customer service.
