Boring and flat

It would be nice if it were possible to have a few options with respect to those reading aloud. Some are truly horrible. Flat and boring, adding absolutely nothing to some of the top rated books. Additionally, if we're paying their monthly fee, throwing in some sound effects would not be a bad place to start. I honestly get more out of my free podcasts than I do out of this subscription. One can dream, I suppose.

Audiable Scam

Never had an audio book in my life and I see a £7.99 payment to Audiable UK... and then found another £7.99 back in March... there explanation was "a family member has been using your card and we've emailed them to contact you and explain"... What... scammed me through my Amazon prime account and this is there pathetic excuse...

Ive been with Audible for 5 years. In the 5 years there's been some mishaps and some victories! But through it all ive had a VERY positive experience with Audible. There is always new books to find and THE DEAL OF THE DAY IS ALWAYS A GREAT DEAL. Go get your free trial and stick with it! You won't regret it trust me and hint upgrade to the highest package your experience will be amazing and worth the money and time! I'm staying with Audible it's my lifeline. I have Insomnia and if I didnt have audible to listen to at night to put me sleep I'd never sleep. Audible is a life saver a lifeline a Wonderful service. And the customer service is WONDERFUL also wow a 2fer lol

Audible have failed to advise customers of their returns policy. I return less than 1 in 10 books and only those I don't complete but I have now been threatened that they will not allow me to return anymore. This is contra to their advertisement of returning any books you don't like. Customer service has failed to respond to 5 separate emails asking for clarity and just sends a generic response. So suggest that you only purchase books that you 100% know that you'll like and won't want to return.

As others have written, DO NOT SUBSCIBE TO AUDIBLE! Even after confirming being unsubscribed on multiple occasions over multiple months, it keeps charging! This is horrible practice on the part of auduble/amazon and its only a matter of time before someone digs deeper in this shady financial malpractice given the number of reviews im finding saying the same thing. Again, to reiterate, this is with confirmation of unsubscribing, it continues to charge.

Terrible

I signed up for the "free trial" trusting that the company would be reputable since Amazon links up and it is enforced so heavily. Right away, I had issue with the fact that I had a $1.81 charge on my account when there shouldn't have been anything, then not even an hour later another $1.81 charge. That was enough to make me cancel. There was no reason to charge my account anything at all, let alone twice in an hour. Hopefully they really did cancel my account.

Audible is awesome!

I strongly disagree with a one point whatever rating on audible I give it 5 solid stars! Education wise I'd say it was the best thing that ever happened to me. I'm and over the road truck driver and for the past 6 years I have been learning everyday all day at least when I'm on the road. It's worth every penny and the compounded interest on that investment is priceless! I will say I buy it on annual membership and I renew it annually as well so I don't know about the month to month billing issues that have been mentioned. If you don't get help at audible... please get help somewhere.;-)

SCAM!

Got charged even though I cancelled my "free trial" before it expired. Than got charged twice for audible and audible uk even though I only used one single app. So I cancelled my account YET AGAIN and it turns out once you cancel you cant use a credit to get a book regardless that your account will be active for 30 more days (because you payed for 30 more days... unwillingly). This platform is a scam.

I had an account on amazon prime to watch movies and cancelled it in July 2020, then I noticed I kept getting emails from amazon audible and thought nothing of it until I checked my credit card account and found they had been charging me for this service since December 2020 and a few more payment transactions in 2021 for a subscription I never signed up for. I have all the emails to show that I cancelled amazon in July 2020 yet how could a company take your details and sign you up to a service that you did NOT authorize! It is illegal.

I actually really liked Audible. I'm a big book listener. But I canceled my account like over a year ago now, because I had so many books in my library it would take me a year to get through them all. After canceling, I noticed for about 3 or 4 months I was charged the monthly fee when I looked through my bank account. Annoying yes, but I contacted them and they refunded me. All is good right? Wrong. They started charging me again monthly and I just noticed it. They have charged me the last several months even though when I go to log in it says I don't have a subscription! Now I have to waste my time and contact them again to refund me. And who knows if they'll just keep doing it. I don't know what kind of scam they're trying to pull, but this is a disgusting business practice and they clearly don't value honesty and transparency. This isn't just a one time thing, it's happened twice to me and according to other reviews, it's regular practice for this company.

Audible has not allowed me to return books online. I always must call customer service which is a bit of a hassle. I have many credits and downloaded many books over time. Some I listened to & in others I was no longer interested. I returned a number of audible books at once to avoid having to make multiple customer service calls. Today I get a warning saying " This continued rate of returns may cause you to lose access to making returns in the future. "Per our policy, Audible reserves the right to limit the number of returns, and the loss of return privileges if we determine returns to be in abuse of policy." I can not believe this absolutely irrational policy given they have allotted me so many credits. Buyer beware. I will call them to disc this policy.

AUDIBLE DOES NOT ALLOW YOU TO DELETE YOUR CREDIT CARD INFORMATION EVEN AFTER... I REPEAT EVEN AFTER YOU HAD CANCELLED YOUR MEMBERSHIP. WHAT KIND OF COMPANY DOES THAT? IT'S SHADY. IT'S NOT GOOD BUSINESS. AND, I WILL BE CALLING MY CREDIT CARD COMPANY AND MAKE SURE THEY DON'T ALLOW ANOTHER CHARGE AGAIN. WHICH, IS A PAIN IN THE BUTT, BUT THAT IS WHAT BUSINESSES LIKE THIS HOPE AND PRAY FOR, SO THEY CAN KEEP EIKING OUT MONEY FROM PEOPLE WHO TRUSTED THE PROCESS. Over charged

My account was charged 2 payments I wasn't expecting - $38 in total! What subscription costs $38?! Really unhappy with the service.

They told me they cancelled my subscription in October 2020. In November and December I was charged again. We started charge backs on the credit card and got that money back but JUST today we were charged AGAIN

Credits taken away

I have been a customer of audible for 3 or more years and for the most part have been happy with it, with the exception of it being a little costly. I recently decided to cancel my subscription due to needing to tighten my finances with the pandemic. I had 6 credits that I paid for and did not "spend" prior to canceling, but felt my credits would be safe after cancellation because one other time I canceled my credits stayed and I could use them after cancellation. Not this time! The 6 credits that I paid for, $89 worth of books is gone! I had considered joining again once things settled down, NOT NOW! I am soooo disappointed with Amazon audible! Jeff Bezos makes more money than all but one other person in the United States. Guess this is one of the reasons why!

DON'T BUY THE PREMIUM PLUS Annual! I have been a listener since 2011, I was encouraged to upgrade to PPA. ($149.50) From one of the regular plans $22.95 / 2 credits a month. The PPA, says you get 12 credits and unlimited returns and exchanges.
NO QUESTIONS ASKED! (It was IMPLIED)
In there own contract and wording.
And, so I bought there $149.50 PPA membership. I FREELY gave over my payment. I was SOLD. Because,
I was TOLD no problem WITH exchanges and returns. And, There was no wording of what would happen. BUT... Then, after making a numerous amount of buys, exchanges and returns they
STOP, my exchanges/returns. What did I do? I followed the contract. I followed what I was offered.
They sent me a email saying I was abusing my power of returns. What is the abuse? How is that?
When I was told. When I was encouraged, exchanges and returns where unlimited. Plus, everytime I made a call for my returns, they sent me a message from customer service telling me with my membership I can return ANY, I repeat ANY AUDIBLE BOOK I AM UNHAPPY WITH!
And, this is why I bought this membership. Why is it the little guys, are the one who always pay for there LIES. For the misrepresentation of there CONTRACT! They are not to be trusted. Like a fish and reel. They real you in. And, your hooked, Then they can di what ever they want they got your money.
But, BEWARE, BECAREFUL, BE CAUTIOUS. Just cause you see it in writing don't mean they have to follow there own rules! They have a different playbook!

I was charged on my credit card by Audible overnight.
The charge was fraudulent.
I had no trial subscription or any subscription with Audible at Amazon.
The agent at Audible also could see no trial subscription or any subscription.
The charge is bogus.
There is no way this can happen by accident. It is no "glitch."
Computers don't make bogus charges unless some person instructs them to do it.
There is something dishonest going on at Audible.
There are many hits from a search on "bogus Audible charge." So, I am not the only one being worked over by Audible.
Audible says it is an Amazon company. If it is, Amazon has some problems there that are hurting their reputation.
