I found it very helpful as the phone calls customer service is not available or you would need to wait and switch among different departments to get what you need, with the direct chat, you got what you need directly.
I won a Property in February. My contact person, Samantha Hughes, was nowhere to be found. She send form emails and would never respond to my emails or answer my calls. The only information I received was from calling the 1-800 number numerous times. They, by the way, were amazing and helpful. I completed all the steps asked of me except signing the purchase agreement. Samantha Hughes just continued to send form emails asking me to docusign but there was nothing to sign! She finally called back when I was in danger of defaulting on the property only to tell me that I had entered my email wrong so the purchase agreement had been going somewhere else for weeks. I received numerous emails from other people within the company by the email I provided. She entered my email wrong and would never admit.it. She has no business working with the public! Completely lazy and incompetent. Now onto problem #2. Auction.com provided a company called Servicelink to do title search on property. They sent back clean title so I was finally able to close on the property. Once I bought supplies to fix up property and spent quite a bit on closing costs and fees I was out over $4000 when a nice gentleman showed up at property and told me he'd bought the house on a tax auction so the house belonged to him. Imagine that! Thankfully there was title insurance but that didn't cover my $4000 out of pocket expenses. Needless to say, stead clear of this company! They don't care that they are selling property that's akrea been purchased!
I have bid several properties on this site and I am struggling to find the value. The reserve prices are way too high given the risk involved and the fact that most of the purchases must be cash. I won a property earlier this year that would have been a decent deal, but by the time I paid all the hidden fees and charges I basically made zero money and wasted my time. I think you can find better and safer deals elsewhere...
I have one question and was answered right away! Thank you for the excellent customer service team member!
I was the successful winner of an auctioned property in April... I met the reserve and was sent confirmation that I was the property buyer.
I submitted all documents on time as well as wiring them money (approximately $12,000) during the initial phase for purchasing the property... We called to try and get updates and were told everything was fine and that the sale was in the processing stage. After 3 weeks into the process, we called to get an explanation update after our title agent received an email stating the purchase was declined... they would not give a reason for the decline... Afterward, Auction.com RELISTED and attempted to RE-AUCTION the property 3 more times stating a higher value on the property... all three times the property failed to meet the reserve... After the fourth time, the listing showed that it was pending and the price sold was less than what our purchase price... For over a month, after repeated calls, I could not talk to ANYONE who would provide any info as to WHY THEY kept listing the property after I had WON the BID and had the HIGHEST and BEST OFFER on the property... IT took a month for me to get my money back from them and BUT they would not reimburse my wiring fees and other costs...
She was composed, extremely poised and just attended to my inquiry concisely and effectively via Chat.
I felt so much better about the process with her input and update. I called the Call Center to no avail so I was completely relieved to have Jalessa on the other end to answer my questions.
I just did a live chat on auction.com. I was only waiting 1 minute and she introduced herself and helped find the answer I needed. Highly recommend you contact them if you have a question about
Property or bidding.
Great customer service! We had many questions and All questions answered :) Exceeded my expectations :)
I have bid on several homes over the years and never purchased a home even though on some I was high bidder in excess of the reserves. The latest auction is for a house that is already under contract from a previous auction. In other words it isn't even for sale. I arranged for a realtor to get me inside so as to increase bid but he can't as it is under contract. Yet they have you go through all the processes only to find that it can't be bought at any price. I'm an investor with 100+ deals done through many auctions but this one is a waste of time as the internal communication seems to be nonexistent.
We’re sorry to hear you didn’t have a great experience. The Reserve Price is disclosed in certain instances. It’s up to the sellers to decide whether to disclose the Reserve Price (or minimum amount that they will accept for a property). The sellers have the option of accepting an offer that is less than the Reserve Price, but once the Reserve Price is met, the sellers should be agreeable to sell the property. When the Reserve Price is disclosed, you can find it on the property webpage near the property photos. You can also search the site to find properties that disclose the Reserve Price.

Jalessa was very helpful and answered all of my questions. I highly recommend auction.com they are very helpful.
Not impressed with their service or the terms in condition I was going to bid on property just to find out there was no title and when I did my due diligence there was no foreclosure!
The site says you will get a $2,500 credit card hold in order to register. This is a lie. Just 20 minutes after attempting to register, which the site said "failed", my credit card company locked my card and when I called they confirmed it was NOT just a hold, it was an attempt to charge. Now I have to wait a week for a new credit card. Jerks.
A $2500 credit or debit card hold (Bid Deposit) is required to bid on a bank-owned property on Auction.com. The hold doesn’t appear as a charge to your credit card and appears as a pending transaction on your debit card. The hold is typically removed the Saturday following the auction event, but please check with your financial institution for confirmation of available funds/credit. In some cases, releases may take a longer period.
I have purchased 80 properties online on behalf of the company I work for and over 50 of those have been through Auction.com.
Auction.com is the easiest to use. Their people (especially Nicole Mizerek) have been excellent to work with.
They are not perfect - but compared to the competition - they are rock stars!
I didn't have a clue on how to bid. I contacted auction.com chat services and they was more than willing, able and ready to help me. The 2500$ was on hold and they was not worried about locking me in to keep my cash. It appeared that they really wanted me to learn about the process and be comfortable with the sale as opposed to keep money.
Do not do business with this company. They lie and do not communicate with the buyer. It's as if the left hand and don't know what the right hand is doing. I bid and won the bid on 4008 s Indigo in Harvey, Louisiana. On 5/18/2020. I submitted my proof of funds on 5/17/2020. I then wired the 5% of purchase price, $5135. 00 to the address and account they provided On 5/24. I finally was able to ask for a supervisor at Brightline to help me get my refund.
My name is Lovie Mcgee

Auction.com drives bidding up on behalf of the bank for bank owned properties. Bank owned properties have an undisclosed reserve price then drives shill bids in an attempt to meet reserve price or a higher sell price. If the bid does not meet the reserve the property will be delisted the next week. The minimum bid is low enough to suck you in so the shills can drive up the price. Also, the pictures do not depict the current property condition. The property I view has been vacant for two years and turned into a dump by locals. It was so bad that I notified the county supervisor and code enforcement for action.
Many of our properties are occupied by former owners or tenants, so be sure to check the property webpage to learn as much as you can. If a property is occupied, there will not be interior acces but you can still conduct some due diligence. You can drive by the outside to view the property and observe the neighborhood. You can also research the schools and crime rate. But please do not disturb the occupants or trespass on the property.
Complete waste of time and effort, if the company is bidding against possible buyers to drive up prices to meet reserve why not just put opening bid at reserve and save everybody time? Dishonest practices.

Was winning bid on the property till 3 minutes prior to the auction ending and the $5,000.00 bidding increments was reduced to $500.00 and the house sold for $1,000.00 above my bid before the auction ended. I was never notified that the bidding increment changed. After contacting them, they said they can do whatever they want! Very unethical and deleted there app off my iPad.
I bid on a property that they claimed was worth about $234K, and Zillow said it was worth about $130K. Getting it for $70K seemed like dream come true. After winning I wanted to see in person (about 3 hour drive), but was told I would not be able to see until after closing. After many attempts to gain access, I went to view exterior. The building was rotting away, with the door sill riddled with wood rot, which spreads like the plague, and is worse than termites to a structure. So basically, the property was worth less than the land, because I will have to pay to have it demolished and removed. This is blatant fraud, and illegal in NJ to sell a property with known hidden problems. They claim they have never lived there, so do not know of problems, but the first thing the bank does after foreclosure is has an inspection report. The only legitimate auctions on the site are not bargains in any way, with reserves higher than you could have bought it through a realtor.
I had bid on another property, and was high bidder, but bank informed me they refuse my bid, and wanted $13K more for it. I went to see property, and the pictures they took were completely misleading. The house had numerous other building on property, and one, the other side was completely missing, from being rotted off. The second floor of main building leaned about 3 inches from front to back, over about 12 feet.
So basically Auction.com is in collusion with fraudulent bankers, and never believe any listing on Zillow without seeing with your own eyes. Zillow will outright lie, to get business from Auction.com.
One other issue with Zillow, is they sometimes leave listings on their site, that have not been available for several months.
Thank you for your review. It is important to conduct your due diligence beforehand. Be sure to check the property details page to learn as much as you can. You can drive by the outside to take photos and observe the neighborhood. Please be mindful that our properties are sold “as is”.
Per the terms and conditions you agreed to when registering, a property may be sold to you “subject to”. When a property is sold “subject to the seller’s confirmation,” the sellers don’t accept the bid right away so the sale is subject to their confirmation, meaning they have a set period of time to either accept or reject the offer. If you have any additional questions or concerns, please call our Customer Care team 800-793-6107 Mon – Fri 7am to 7pm CST., or email us with your contact information at [email protected].
In the Tucson Arizona area, their estimated resale value always seems to be on the extreme high side.
Thank you for your review. The Estimated Resale Value is an estimate of the property’s resale value after it has been completely renovated with high-level upgrades. This value is provided by a third party based on historical data from property records. This is only a guideline. We recommend you do your own research on comparable sales and costs of renovating the property. Please call our Customer Care Team for more information, 5 AM - 5 PM PST 800-793-6107.
Answer: I believe that the average potential buyer does not do their DUE diligence AHEAD of time. I first, read all the documents attached to the property I was interested in. Second, I drove by the property to check things out. Third, I went to the county recording office to see if there were any liens against them. Fourth, I ran the comps for the houses in the neighborhood and look at the rating for the schools within the district. Fifth, know what your limit is on what your final bid will be and do not bid over that amount just to win the auction. Other tips, try to get ahold of the agent that is representing the property and just ask them if they are willing to let you see the property inside, all they can say is no, right? I hope this helps. Wait, miscellaneous stuff, It is true, all auctions on this site are STRICKLY in favor of the seller... Negotiating is near to none.
Answer: The bank can and will bid against you to get a higher price (shilling). Read the web site. This practice is illegal everywhere else. But get the banks a higher price.
Answer: If you win the auction it is a binding contract. Contracts are to be E signed within like 2hrs I think. Most are sold as is. Due your homework before you buy! Mark
Answer: Have your real estate agent search title. If the property is occupied, you will have to get the people out yourself.
Answer: May we please have the property address you are inquiring about?
Answer: It means that the sale did not go though, there could be many reasons. And they are so opaque you will never find out what the reason was... maybe no financing, maybe spam bidding, maybe the seller backed out...

When a property is sold “subject to,” it means the property is being sold subject to the seller’s approval. Sellers set a Reserve Price, which is the minimum they will accept. Sometimes, the highest bid is still below the Reserve Price. When this happens, the sale is “subject to” the seller’s acceptance.
Another term used at Auction.com is sold “subject to the seller’s confirmation.” In this instance, the sellers do not accept the bid right away so the sale is subject to their confirmation, meaning they have a set period of time to either accept or reject the offer.
If the bidding does not meet the reserve, there are two options, the seller can either: reject all bids, in which case the seller may elect to re- auction the property or, the property may be sold “subject to” seller’s approval which simply means that after the winning bidder has been declared, the seller has a period of time to decide if they want to accept or reject that bid. Typically, if the highest bid is not close enough to the reserve, or the auction ends in a seller counter bid, the property would need to be re-auctioned.
All Earnest Money Deposits are wired from the buyer to the seller's closing company Auction.com is not responsible for the reimbursement of these funds.
