Customers frequently express frustration with long wait times, ineffective support, and unresolved billing issues, leading to a sense of distrust and dissatisfaction. Complaints about unauthorized charges and poor communication from representatives are common, suggesting systemic problems in service delivery. They gave me the wrong number. When I called the operator, they couldn't give me a number. I needed the number because I left my cell phone on a kiosk there. ATT supervisor pretended that she couldn't hear me and proceeded to say "I am releasing the line and hung up. I had to find someone to use their cell phone to call HCSO to locate my phone. ATT overcharges for services as it is and the service is never up to par. ATT would make Alexander Bell turn over in his grave.

Will lie to you to get you to use them.
Traded in phone and was told it was eligible both on the website and a customer service rep. Now being told the phone was not eligible and they never contacted me to let me know. They kept my phone I traded in and recycled it!. Was told I would be getting credits for the trade in but never saw them. Now I'm stuck paying full price on phone for 3 years. Never again will I use them.

We can't give a Zero. On July 17,2022, I took my elderly, frail and immobile mother into her local AT&T store in her wheelchair. The purpose of this trip was to upgrade her iPhone 8 to an iPhone 12. When we entered the store, we explained that she wanted to get an iPhone 12 and add it to her existing line. The rep showed us a monthly payment of 73/month. We informed him to proceed. The monthly cost was for the most basic coverage and her installment plan of the phone. We did not want or need insurance. Simple enough you would think, but NOOOOO. Fast forward almost exactly a year. While I was visiting my mother at her assisted living facility, she asked me to check her phone bill because she is paying over 230/month and it is affecting other bills, late payments, insufficient fees, etc. She is on a limited and fixed income and she has a set amount put into her account for paying bills such as this. It was budgeted for 80/month for her phone. Needless to say, instead of just upgrading her phone and the simple data plan, the guys at the store took advantage of this elderly woman. The iPhone 12 was given a new number and for some other reason, they added a third line. Needless to say, this was NOT done on our part and AT&T acknowledges this. In essence, she was paying for 3 lines and 3 different data plans, one of them the Unlimited Premium. 3 activation fees and three insurances, when there should have only been 1 phone. All attempts to contact AT&T have been useless. They said that she should have noticed this within the first 6 months and they can't do anything about helping her. I agree it should have been caught sooner, but we thought everything was all set so she just never looked and everything was on auto pay and deposit oh her account. She was being charged in excess of 160/month extra for 12 months. This is a classic case of elder abuse and they refuse to budge. I can't even imagine a big conglomerate refusing to FIX what was initially their mistake!

I had to switch to them because T-mobile doesn't work very well in where I live.
They never shipped me the SIM card I needed, so I had to go into the store, after paid for their service for a month without being able to use it (they also overcharged me $99 installation fee, took me 30 mins on the phone to get the money back). When I'm porting my number to AT&T, their customer service took their sweet time to deactivate my temporary number, before activating my new number. Which caused our phone call to cut off, because the temporary number I used to call them doesn't work anymore. I had to walk into their store third time in the week to activate the number. I CAN'T BELIEVE PEOPLE CAN BE THIS STUPID.

Past doe
July 24, 2023

Switched to AT&T in November last year! The worst decision ever! Mind you I'm on auto pay! Every month I get a message saying you are past doe then The Calls start! Three phone calls a day! So now this has been going on for the past seven months I have to call in every other month to make the payment and set up auto pay again! They say my last payment was on may 26th but they pulled money out on the 29th of may and have no record of this payment! So tired of the non-professional service at AT&T!

For foreigners traveling in the US- don't buy their prepaid e-SIM cards. Terrible service, even worse customer support. Extremely rude and unhelpful. I lost 55$ dollars and a lot of days staying on the phone or in their physical stores. Enjoy the States and DON'T BUY THEIR SERVICE.

Ms or Mrs Ameisha
July 24, 2023

AT&T has been around for a very long time and not always are they truthful or Ethical. I had a manager from AT&T who should be working for corporate! She listened to my problem, she searched to identify the problem, and she fixed my problem. She was very thorough! I prefer spectrum, and spectrum gets 10 stars! AT&T and their company we have left twice because of being lied too (At&t gets 1). Ms. Ameisha is the type of person, any big company should want, because she goes above and beyond to find a solution to the problem, she is: gracious, patient, and kind!
Ms. Ameisha gets 10, if att&t had more like her, they would have excellent and not poor reviews! Thank you Ms. Ameisha, and God bless you!

I've paid off the installment plan and was told that the phone would get unlocked. It was confirmed twice that it was unlocked but somehow the confirmation email was never sent. Over a week long, 6-8 hours later, about 15 phone calls...10 of those phone calls mysteriously got disconnected with no return call, the phone is still locked and they conveniently asked me to check back on Monday (after another billing cycle) and having to wait for another 30 days. I know for a fact that this is a 15 minute fix.

This is such a racket and ways of frustrating consumers so that they stay with AT&T rather than deal with this. I was planning on removing just one number but now am moving my whole service elsewhere. Don't switch to AT&T. New consumers beware of going with AT&T.

After receiving an email from AT&T saying congratulations on paying off our iPhones and we could get a new iPhones for free with our trade in we went to our local store. The AT&T representative gave me a quote of $700 for my old iPhone12 (after speaking to the manager) and said I could get a new iPhone14 for free when I turned in my old phone (just pay the $67 in taxes, which I did that day). They transferred my data to the new phone then told me to take my old phone home to make sure all data was transferred. The next morning my wife turned in my old phone and was told (14 hours later) my phone was only worth $350 and I would need to pay the remaining $350 for my new phone. My wife asked to speak to the manager but they said she was on vacation for the next week. They took my phone and gave my wife the receipt. When she got home the receipt said my old phone was worth $110 and I would be charged $9.73/month for 3 years for the new phone instead of getting the new phone for free. I called the same day to cancel the transaction and have my old phone returned but they said they could not return my old phone but I could return the new phone within 14 days and then just not have any phone. I called customer service who said that the actions were unfortunate but there was no fraud involved and there was nothing they could do. You would think after being a customer for 4 years that a company like AT&T would admit their representative lied or misrepresented the offer and wave the $9.73/month or give me back my old phone. Instead their solution is: they were going to send a letter to the store mentioning my complaint.

Went into my Costco and one of the crooks said they could get me a new phone and lower my bill.

I went for it and had to drop off my old phone to USPS. 4 months later they charged me $200+ for a non returned device fee and my bill has gone up to almost $120/mo for 1 line. They don't insure the returns so I found out USPS lost/stole my package and now I'm screwed.

Beware of this shady company and their greasy salespeople. I'll be switching to tmobile.

Worst company ever!
July 23, 2023

The father of my child works for AT&T had switch my kid and me over to his company. Thinking the father of your child will get you on what's BEST but no sir! He sure F us over big time! Paid 176$ first day for two new iPhone and opened two new line, switched from Verizon which I had No issue with just to support my daughter dads new job with att. Oh boy I was smacked with another bill 7/1 less than a month of $196 on att than got hit with another bill 7/16 $81 and was told my next bill will be Aug 16 and ohhhh boy another email that I have auto payment due 7/25 of $204!

I'm so upset with my child father right now because him not telling me this before switching us over and not answering any of my questions. Because even if I "chat" or called att the freaking phone representative was NO help either!

Stay away from ATT!

To anyone thinking about signing on with ATT PLEASE THINK TWICE. Since we change the service to att we have a nothing but trouble.
From system failure to keep auto paid to disconnect service due to their system not recognize the payment already taken, to blame the customer is not setting up the auto paid correctly with the agent, blame the customer of lying then promised to call the customer back but never did. Not to mention they will cancel cancel and reschedule your appointment without calling or telling you about it. Worse part is all they do is apologize for the issue and do nothing about it.

A salesman ported my number to AT&T without my consent, I left AT&T telephone service 3 days into a new billing cycle and I was charged for 30 days service. They refused to prorate based on number of days I actually used. Telephone service experience was also very bad, dropped calls, lost volume, bad connectivity
