On SmartCustomer, businesses may not offer incentives or pay to remove reviews. Learn more about our Review Guidelines.
The reviews reflect a predominantly negative perception of the company's overall reputation and customer service. Customers frequently express frustration with long wait times, ineffective support, and unresolved billing issues, leading to a sense of distrust and dissatisfaction. Complaints about unauthorized charges and poor communication from representatives are common, suggesting systemic problems in service delivery. While there are occasional mentions of product reliability, the overwhelming sentiment indicates that customers feel neglected and undervalued. This pattern points to a pressing need for the company to improve its customer service protocols and enhance accountability to regain consumer trust.

I went to the mall and i saw a "good offer" of at&t which was a 3 phone lines for $173 montly, unlimited plus 3 new cell phone
Songs good! Because i had tmobile paying $ 103 monthly and my husband had sprint paying 145 monthly.
We decided to switch to at&t believing in that promises. And it had been a nightmare every month with the bill, they overcharge for no reason. We ended paying a bill for 400 and something i dont remember, i called them and they told me that it was because the first month they charge activation and a few more things. They said that the next month i am going to be paying my 173 plus taxes as we agree with the contract, so the next month my bill was 345 dollars, i have 6 months with this company overcharging me every single month. And they told me that if i cancel the service i would have to pay around 2,000 dollars. Oh my god what a mistake we made switching to this horrible company. I fell so mad, and i don't know what to do
I had internet... called to see about adding tv to bundle. Was told I could. Quoted me a price of $69.99 plus tax. Got my bill & it was for $164.24... called in. Was told that you cannot add/bundle service to an existing service. There is nothing they can do. They SCAM you! They rope you in telling you stuff they have no clue about & then they bill you totally different amount & then claim they can't bundle after the fact! Then you are stuck in a 2 year contract that costs to get out of it! Will NEVER recommend AT&T to anyone EVER! Will give bad feedback everytime!
They stole a lot of money from my family.
Seriously.
With lies and make you wait they stole more than 1000$ for sure
Terrible
I was promised a Visa gift card that was to be used to pay off my phone with Verizon. I never received the gift card and now I owe Verizon Wireless almost $900. Don't believe the saleperson if they give you this deal. You will never receive the gift card!
If you can avoid using AT&T I suggest you do so at all costs. Getting our services consolidated has been a nightmare. We have waited a two weeks to get a landline number transferred to our new home. A 91 year old women has been left without phone service which is totally unacceptable.
I've had ATT&T as my carrier for quite a few years and for the most part the cell phone service area coverage is fine my problem is with the customer service I had an issue on my bill and had to call customer service 6 times to try to get it resolved it was supposedly escalated and there was a scheduled call back to me but that never happen more than once which is why I keep calling them back and each call was at least a 1/2 hr of my time. I'm currently shopping for a new carrier and will be parting ways with ATT&T.
I had a terrible experience with AT&T today. I called to inquire about international plans and was sold a $10 a day plan that was to cover calls, text & data. I told them where I was traveling, Israel & Jordan. I got home to a bill that should have been $130 over my normal but it was $353 over! Naturally I called to ask them to adjust it but they only offered a $50 credit. They deceived me to the tune of $220 and refused to fix it! I've been a loyal customer for over 20 years with 5 lines, I have purchased countless phones & ipads chargers, cases etc. over the years always paying on time and get treated like this. Goodbye AT&T! Apparently they couldn't care less. I payed off all of my phones and the inflated bill (0ver $1,500) and am switching carriers. Worst thing about it is that they don't care. I gave them every opportunity to save the account but there was no effort to do so. According to Google, they have 153 million customers so why should my business matter to them? Clearly it does not. Congratulations AT&T you cheated me out of $220 but lost a customer for life!
I expect your competitors will appreciate my business~
AT & T customer service is the worst I have ever experienced. It is hard to understand the people you are speaking with. I called to change my billing address on my account, that is all. I was on the line for over 35 minutes. I kept being switched from one person to another. You can't even call it Customer Service. It is the most incompetent service I have ever experienced.
This is a terrible service provider. You'll NEVER get the speeds you pay for and won't ever get anyone through customer service to help in any way. If I could give them 0 stars I would because 1 star is entirely too much.
I've been an ATT customer for 50 years. But over the past few years poor customer service has prompted me to drop their internet service, landline service and two months ago, their mobile phone service. On the latter, I had a credit of over $80 that they never gave back to me. I called, chatted, messaged via FB and even tried emailing corporate execs, but never could get an answer. Finally, I complained to the BBB and was contacted by a rep with a heavy foreign accent who told me I would be receiving my refund in 6-8 weeks. Well, yesterday I got it---in the form of a Debit Mastercard! WTF!@! Not even VISA that I can use with most businesses. I had to go thru the trouble of going to a 3rd party website, registering with my personal information just to request a check to be mailed---which I should receive in about 2 more weeks. What happened to the great company. They are not even third-rate anymore. I will never go back.
Look, no one is going to be 100% satisfied all the time. There's going to be issues. But what stands out to me is the customer service every single time I've had to call in or online chat with a rep about my issue. Every single time I'm treated like I'm valued and if you know how to demonstrate common courtesy, 9 times out of 10, the other person on the other end is going to try their best to help you. And for me, it's 10 times out of 10 that when I call or chat, someone is there to listen to my concern and do whatever they can to help me. I can tell that AT&T puts a lot of focus on customer service and for me, that alone means a lot. There's always going to be compatibility issues or situations that are not ideal and need addressed. But I truly feel the people employed at AT&T are trying their very best to be kind, considerate, helpful and friendly. And for that reason, I will continue to give them my business because nowadays that type of treatment is seemingly more and more rare.
The customer service is horrible. Never call unless you 2 hours or more. Almost impossible to get a technician dispatched. After being overcharged for poor internet service they put in fiber. I kept having to reset the modem due to failure. They gave me a contract without my consent. When I tried to cancel after over 14 years of poor service and high billing they ripped me off with false billing then sent it to collections. The service person I cancelled with said I was paid in full. I had to just pay them because it wasn't worth the effort and frustration of trying to deal with there bureaucracy.
I never experienced such poor service. Every day, my order either got cancelled (for no apparent reason and without my consent), or the install date got pushed back. Every time I call they say the issue will get resolved and it never does. I spent over an hour on the phone with them several times, however, it made absolutely no difference.
I don't understand how a compony can operate this way and stay in business. By far the worst service I ever received from any company.
This AT&T is not the 'good mother Bell' that I worked for! I called to question my October bill because a promotional plan was removed without any notice. They back billed me a month, plus billed the current month. So the rep must have had a bad morning and the answer was to disconnect my entire AT&T service bundle. But then they also billed me for 27 more days in the billing cycle ahead because they don't prorate your charges from the time they disconnect until the end of the billing period. I would never recommend AT&T to anyone ever! Worst service!
STAY AWAY FROM AT&T! They are a very unethical company that isn't forth coming with fees and when you get a activation fee waived at the purchase they will still charge you an activation fee on your first bill. They claim even though it was waived online the customer must call them later to get it waived. Once again STAY AWAY! I'm very disappointed with them.
I had to rewrite this review severel times because there's no service I hope this saves whoever reads this the heartache from att. You will lose everything switching to att.no texts phone calls dropped EVERY TIME no emails no internet. Choise any other service but then and it is better
On Saturday December 7, I fully paid my phones and submitted an unlock request at 5pm.
The email I received it said it would take 2 business dates. Today is Wednesday 3rd business day and our phones are still locked. They don't care about customer service. I have been on the phone for over 1 hour with no result. Please don't sign up with at&t. Besides not having a good network, in my experience, they are more expensive than Verizon.
Just switched to the mobile 15.00 plan yes fifteen dollars plan att and cricket you suck beans... And what's the point of snitching out Nunes.
I decided to cancel Uverse because Xfinity had faster internet for a cheaper price. After cancellation, att sent me a receipt for 172$ because "i didn't return my router" even though i never rented one from them. I filed the first case to have it canceled, i kept on getting transfered to wrong departments. 4 hours into it i finally filed a case to resolve my issue. I then call multiple times to get an update about the issue, each time costing me an hour or two, until i finally get an answer from customer service representative stating that they found that i was right and the charges were dropped. Flashforward a month later, i receive a bill in my mail accounting for the $172. I call them again, and i go through the same process... TWICE. 7 months later, i am still trying to fight the case. I am 20 days away of having the issue affect my credit score. NEVER USE ATT. Under no circumstance. Their customer service absolutely sucks- way more than any other company i ever dealt with. They add on to the bill without you noticing. They also add charges you do not have to pay. Their back offices are constituted by people who are either idiots/crooks. I might have to pay the $172 because i was dealing with an incompetent and crooked company.
Two hours in store, another three hours on hold. They disconnect. Another 3 hours on hold. Hiw does this company still exist?
Answer: Terrible service, this is the worst service I've ever had. Canceled all services with this company after my customer service experience. Customer service is horrible, their service in general is horrible, and they don't offer anything I can't get at any other competitors store. I wouldn't recommend service or work with this company, they are discriminatory and bias. All they do is take advantage of you and try to sell you stuff that you don't need so they can raise their commission. If you want to be serviced by a bunch of dilettantes, this is the place for you, bad service, work, and experience, Joshua at legacy village has terrible customer service experience.
Answer: At this point I am so disgusted with a T and T your customer service skills are horrible they don't help you out they keep transferring you to different departments just to get you off the phone they do not like to resolve problems and promises that they made they do not keep their promises they get you into getting into their products and getting their commission and then they screw you out of what they promise you I do advise anybody to go through a TNT they are lousy
Answer: Because they never really will cancel your service! They overcharge you and when you finally get a hold of them they still refuse to help.
Answer: To answer your question, Simply there is no accountability at AT&T. They bounce you around and they make NO attempt for resolution.
Answer: I use to work for AT&T, they have gone from bad to worse to I don't give a damn, and that's a shame
Answer: That is just silly. He wldnt be a multi millionaire if his businesses were bad. You forget, everybody loved him till he announced he was conservative. Isn't it all the democratic mayor's and governor's states that are going to shit? Or would you rather take crime over parent choice?
