I've been buying and wearing Athleta clothes for a long time.
But! My latest purchase, they sent it to the wrong address. It was an old address of mine that I guess they had on file. Even though I paid via PayPal, they didn't use the correct address that I have on file there.
I can understand this was a glitch that maybe could not be fixed. But when I went on their online chat to ask if anything could be done (other than hoping for the random recipient to send back the unexpected gift that they received), when I provided the correct address, the customer service person said "That is not valid".
Yeah. She actually accused me of lying about my correct address. And made no attempt whatsoever to find any solution.
I'm so offended by this that I'm seriously considering never shopping with them again and I have spent a lot of money on their site over the years.
They constantly lie about everything. Regular shipping is 5-7 days and it never ships in that time and they lie non-stop to explain why. It is always the shipper's problem or say it did ship it just isn't tracking. Oh and the post office lost my order and their customer service told me it was my job to track it down. Too bad as the clothes are decent customer service for this entire company sucks.
Not only did it take nearly a month for it to arrive, alongside that it took 2 weeks for someone to even respond when I'm asking for follow up.
But when it finally does arrive its scribbled all over?! How is this acceptable?!
Literally got leggings with marker all over them! ₩
My experience other than buying these item has been the absolute worst amongst any companies I've ordered through before.

I was so excited to receive my first purchase after seeing amazing products via Athleta's marketing campaign on Facebook. What I received was vastly different and disappointing. I ordered bathing suit bottoms and two bathing suit tops. One doubled as a sports shirt.
The bathing suit bottoms had two hairs stuck to a sticker in the crotch of the bathing suit. One of the tops had what looked like deodorant all over the armpit and cup area. The third top was completely wrinkled up twisted. All the items looked like they were thrown into a bag. This is a huge disconnect with management/leadership.
I prefer athleta over lulus! The quality is so much better. My lulus started pilling less than a year of owning them. My athleta has never had a problem. Will never go back to lululemon again!
For years, there were only for smaller ladies and now all of a sudden they want to be inclusive? The brand does not listen to their customers. If you go into any of their NY stores, hordes of customers have asked for them to bring back their low rise/ low waisted leggings that would always sell out and the store managers confirm this fact but the powers that be, just follow their own tune and watch these customers go to No Bull and others. If you want great low rise leggings you have good choices since Athleta feels those customers do not matter any longer! Other companies are seeing the need except fir Athleta who was the leader in great tights until the change
Recently I purchased an item that was sent to me with a hole in it. I returned it to the store and ordered another one online. Both packages were ridiculously sloppy. The item was a $79 woman's top that was thrown in a bag both times with no care or consideration at all. I have to iron this in order to give it as a gift. This item was full price, no discount had been offered during the time I ordered it. But even if there was, this is inexcusable. Missed opportunity to impress! With so many customers shopping online this holiday season, why wouldn't Athleta package their items with quality and class?! Never ordering online from this site again!
The cashier didn't accept return after 15 MINUTES of purchase. At the time of purchase, I had asked the cashier about the return policy and she had not mentioned that on sale clothes could not be taken back.
For the last four months I've tried to unsubscribe from both Athleta and Athleta Fit Pro emails. I have hit UNSUBSCRIBE on FOUR different occasions and STILL receiving emails. So then I called the number at the bottom of the emails.
On the FOURTH CALL I was ASSURED by a manager that I would be REMOVED from ALL emails. Guess what? I'm STILL receiving them!
On the FIFTH call I speak to another customer manager and she tells me that I need to CALL the STORE where I signed up for the Fit PRO membership. I call the store and of course they tell me they have nothing to do with the emails or control of unsubscribing.
This is ABSOLUTELY ridiculous! Can you explain this? Do you think I'll EVER shop with you AGAIN?

Marrissa was of no help and terrible at assisting me on the online chat today. She provided no information on instore or online coupons and when I asked about a student discount I had received in the last she told me there was not such thing and that stores have different discounts. I've gone to plenty and they all have given me a student discount. I'm disappointed with how she handled it and she cut me out of the chat abruptly during our discussion. These items are expensive and I will not be buying them since she was so rude and unhelpful. I think her I'd number should be provided so I can inform her superior. Very dissatisfied. During covid promotion of online purchases should be considered less contamination and should be promoted. I'm sad that she was so rude and unhelpful during these hard times. I guess profit is all they care about, definitely not customer satisfaction.
This is my second time receiving dirty merchandise from athleta. The shorts I ordered were just thrown into the bag with no plastic wrap. All customers service could offer me was 10% off. And of course they are sold out. Told them I was canceling my account and they didn't care, very very upset
Love the quality of the clothes... always bought from the store before pandemic. Just tried online and I must say I'm a little disappointed. The first one... packaging was not ripped open a little bit. And now... just when I thought I'll receive the remaining items in the mail today... they only got one of the four items right. I got better delivery experiences from other stores... from cheaper stores even. Hopefully I get my items right... will find out tomorrow but what an inconvenience...
During Athleta's Labor Day sale I spent a lot of time on their site, placed an order, and was thrilled with the discount. Over a week of waiting, I finally received an email saying my order was cancelled. I called to ask why - and was told that PayPal had rejected payment. This didn't make sense to me (I had an approval code from PayPal) so I verified with PayPal that they had accepted the order a d Athlete had placed the refund. Obviously, Athlete cancelled my order for other reason, but was not honest with me. I wanted to reorder with Athleta but was told all of my items were sold out. I am not happy. They offered a 25% coupon and never sent it. I called back and now they are offering me only 20%...
I ordered a set of masks and never received them. They canceled my order and never told me. I found out when I checked the tracking number. First and last time ordering. I called the number the lady on the phone was polite but did not know what I was talking about. She offered to help me reorder with 3-5 business days when the web site says back order til 8/23... needless to say I ordered from under armor. I won't recommend athleta to anyone!
I've been waiting for masks for 3 months. Never received them and will not order from a company that does not take care of their customers. Lululemon just got another customer today.
After spending 30 minutes on chat to resolve receiving my order completely wrinkled and unwearable truly in a garbage bag the customer service, if you can can call it that, disconnected me when I tried to upload photos they requested.
This is one place that really needs to go out of business. Try ALO. They have much nicer casual wear and it's received in boxes, not garbage bags and if anything is wrong they are right on top of it.
Ordered online for curbside pickup. Received an email stating items were ready for pick up. Arrived at 4:30 pm to fetch order only to find that the store was closed. Further investigation online revealed that curbside pick up hours were from 11:00 am to 4:00 pm. I don't understand why my "ready for pick up"" email did not state the pick up hours. Unfortunately, I was on my way to my niece's drive-by birthday party, and I arrived without a gift. When I finally arrived home, I attempted to contact Athleta - phone and chat were closed, leaving mail a letter' as my only means left of communication, which is why I am writing a review instead of mailing a letter - really, who mails a letter?
Athleta received return of products and would not credit account for 6 weeks and continued to charge credit card with interest. Will never purchase from them again.
During this economically difficult time, I have been extremely cautious about spending. When I needed new workout clothes, however, I decided I would put in an order with Athleta, a brand that came highly recommended to me by friends and family. Here is a timeline of my train wreck experience with Athleta and why I won't be shopping there again:
-April 21: I put in an order of a matching workout set. A top and a bottom.
-April 25: My package arrives. Pants fit great. Top was too big. I got online to re-order the bra in my correct size then realized I made the mistake of ordering an identically named top that ran on a different sizing chart. Confusing, but ok... Got on the phone with Athleta customer service, who helped me cancel the incorrectly ordered top and order a correctly sized top. I should have the correct top coming, yes?
-April 26: Athleta sends me two automated emails. Customer service cancelled both tops. The incorrect one AND the correct one. I noticed they canceled both a few days later.
-April 30: Since I have no top coming, I re-order the top I need.
-May 1: I wear my bottoms for the first time and I really like them!
-May 4: I put the bottoms in the washing machine alone on delicate. I hang them to dry. I noticed The seam at the hips is completely unraveling. After one wear. I repeat! The $98 pants I bought are unraveling after one wear. When I notice this, I again call Athleta to have them send me a new pair. I tell customer service agent the whole story.
Customer service offered me a 15% discount on my new pair. I asked for a better discount for my troubles. Suddenly, the call dropped. I waited, knowing that Athleta has my phone number. They could easily call me back. No call came. I called customer service again and asked to me reconnected to the person I'd just spent 15 minutes on the phone with. They couldn't connect me... Annoying. This new customer service person understood the issue quickly and ordered me a new pair of pants, and she sent me the return labels directly. I explicitly asked her "Can you confirm that these pants are in stock?" To which we responded "yes we have 36 pairs left." Together we put in the order for the new pants and I would return the old pants the next morning.
-May 5: I wake up to an email reading "Unfortunately, the below items are no longer available, and we will need to cancel them."
I'm done.
I have sent back my damaged pants and top that's too large and I expect a full refund for all. I wasted hours on this purchase that ultimately amounted to nothing. My friends and family who initially recommended your brand are as floored as I am.
I've tried repeatedly to use my rewards in store and online and the experience is AWFUL! The customer service response from anyone has been non-existent. I had one employee in Banana Republic go above and beyond but the party line I normally get in store at Athleta is "sorry..."
Answer: Athleta is a legit company that charges outrageous prices for cheap clothing.
