I do not think asurion/Verizon deserves a full star, perhaps a half star. I purchased a new iPhone 12 less than 4 months ago. I had a mishap and damaged my phone, so I filed a claim (the first claim ever! I have been with Verizon for over 10 years and not once filed a claim) the costumer service was nice enough. I was told they would replace my phone and it would come the next day. The phone was delivered the next day… refurbished with apple and non apple parts (apple warranty no longer covers the hardware of this phone). I plugged the phone in and became very warm when charging or after about 14 minutes of use. I called and the phone was replaced easily enough…I was told I would receive a brand new phone… I received another refurbished phone that the battery will not hold a charge appropriately… again apple warranty on hardware/recalls voided. I can understand a referbished phone after about a year, bu 4 months it should be brand new as Verizon advertised and asurion representative said would be sent… very disappointed. Not only will I not be renewing my contract with Verizon, I will not agree to use asurion to insure any devices whatsoever in the future.
I contacted Asurion to fix my washing machine.
Asurion turned out to be:
1. Mismanaged bureaucracy I ended up talking to 7 different people without any resolution.
2. Technologicaly inept, the one person who came to my house misdiagnosed the problem claiming it was
a broken timer and didn't fix the washer; Sears came several days later and fixed a broken switch in
1/2 hour to get the washer working.
3 No regard for my time.
- Asurion scheduled a technician to come to my house between 1 and 4, The
technician did not show up or call to cancel.
- I called a help line three separate times and each time
was put on hold and after several minutes was disconnected.
-I called after hours and received a call back the next morning at 7AM while i was still sleeping
I pay insurace for my verizon devices, the insurace is through Asurion. My phone stopped working, not because of something I did. It was an issue with device itself. I submitted a claim, they made me jump through a million hoops. I they told me they werent going to cover it. I contiuned to push and eventually they told me they would cover it. The device was suppose to arrive today between 5pm-7pm. They assured me it would be here. IT DIDNT COME. I then called Asurion to fingure out what was going on. I was on hold for 1 and 1/2 hours. After that, of course they tell me the device isnt coming. They said it needed to be shipped out the next day. I need my phone for work! Why do I even pay insurance. I will never pay this BS again. I still don't have a phone!
Complete scam. Claim denied once- got online to find out why - talked with a guy who assured me it would be resolved only to have claim denied again two days later! Save your money. If I could give negative stars I would.
Two appliances broke said they were to busy to make 2 trips even though parts were in in 2 days total waste of time would never sign up for contract again. Customer service terrible and wasted 2 hours on phone dealing with them never buy Samsung again. Once he finally showed up problem was fixed never buy extended warranty again
After having to file the same claim 3 times, the remote technician calling me the day and time of the appointment and saying they weren't coming, setting up a new appointment and that was a no show, I was then told that they can't file my claim because I was using a different device when the accident happened, even though I only have the one phone. I finally gave up and will switch to Apple Care going forward!
Every person I talked to except the wonderful lady at the end had an ugly ethnic attitude. One of the men that I talked to said he would hang up if I didn't calm down. I did calm down but was still stern and he actually hung up on me. The other two women were not helpful. I simply asked for the company to put in a note that I prefer after 8 in the 7 to 9 window. The first lady said it couldn't be done. I call back and the rep said it could be done. The cherry on top... I get home after leaving work as quickly as possible I look in my emails on my computer and it said that the phone was delivered. BULL $#*!ING $#*! there wasn't a signature no conversation and the rep that was supposed to come wouldn't answer their phone. WHAT THE $#*! KIND OF COMPANY IS THIS? IF ANYONE FROM ASURION SEES THIS JUST KNOW YOU WORK FOR A $#*! COMPANY
Called the first time, told him my phone screen was cracked. Told him that the screen was flickering but wouldn't come on anymore. He told me that internally it was damaged and I would need a full replacement. I said hmm, that doesn't seem right so let me call my buddy with a repair shop. He confirmed that when a screen is replaced, it's an all in one lcd/glass replacement. I called again, they then asked if the back was cracked, I said yes. They then said that it would need a full replacement. I called their repair shop and confirmed all it would need is the screen kit and that if I wanted the back could be replaced for $77ish. I then called for a 3rd time talked to a lady and explained the whole situation and she said because I was misinformed by the first rep I talked to she would set up an at home repair appointment and get the screen fixed and if I wanted to, I could cover the back damage repair. I said great. Monday comes around and I get a text saying they don't have the parts and to call back and reschedule. I did and they then needed a second account pin so they couldn't help me. I then called Verizon, got the pin set up, then called to a 5th time, I've been transferred 4 times now and no solution. I've been lied to twice. They continue to tell me I need a full replacement. Don't get insurance from them. Just save your money, but a case and if you need to just pay out of pocket and get it fixed. They are a bunch of scammers.
I've been paying the Asurion premium on my ATT phone for years. I had water damage and called to make a claim. Received an email stating the claim was approved and processing. 2 days later I had not yet received my shipping information. I called Asurion and was given a FedEx tracking number. Fedex was showing delivery at the end of the day. Checked FedEx later that day and it showed the shipment was returned to sender by the Asurion request. I called Asurion and they told me my claim was canceled due to "fraud". Turns out that the claim was cancelled shortly after it was approved days early. I received no correspondence from Asurion about the about the cancelled claim. The Asurion rep I spoke to earlier in the day still gave me the FedEx tracking number while never bothering to tell me the order was cancelled.
The only fraud going on here is by Asurion. Loyal, long paying customers like me pay their premiums every month and Asurion does not follow up on their end. Furthermore, their customer service is painfully incompetent.
Maybe that's their plan to frustrate customers so they just go buy a new phone and Asurion doesn't have to pay out?
After spending 50 minutes on the phone with customer service and their "fraud group", I have another claim filed and am waiting for the phone to arrive. I'm not holding my breath for it to arrive.
Pay for the TOTAL protection plan and every time I try to submit a claim I am denied. Nothing but aggravation! MORE like a TOTAL WASTE of my money!
To file the claim online was surprisingly easy. I had two choices for my completely unusable phone: Make an appointment an hour away (closest available) and have to take off work or wait 6 days for a tech to come to my house. I chose to wait. The day of the appointment I get a text. "There is a part that has not made it to the store. Contact Asurion to reschedule." I have SO many problems with this. 1. The one part is a new screen for my iPhone 11. How is that out of stock? 2. I have waited 6 days and you don't even say "We are sorry to inconvenience you. We will contact you as soon as the part arrives. Here is a number you can call..." NOTHING. 3. I texted back and asked if I would be contacted when the part arrived and waited. Tried to call an hour later and my number had been blocked. 4. I called customer service and was on the phone 1 hour and 35 minutes to reschedule for 5 days later. My only two other options were to drive more than 2 hours one way from my home for an appointment, wait 5 days and hope they don't cancel, or order a new phone. They tried to sell me on new coverage plans at the end of the call! Are you kidding? I added up the cost. $8.99/mo for 12 months I have paid = 108 + $49 deductible for the repair = $157 and 11 days wait (if they show up) OR I could have taken it to a repair place 15 mins away for $189 with a 10% off coupon. Asurion is horrible. Never again.
My screen cracked. The fix is simple enough that a person can do it in a van while you wait. Reportedly. I can't confirm because even though I live in the middle of the second largest town in my state, the closest location is over 85 miles away.
My alternative is to mail it in with a 3-day turnaround time. I use my phone for work, so obviously this is not possible. My other alternative? Buy a new phone.
There are people all over town who can do this repair, but none of them are 'in network'.

Basically, the online claim form is set up to deny your claim since there is likely no option you will find applicable that also enables the claim. The one option in the claim form that enables the claim to be accepted is unclear, obscure, and misleading. Instead of paying them each month, just put the cash in a sock and save it up for when you need to pay for repairs somewhere reputable.
I WOULD NEVER RECOMMEND! Rude, unprofessional and money hungry! If there's was a no star option I would choose it!
So i had Asurion come to my work and replace mildly damaged screen on my Note 8. Which was not that bad but i figured for 29. Why not. The tech cracked the whole back of my phone wile putting it in the vise. Wouldn't replace the screen after he cracked the back! So now they are sending me a reconditioned note 8 and charged me 29!
So i started out with a new note 8 with a mild crack in the corner (5% of the screen) and a perfect phone that I spent 800 on and new the history of. Now i am getting who knows what. A second hand note 8 when they ruined my phone! I will never use there service again and would not recommend them at all. Truly a sad situation and my hands are tied. You are left with no other choice from there incompetent techs but to replace your new phone with someone's used refurbishing junk!
I had to call them to make sure the box was on its way to me then we send our phone factory reset and it's been over a week when the site says 5-7 days so, I call tonight. Stayed on hold for 30 min then they tell me the phone will be returned unfixed tomorrow. No one called us or no Tracking information was sent or given. No communication from them at all and I'm not sure I would have ever received my phone back if I didn't call.
My Samsung Note 20 Ultra contracted the black screen of death. I was online when the phones' s screen went black and could not be revived even after using ever tip and trick on available on youtube. I filed a claim with Asurion and was advised the device was on back order, that I could either wait or accept an inferior replacement. The customer representative suggested the phone would be back in stock in 3-5 days. I decided to wait. It's 9 days later and the replacement is still on backorder. Call about TERRIBLE customer service. I called for the 4th time today and they could not give me any guidance on how much longer I would need to wait for the replacement phone I paid my monthly premium to be provided a immediate replacement. Lesion learned, may as well not insure and just buy a replacement (not Samsung) and move on. I cannot imagine how much business I've lost because I cannot respond to my clients. Well done Asurion!
We have a extended warranty on our refrigerator with Asurian. Refrigerator broke, called them, we trouble shooted and still couldn't fix it. The Asurian paper work states repair will commence in 24 hours. First representative says it will be 6 days, I got a call the next day and they just informed me it would be maybe 8 days before they could come out and look at it. I call back there customer service and talked with Cameron and he was no help and very condescending. I buy a warranty to protect/confidence in my large purchases Asurian is not reliable or professional!
I submitted a clam for a broken screen on April 24... received numerous requests to submit copy of drivers license (which should be illegal) and also documentation. After 5 days of back and forth with 4 or 5 representatives, the claim was denied because I had a 30 day waiting period. Really? No one could tell me that before?!?! Thanks for wasting my time!
So lets say you have a new Iphone for a year. You pay $11 ($132 for a year) for Asurion coverage. Then you break your Iphone. The deductible is $200. And guess what? You get a REFURBISHED phone. So lets do some math. $132 for insurance, $200 for your deductible. For a total of $332! You could have easily bought a refurbished phone for under $300...
Total Scam... NEVER get Asurion coverage for your phone.

Answer: Well, when that happened to me they sent me their IMO SPYWARE phone by the next day. I think it was like twenty-five days for my phone! I hope you kept your charger, case, & took the cards out of your phone first!
