I made several calls beginning on the 7th of July. I was told by 3 representatives I would receive a replacement phone. We went back and forth on me paying a $20 fee for shipping and it being free. A supervisor walked me through making a payment for over the phone with no shipping fee. I paid $9.99 for the phone totalling $11.01. She called me.back after I told her I was going with another company. With no notice, they told me what she had said was invalid and I would be charged for shipping. They listed my phone as being lost or stolen when they knew the phone kept restarting. When I told them I was switching companies service was unavailable after I could in fact use the phone connected to a charger before then. They acted like they didn't understand what was going on. I was supposed to have service until I was approved with another company. Working on getting my money back.

After eventually getting a customer service rep on the phone, that is after 15 minutes of commercials, he does not speak my language. Really great Assurance, hire idiots from a 3rd world county to answer calls.
Then in mid sentence, he hangs up on me because customer service is closed. Mighty $#*!ing great.
I have a damn problem and he goes home.
Is there anyone at this company that really gives a $#*! about the customer, or it just the money?

Literally 25 hours of calling them (and then my previous carrier) to have number ported. Sweet staff in Phillipines either does not understand or something = no progress was made. Confusing long winded phone system that hangs up on you. Agents that put you on hold then disconnected. Over and over and over. Would be comical if I weren't so sick. Waste of time and so frustrating. Would never reccomend even with free service. I'm not doing it justice. It takes 15 min just to get to an agent and explain who you are and then get hung up on or told that they ported the number, which Verizon confirmed they tried once, not 6 times as I was told on 6 different calls.

Scam
July 25, 2023

I received the phone along with a letter saying I had 7 days to activate it. After 28hrs I called, they told me my application has expired since the phone has been out of the box for more than 24 hrs. They wanted me to reapply and receive a 2nd phone. Seems like a large scam to Bill the government and still no service. It was a trash throw away phone. Can't imagine what was billed for it.

Disgusted/ SAD
July 24, 2023

Charging 20 shipping without putting it out there for people to know about and on top of that you have the stomach to charge people who are poor and need the free phone to begin with and even if it's your fault. I should start a class action law period/sue. I'm already involved with Camp Lejuene water. Disputable. Thanks America!

I have had the same wiko phone for over two years and it's not working properly in many ways. I called to get a replacement and was told it would be $28 to get another phone. I can't afford $28. If I could afford that I would just go with Walmart's family plan. I'm on a fixed income and am disabled. I shouldn't have to buy a replacement phone. What am I supposed to do. Assurance wireless is worthless.

The minutes seem to run by very quickly every month and forces you to top up and then the system is not working and you can't use the debit or credit card. Customer service is telling me I have to go out and find a Top up card. Customer service was very rude when I was trying to explain that I need to buy minutes and their system is broken. He talked over me and then hung up on me. I will be ending this service shortly.

A Rip Off
July 20, 2023

I bought a REVVL 4 phone. It was 103 dollars with tax. I had it for 5 days. The screen went black every time I tried to make a phone call. I couldn't receive any phone calls. I couldn't make any phone calls. The phone will shut down on its own. So, I sent it back. It got approved for a RMA. The person I spoke with said that I will get a refund. The refund will be in my account 10 to 15 business days after they receive the phone. They received the phone for about two weeks. I still didn't get my refund. I have been messaging them and calling them. I can't seem to contact anyone. I don't think they are going to give me a refund. I went online to see about my refund. It said that RMA needs additional information. It's bad business.

Greedy
July 19, 2023

Assurance wireless sent me a replacement phone because the original phone they sent me wasn't compatible with the laundry app I needed at my apartment complex. The replacement phone they sent me, the screen keeps getting dark, to where I can barely see anything on the screen. I contacted Assurance wireless a week ago to have the phone replaced, but they told me I would be required to pay a shipping fee of $20.00 for the replacement phone. I explained that I was very low income and was the reason why I chose to become a customer in the first place, and that I couldn't afford the $20.00 shipping fee. They pretty much told me "oh well, no $20.00, no replacement phone". I have been an Assurance wireless customer for around 4 years now, but I guess I'll be looking for a different low income phone service now. Extremely disappointing.

Scamming
July 18, 2023

These people bate you saying by ordering you will have unlimited. They said that I would have to drop my internet provider. Why if I qualify for the government phone. They don't tell you until you call and that's sick I don't not recommend them and I really want to sue them for false advertisement.

Phone still under warranty, and yet I was asked to give my bank info to some random Indian guy for shipping? Since when do I need to pay shipping for a replacement for a free phone that was shipped for free the first time? I could tell by how he over explained the process that the policy is "new" as of last month. And that the shipping fee is justified because THEY shouldn't have to pay for MY phone to be shipped. It was obviously a lie. Assurance Wireless is employing scammers and I'm absolutely livid that I can't even receive customer support without someone trying to scam me...

I have Assurance Wireless Schok phone. This phone always drops my calls and every time I call up for a new phone they send me another Schok phone. I know I seen their new phones but I can't get one because they have me down for the Schok phone. If I wanted their new phone I was told it would cost me approximately $150.00. I have been with them for about 20 years and every time my phone goes down they send me another Schok phone and that phone breaks down on me in about a month. To me the Schok phones are lousy!

I'd give it less.
July 12, 2023

Just attempted to help my elderly friend to apply for a new phone as her phone has become inoperable and they told us that her warranty had expired and proceeded to try and charge us for a replacement.

Getting someone on the phone was nearly impossible because of how difficult it was to navigate through the automated system with how badly it malfunctions. I had to call them 5 times in a row from my own phone. I can only imagine how difficult it is for elderly who are self-reliant to get ahold of these people. Absolutely disgusting.

I don't know where to begin! I had been with them since 2019. My phone finally stopped working. I am on the ACP so I should have had no issues getting a new phone. The CS lied to me and said I could get 1 but had to sign up for a plan that was $.87 a month. Ok, no big deal bc it was unlimited everything with it. Never once told me that it would cancel my ACP if I did that. He then said I would have a new phone in 7 business days.Never came. Called back, was escalated to a "supervisor". He yelled at me that I would get it in 1-2 days and hung up. Still never came. Called back to be told I never had a ticket for a new phone and would have to pay $29.99 for an old phone plus shipping! WHAT!? They all lied to me and I am disgusted with thier treatment. All I heard was "oh what a pretty name" "oh please hold on" "I understand" when CLEARLY they didn't understand. It was awful! Please DO NOT use this company bc anything they tell you is to appease you and get you off the phone. I am now out $10 they charged my card for the.87 a month bc they charged a yr up front. I was never going to get a new phone, I was never going to get any help and I am so upset and want to report them anywhere I can! It's not ok that they are a part of the govt phone thing and treat people like this! PLEASE DO NOT USE THEM FOR ANYTHING! I transferred my number and account to QLink today and we'll see how it goes. DO NOT USE THEM!

Phone sucks
July 8, 2023

I just got this phone 2 weeks ago, I only needed a phone to have a way to talk to my husband, The phone was great when I first got it and used it, I filled out a survey saying the phone was great because it was at first, right after taking the survey the phone turned into garbage, My husband says he tried to call me like 6 times from work to talk on his breaks, and the phone does not even take in his phone calls, or tell me I have a missed call. It has been saying no service all the time, and only emergency calls only, I am now switching to safe link wireless in hopes that I can talk to my husband through that company! This does not even deserve 1 star... 2 weeks in and it's a JOKE...

Don't bother trying. These people refuse to fix their defective products and then charge you $50 for shipping only to get the same defective devices. They don't speak English when you call so you can not communicate your issues. Everyone single receptionist claims to be the supervisor. Nothing but lies from this company and the workers!
